I was part of this scam from NLA law firm they received 3.000 from me and did nothing
For me I found out they were closed down by the courts . How do I get my money back I'm sure the courts can enforse them to return it . Please help me 720-495-5381

Brian I am not a scammer you on the other hand are.  Your law firm did absolutely nothing in helping me keep my home.  They had my paperwork for 3 months and did nothing.  See you in court counselor

It seems that the law office of Brian Butler had nothing whatsoever to do with my money. They never received any money from Home Retention on my behalf therefore I was never their client. I have since received my refund from Home Retention , after about a 2 month ordeal. Think I'll go a different route from now on and not use one of those services such as HRA. Too much of a hassle. They tried to say that Brian Butler had my money and it turns out that after a lot of research they, HRA, were not being honest with me and therefore I must withdraw any concerns I had with Brian Butler Law Firm.

I have been assured by the Law firm that home retention did not set me up as a client for the firm of Brian P Butler, that I was never their client, Im further researching Home Retention Agency.

They helped me with my modification.  As it was mentioned in the post from Alabama Slamma, keep all lines of communication open with the Law Firm.  We didn't experience any issues and you can contact them directly.  They returned our calls, but I found that they responded better by email correspondence.

The company is called The Home Retention Pre-Screening Agency, a legal network that previously worked with an attorney in Florida, but they severed ties with the attorney.  They placed us with Brian Butler Law Firm in New York.  I was a bit skeptical, but our situation actually worked out (Thank You Jesus!).  Everything that the law firm told us would occur did indeed occur.  Our lender confirmed that Brian Butler Law had contacted them, they stayed on top of following through with documents that we had submitted, and our modification was granted.  The day that the attorney gave us the good news, we received a package via Fed Ex from our lender confirming that our modification was approved

I contacted Brian Butler Law Firm and was assured help was available. Yeah right took my money left me hanging in the wind.  Contacted them in April lost my home in June

I contacted the Bryan Butler Law Firm after cancelling with Home Retention Agency , after their request to get my refund from them. I was told by Butler Law Firm that they were not given any information about me. Its hard to tell where the lies are in this process but I wanted to alert you when I read the name Bryan Butler. They may very well be involved in this entire scam. After 2 months I still have not received any money from them. We may have to go to the attorney generals office with this and establish a class action law suit against everyone involved. My email is [removed]

Started the procees with this company and before signing anything my account was debited for 595.00, I cancelled and asked for a fefund but after two months have not gotten satisfaction. They will not even return or answer or return any of my phone calls. What do I do now, can anyone help me. What is their mailing address, Home Renetion Agency ?

Hi James! I need some feedback. I am currently working with Brian P Butler law offices to get my home modified. It is now assigned with the negotiator, Karen Johnson. I have submitted all of the needed documents to her 14 days ago and my lender contacted me informing me that she has yet to submit this file to them. I contacted her via email and asked her about this and told her I needed reassurance and she told me that her system is down and until it is back up she cannot access my file and give me any information. I kept emailing her for assurance and asking why my lender keeps contacting me and that I was told to tell my lender to contact them and they have yet to get in touch with my lender. Is this normal?? I am just starting to get worried. I have already made two payments to them. How long did it take for the negotiator to submit your file to your lender? Please help as I am worried right now because I am being contacted by my lender saying they are going to move forward with the foreclosure process. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sir if you have really paid the law firm, all you have to do is send proof of payment and any funds received would be refunded. You say your are fighting to get the fee's back, who are you fighting with because you never called the firm.

yes the offices of Brain P Butler have been excellent and were honest from the get go. I contacted a Pre- screening agency who put me in touch with them, the whole process from start to finish was about 4 months.

I also got a call from this company 3 months ago and was skeptical at first, they ask me for certain documentation to evaluate my case  then they assigned me to the law offices of Brian Butler after we went over a service agreement with them and provided all documentation to them to contact my lender. I contacted my Lender they said they did receive the authorization form and that the law office of Brian butler are working on my behalf to obtain a Loan Modification. It has been 3 months and yes i did receive My modification, i am now current on my loan with a lower interest rate and lower payment, also i referred my friend to the home retention group and they appointed him a different law office that is in contact with my friends lender now. I did find out that they are a Pre- screening agency that refers Homeowners to different law firms based on the homeowners individual needs and also refers homeowners to other services that they might need. To Mr. Hightower if you hire an attorney and you sign a Authorization form stating that they can contact your lender, then yes they have the authorization to do so. (that why you hire a law firm) There are thousands of law firms working with lenders every single day, for the fact that these lenders are not helping homeowners all you have to do is some research on this lots of these lenders are in class action law suits and they are not helping anyone therefore lots of homeowners like myself hire a law firm to get the job done.

Just a reminder from my new Attorney. Without a power of attorney (use specific limited). A company or attorney can not speak on your behalf with a lender.

Canceled there services and they still took my money. Trying to get my money back now. I asked why the number for the attorney was different on there paperwork than his website and the case manager Derek Randell jumped down my throat. After that i felt i was being scammed and canceled all services. they still took the money and now i am fighting to get it back.

Yes i received verification from my lender that they were notified that i had representation. They also stopped my sales date. Its unfortunate hat some people are not on top of there lives. What worked for me was the constant communication with my lender and the law firm. they never asked for any additional fees or didnt return my calls. My advice for people using this company is have an open line of communication . Only thing i dont like is the fear of not receiving a modification .

Please know that they also referred us to Brian P. Butler who also never returned one of our phone calls and wanted an additional fee to continue the work from NLA Law Firm. That was a red flag in itself.

Please cancel any work with them. The put us with NLA Law Firm who closed their doors in March by court ordered. Every person we worked with and have been working with all numbers are disconnected. We are trying to get our refund back in the amount of $2,950.00 for work that was never performed regarding modification of our mortgage. We signed a contract with NLA Law Firm out of Florida we complied with everything they asked of us but never and I mean never had one of our phone calls returned or emails answered since January 2013.  It wasn't until we went on their web site that it said their doors are closed.  We went through lcnpc.com a referral company who refers to lawfirm which also acts as attorney network group or attorney alliance union.  We have received an email from Bianca of lcnpc who emailed a P.O. Box address for NLA Law Firm to request a refund. We are not getting our hopes up but through extensive research we know NLA Law Firm is a fraud and we are pursuing this matter with the Attorney General in Florida and New York.  Our best advice is get out now as you will be making three payments for work never performed and jeopardize your home.

So...did they help you modify your home loan?

I was assisted by the Law office of Brian P Butler and my lender was already contacted by them. After doing my research further , i found that home Retention Agency is just a Pre screening company for multiple options.

home retention agency - but they refer to lawyers.  The review from campie418 above, is exactly why we were researching.  They just asked us for documentation (proof of income and utlitliy bill) and were in negotiations with our lended.

We will not be moving forward based on the review above, too many parallels
