I was contacted this afternoon on my cell phone by a gentleman with an Indian accent from an unknown number. He said his name was Fred.  He proceeded to tell me that my Microsoft system was not getting the much needed updates because of the wireless.  He said it was important that I go to my computer and he would assist me in correcting the problem.  I asked who he worked for and kept saying he was a computer tech through Microsoft.  He gave me a phone number where I could call him back, which I did not.  I contacted the police and they suggested I update my do not call list information, which you cannot do now because of the government shutdown!  I pity the pour soul that gives in to this obvious scam.  They are persistent and clever.

It was obvious that this was a scam but the caller insisted that my computer was not allowing Microsoft updates and wanted me to go to the Start button.  I told them that they were a bunch of scammers but only after getting a return phone number (listed above) and their "business name"  Prosys IT.

The other reply got it right too.  You all need to write grammatically correct and spell properly.  It is obvious that "Jack" is one of those "wonderful" scammers making the calls.  You should be ashamed of yourself.  I would hope that everyone does the same thing....keep them on the line as long as possible and pretend you are doing what they ask.  Waste their time so that they cannot harm someone else!!!!!!!!!

My husband received a call from Prosys Infotech on his cell phone today.  They told him they were working with our internet service provider and said that our computer was not receiving Windows Updates.  My husband grilled him about the company, what they do, etc and asked him how they got his cell number and home address!  My husband never confirmed the address and they said his cell was the only number on file.  We have a cable, phone, internet bundle and his cell phone is not on file with them.  My husband let him talk for a little longer then told him he wasn't falling for his scam.

This is the third call in three months.  Indian accent, claiming that ,y computer is to responding to updates, please let me guide you through the process of getting rid of all the errors. He said he was from "process technical support" ( that's what it sounded like) and gave me the 800-626-1235 number and said his name is Thomas.  I said I would rather have a technician come to my house.  He insisted he could help me.  I said no and hung up.  Then I googled the phone number and found this site.

me too! "Thomas" gave the Same spiel I have heard twice before.  First time, I was stupid enough to follow along until Insaw that he had control of my mouse, somI quickly exited the site, and then another guy with the same accent called two minutes later to start the scam again!!  I hung up.  Two months later, same spiel.  I kept insisting Incould not trust the dude.  Finally I said to my husband, but so the dude could hear, "Have I kept him on long enough for a trace?"  He hung up.  Imhad asked for a phone number, and he gave me a long weird number he said was in Australia.  I reported the calls to the government website.

The same ploy was used Saturday morning. The caller also added there were only the 35 specialists at this company that could fix the windows update problem.

I just received a call from these b*****ds a few minutes ago. They claimed that they were Prosys InfoTech and that they were working with "Windows" (not Microsoft!). They told me that my computer had many problems with it and that I could not complete Windows Update because of the errors my computer system. They told me to go to Windows Configuration to view all of the programs which weren't running as if that was supposed to show a problem with my system or something. They asked me to go through the remote desktop process which would have given them entire control over my computer system to them which I immediately found suspicious. I went through their little game and asked them repeatedly to tell me the name of their company because of the thick Indian accent and shaky dialogue. Eventually they spelled out "Prosys InfoTech" and gave me their website to prove that they were legitimate (which I of course knew they were not). Finally I told the Indian man that I believed he was a scammer and that I would not go through with his presentation of my so called computer "errors" and told him good day and hung up. I only hope that I kept him on the line long enough to waste his time from defrauding someone innocent enough to believe their evil lines of BS...

I just received a call from 800-626-1235.  He was insistent that he was calling from microsoft to help correct my machine which he had noted was not responding to the updates.  He did not back down even when I told him I was reporting the call to Microsoft ... Bold he was.  I asked him for a number where I could call him back when I got to my machine ... and he provided the above 800#.  Clearly I am NOT calling him back.  He did have an accept (sounded like he was calling from India)

I got a call  from "out of area" with no number on my caller id. The guy had India accent. He said my computer is not updating correctly. I told him it was. He said they can fix the error on my computer and I said I would take it to the shop in my neighborhood if needed. He wanted to assure me they were ligit and can show me the problems. He said I can look them up at "ProcessInfoTech.us" on the web. I am not going to this site. So I am reporting this- but what more can a person do to destroy the scammer? Theses people have no morals or empathy.

So the scam artist (heavy foreign accent) calls from an unknown number - says my computer is not responding to Window updates. "Alarmed," I ask all kinds of questions - she pours it on hard about all the damage being done by perilous viruses and system bugs as my Windows Op System is seriously infected. After sounding interested, I asked for her number "in case we got cut off"  and she gave this 800 #. As I'm slowly following all her directions (not) to get online and to a website where she can log on to my computer (yeah, sure), I'm actually Googling the commands she told me to run "Eventvwr" to learn there are serious scammers using this ruse to do all sorts of heinous stuff. So, I keep asking question after question to keep her occupied..... like for 30 minutes. She's going on and on about Windows this and that - how bad it all is - I ask here about the weather where she is, if she's married, kids, etc -  I just drag it out. She gets me to open event viewer (not really) and asks me what I see - supposed to be a long list of critical errors - I tell her I see nothing. She then asks about how slow my computer is and I tell her its fast as lightning even though its second hand and over 4 years old. I can tell she is getting really frustrated with me and I've had all the amusement I can stand without bursting .... so I ask, "tell me again where the Start Button is on a Mac?" No answer - so I ask again. She says this has to do with Windows Operating System - I said, "Yeah, you told me that earlier, but where is the Start button on this Mac? After all this, she said -"you have Apple Mac?" ..... phone call ended pretty quickly a I couldn't hold it in any longer.... LAUGH OUT LOUD!

Received a call at work today from "Susan" working for "Process Infotech" (distinct Indian accent) claiming they're receiving reports of us not having our Windows updated. She asked if my computer was currently turned on and what version of Windows I have. I asked how they had Windows reports without knowing what version of Windows we have here. She dodged the question and repeated the reason she was calling. I played along (we've received calls like this before and I'm tech savvy enough to know better) and she guided me to Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Applications. She had me tell her the number of events and then exclaimed "Oh my God! I've never seen so many errors. This can cause major problems!"

I got a little upset knowing that they pull this kind of thing over on people who just aren't aware of what's happening and asked for her information to call her back. I won't be calling them back, but I hope somehow this scam operation can be shut down.

I received a telephone call out of the blue from a woman who called herself "Glory".  She claimed to be from the company called ProSys.  This woman spoke with a distinct Indian accent.  She told me that they have been monitoring my computer and noticed that I had numerous errors.  She requested that I check a few things on my computer to confirm the reported errors.  I played along until she said that she wanted to transfer me to one of her partners.  I asked if they were going to ask to gain access to my computer?  She said "yes" in order to fix my computer.  I asked for a return phone number and said that I would get back to them.

I called MicroSoft, who confirmed that they NEVER call the customer.  I  then called  the real ProSys who does in fact work for MicroSoft.  They confirm that they are not calling to assist customers of Windows.

The 800 number that "Glory" gave me did not go through.  Two days later, Glory called back to "help me."  My wife answered the phone and told her to call back.  Also, the caller ID showed "Unknown Caller"

Glory called again (fourth or fifth) attempt.  I asked for an employee #.  She told me SO13.  I informed her that the prior 1800 number did not work, she gave me 800 626-1236 number.  Caller ID again show "Unknown Caller".

They called yesterday and I arranged for them to call me back today (their number is 1-800-626-1235) Here's what they are doing.
1. They get you to give them remote access to your machine.
2. They make it seem like there are some errors that they are fixing.
3. They launch a virus that locks up your machine.
4. They then tell you that you are hosed, but they can fix it for $$$$
Comcast security is trying to narrow them down based on the information that I provided and the info they have collected. Right now the scammers are operating outside of the US so there isn't much that can be done.

I was suspicious of the first THREE calls and didn't follow their instructions. I know you can't call my cell phone and tell me my windows updates aren't working. There is no way to see my computer and from there find out my cell phone number. I just kept stringing them along and getting as much information as I could. I called Comcast security and spoke to them and that's where I got more info on the scam. Their website is http://prosystech.us/ but I won't click on the links. I don't want a virus.

1 800 626 1235 - Seems to be a bogus call of people saying that your computer is out of date and needs updates. They are NOT affiliated with the computer companies, Microsoft, HP or anyone else. It's a random call from a data bank in India as near as I can tell. They should be reported.
