When I talked to the guy he said he was calling to get support for the firefighters station and they were raising money for "this and that"....this and that, is that guy for real. then he started to get all mixed up and said that it was for the hospital...all three hospitals. I couldn't belive this guy. I told him if he was gonna scam anybody he better get his speel straight.  Just too fricken much  Have a good one Deb

Got a call this morning. There was background noise, something that sounded a bit like "uh oh" or "no" and they hung up on me. We're on the DNC list in Canada. I think sometimes the robodialer dials anyway, and it is up to the telemarketer/fraud artist to hang up. Not sure about this.

Just got a call from 18006194113 (Nov.10.2011)
When I answered I said "Hello"
They responded "Oh hello"
Me thinking that I recognized the voice said "Hi Jake, whats going on"
Them - " I THINK I"M GOING FRIKKIN INSANE!!!!"
And then they hung up.
Pretty disturbing. I don't have call display but I *69 the number.

If this is Xentel .... they are a good-for-nothing trash organization. Last time the buuggers called it was apparently for Canadian Police Services and I checked them out. This time they called about firefighters - I picked up and heard some guy mumbling away before I cut him off and told him where to go.

Xentel may actually be canvassing for some charities but mostly, folks, they are canvassing for themselves. They take an enormous portion of whatever they collect to cover "expenses" (yeah like the owner's estate in the Grand Bahamas?).

I can't see why any group (like firefighters or police) would hire these jerks to solicit from the public. So I assume that it is all scam.

Xentel is one of the few scumbag telemarketers that have been fined by the toothless Canadian DNC. And they were given a big fine. Guess they are hard at work right now trying to make the money back. Yeah right.

Just got this all in Victoria - Magic and Miracles, Victoria Firefighters.  I twisted off on the caller almost immediately because he wouldn't tell me who he was.  Kept saying it was Max, even spelled it for me M A X.  I asked him if he thought I was an idiot and demanded he tell me what company.  I'm sure this is a scam and they just use Firefighters as a way in.

They just called me but they are out of luck. I have turned off my answering machine and I do not use voicemail. So I just let the phone ring, and ring, and ring. Ha ha. But I can check call log when I have time and call back the people I want to.

It's really sad that these human-trash-bags have spent their time and energy trying to sucker the general population. And in the process they have corrupted our telephone systems - which have become nothing the a distribution system for voice-garbage. Voicemail is no longer useful - the mailboxes rapidly fill up. Same for my answering machine. The businesses that are suffering are the ones who offer the services and equipment that are no longer useful, because telemarketing is legal. Robot diallers should be outlawed!

Now - I want a phone where I can also shut off the ringer, and not be bothered by that, either. Then I'll just check my rings whenever I want to.

THIS NUMBER CALLS TIME AND TIME AGAIN, WE NEVER ANSWER, NO MESSAGE LEFT, THEN WE CALL BLOCK THE NUMBER, PHONE WILL STILL RING ONCE AND HANG UP ON THE CALLER WHO IS (800) 619-4113.

Can't something be done by Government to stop all the scammers ( and various other names these no goods are called)

they call me every morning at 9:30am I finally answered it and they hung up on me, STOP CALLING ME!

This number called me Oct 21, 30. Nov 3, 5, 6, 7. No answer on the other end.

How can these type of phone calls be stopped. I get all type of calls from thes unknown names .

If they get your email address, will they harass you that way? The only way to truly stop these calls is to locate their scam office and lock the doors, destroy their machines after removing the hard drives, and racking up their phone bill with 1-900 numbers!

Vancouver BC received lots of phone calls from this number. Dec 12, 2009 received another phone call from this number. No Answer from other end. A few minutes later received a phone call from 1-866-616-6010 No answer on other end.

If you have Shaw phone service simply dial *60 and follow the prompts. They won't be calling from that number again.

I just got that number calling. Didn't answer. No message left. I am in Edmonton Canada.

Answered the call and there was nothing on the other end.  Very annoying!  Second one today.  The other was from a different number (1-800-736-7608).

I  recieved a letter from Magic n Miracles they have a phone number 1-800-793-1204. I don't remember making a pledge to this company, but thought I'd research them. I'm glad I found this website.

They seem to always call when we are in the middle of dinner.  I answer on the third ring and there is nothing but a dial tone.  Wish they would just go away!  Would like to know which charity I donated to sold my name and number, tired of all these calls!

they also record the times that you pick up and sell that information to other telemarketers ... so beware when you answer

They called two nights ago, claiming they were from the "Calgary Firemen Association" and were looking for a donation.  My husband said wasn't interested and asked them not to call again.  After he hung up he told me what they said and said there is no such thing as Calgary Firemen Association.   Maybe Calgary Firefighters Association, but not Calgary Firemen Association.  How low can you go when you have to use these services as your scam?

They call EVERY NIGHT, and there's nobody on the line. If you call back, you get a recording from Magic n Miracles, a sleazy charity.

The message says to call back during business hours, but they are calling my house every evening around 7 or 8 PM. I can't help but wonder how much of the money they collect actually does any good, and how much gets stuffed into their pockets...

I sit there like a dummy for the last 3 or 4 nights, saying "hello" to their machine, and no response yet. I can't wait to tear a strip off of a real employee there.

Please remove my phone number from your list and stop calling me.

I have kept a list of the numbers I've used *60 on and they are still getting through.  When I try it again I'm told they are already on my "do not call" list, not that I'm over my limit, but I've already registered the number.  So the system isn't perfect.
