This number called my work- which is a crisis line - pressed for information regarding my home address.
I am not expecting any parcel and my home number is listed.
The caller gave her name as Laura Holmes and said she was calling from UPS.
When I returned the call there was no company greeting, only direction to enter the 4 digit extension, at the extension the only instruction was to leave a message

Just got a call from 1-800-627-6731 ext-2801
She said her name was Tina Tom but did not say a company name at all. She stated she got my name and number and would like to employ me?

1. I am currently employed already, but off on medical disability.

2. I haven't been job hunting at all lately and NEVER give out my phone number because I have telephonophobia.(before you ask, yes it's a real thing..)

So I'm guessing this is a new twist to their scam? Either way I won't be calling them back after reading the above posts! Thanks for your help everyone.

Got several calls over the last three weeks. Never called back. Never took the call. Said she was Lucy. How they are allowed to continue to do this surprises me. If they have your number they have your address.

This company called my cell phone first with a blocked number & when I didn't answer immediately called my husband's cell (blocked number again). I googled the number & it came up as A & B Courier HOWEVER, they have no such toll free number & no Tina Tom at ext 2514 working there! She said she was trying to get a hold of my husband (who she called by his full name) for an employment opportunity & that he came highly recommended by the person who gave her his name & number! When you call the number back there is NO company introduction, only a recording that tells you to "please enter the 4 digit number of the person you are calling" SCREW THAT! Beware of this number! God only knows who they are or what they want!

Weird, they called and knew my name, but when you call the number it goes into a automated voicemail prompting me to "please enter the four digit number you are trying to reach".  Pretty sure it's a scam because I've had my mailbox broken into and mail stolen a few months ago.

Sadie from ICS called my boss, telling her I had a parcel to be delivered. To call 1-800-627-6731 tracking #3335. There was only an automated message saying enter extension number of person I wanted to reach, I pressed "0" hoping to get an operator, that did not work. I called ICS and they did not have a Sadie, their tracking numbers are very different, but took all the information to report to their manager. I googled the number found out about this site, and emailed my boss. The next day they called  my boss again asking for me, and my boss asked a few questions, one of them was for the callers number. The person made up a story how apparently I left a number for her to call but it was the wrong number and I was never going to receive my parcel, if my boss did not give the caller my information. The caller ended up swearing on the phone and hung up when more questions were asked.

I had a message on my cel phone to call this number and - same thing .  No ring so i punched in the four digit number.  I didn't call from home, i called from a friend and in three minutes a Sadie called me back directly to my friends number.  She said she was from UPS.  Dumb move, i worked with UPS from my previous job and i know the tracking numbers are 16 digits long not 4.  She said she had a sears delivery that had been returned to Toronto.  I hung up but now WHOEVER it was has my friends number.
I am reporting it to the police.

Tara from Rapid Courier Services 800-627-6731 ext 3486 said my husband had a package redirected from The Source that ended up in Ontario.  She asked for our civic number. Couldn't tell us the senders information or a tracking number. They said the 10 Kilogram package was insured and he had to sign for it.  The packgage should be here by Friday by UPS courier.  We haven't ordered anything and none of our friends have ordered anything. I kept trying to call the number back, but kept getting dead air.  SCAM?!?

Okay "james", so cough up their details. Verifiable address, valid phone number, license numbers, the name of the collector who signed your "letter" etc...
You're not their friend, are you "james"? So you'll be wanting to help the folks here..right? Come on, prove their (and your) legitimacy.
I doubt you'll be responding"james". If you do, don't try to feed us crap. We'll see through you for exactly what you, most probably, are. A desperate and failing fraudulent debt collector who knows he can't work anywhere else. Because you're a dead-beat and a loser and bogus debt collecting is the last line of work you can qualify for.

What is wrong with all you people?!
I got a call also, and within days of the call I got an envelope that was trying to get to me from CRA.  Not that I wanted it, however, I got it and signed for it.

Anyway sounds like you people owe money, and pissed off that someone found you. So people, pay your bills and then the paranoia will go away!

Received call from Lucy stating she was with ICS Courier and needed my personal address for a delivery. She left a phone number 18006276731 ext. 9980. It's a non specific general number that simply asks you to leave a message. It's a scam the exact type is unknown but there is damage that can be done if someone is crafty and has your full name and home address.

I later called ICS and was advised they would never request this type of information from there clients and not to give out such information. The number above is not associated to there company. There is also no Lucy working for them as a public service contact.

Rafael called me from 800-627-6731 ext. 4294 and said he was with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.  I called the number back and same story it was just a non descript voicemail with a female voice that says leave a message.  The second message he left me he said that he was going to have to come down to my work if I didn't return his call.  Returned call and again the same thing, went straight to voicemail.  Feels a lot like a scam to me,

this is a scam, what do they get out of this    Help me out    They called two of my neighbours, saying it was the Canada Post office and the other ICS Courier.  they needed our address to deliver a parcel that got redirected.   I found out the company who is billed for this number is Qwest/LCI International   I think this is a chargeable offence, first by stating they are the Canada Post and also ICS Courier.   Hmmm   this is not over think I will look more into this, telephone hackers, want to help   I am going to start first by getting the local number that the toll number points too and start tracking

You are scamming, why, no idea, but my daughter did call the police and report it I also checked the ICS courier web site and entered in the package number plus the number  1 800 627 6731 that was calling.   Great company, they called me back and said that they was not there toll number or package number.   She was going to her manager to check the toll numbers What you guys get out of this no idea, the person you said you were delivering a package for, passed away last year.LOL   Pick on someone who does not know the toll number data base    I will check with Qwest/LCI International

I too just got a call from this company, they called my inlaws house and left a message to call back 1-800-627-6731 Raffael at extension 4125. the message was left with my inlaws that they were with corrections canada and it was regarding a correctional investment program. i called the number back and got a voicemail that didnt state a company name and all i could do was to type in the extension i was trying to reach. i hung up, checked out the corrections canada phone numbers on their page and of course no match. I work in security so i guess that the person calling knew that and tried to get me to call back using that scam. but government agencies would have a proper voicemail stating what department you called etc, and i knew that, which is what prompted me to check out the number online.
how stupid can this company really be? and to be dumb enough to fraudulently state that they are with corrections canada.
although i have some debt like us all, i have a new home number that i have not been able to use as it has been busy with more then 50 telemarketing calls a day everything from duct cleaning to window installations, i stopped using the home phone and left a nasty message on my phone to tell solicitors that the phone will not be getting answered any time soon, thank god for cell phones i can live without my home phone easily.
well raffael i wont be calling anytime soon.
BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER, I WONT BE RETURNING MY CALL TO THEM

Well I too have recieved some of these calls saying that I had a parcel that needed to be delivered that it was pre-paid, insured and due to the value of the package would need a signature for the delivery.   Silly me wanting to know the company because all that was left was "The Courier Company" getting no person answering just the enter the extention number and leave your message I hung up thinking it was for sure a scam.  "Tara" called me back stating that she needed to have all my info and she started with "what is your name".  She did not like it when I gave her problems.  She then hung up on me.  Then I got another call about this so called package This time from "Package Express" from a man this time that didn't identify himself just left a parcel number,  (the extention number really)  funny both these people left the same phone number 1-800-627-6731.  Package Express is a real company however their phone number is not a 1-800 number and they are in BC.  Lesson learned on that one

I have worked for A & B Courier for a long time, and I assure you this number does not belong to us.  I have been unsuccessful to track down "Tara" or "Kelly" or whoever it is attempting to get additional information.  If anyone would like to report another incident or have any questions, please contact us at our real phone number: (905)853-4444 ext. 222.

**To the company or persons responsible for using our name fraudulently, stop immediately or we will seek legal action.**

I too have had a call from Tara 1-800-627-6731 ext 3612 supposedly from A & B Couriers in Toronto. They have a parcel for my son which is from The Source but he has never ordered anything from them.
They have our complete address but don't know they can deliver it. I believe that it is a telemarketer and they do seem to have a lot of personal info. I am reporting this to the telephone scam  peoplmaybe they can stop it.

Received the same as all of you but get this one they called my entire family.

Total scam don't waste your time, but if they call me again I have a few words for them as "TARA" was also extremely rude to my daughter, at this point they don't want to get me on the phone.

Thinking about reporting this to the police as they have info that no one should have on anyone.

Prank Call
Received a call from the same number, "Nicole." Same story, a package rerouted to Ottawa. However, she said the parcel was addressed to a Laura Z., which is not my name. But I have a new land line number (Rogers) and, unfortunately, I receive plenty of calls for other people, mostly from collection agencies and telemarketers - I may scrap this Rogers line altogether.

I called the number and the line was simply dead. I then called from my cell, same thing, the line was dead, it did not ring. So this could be some type of tracking ploy as well. I wanted to do the right thing and inform them that they had the wrong number, but instead, I'm afraid I also left them my cell number.
My lesson learned: Do not return calls from any 800, 866, 877, 888 numbers! Ever.

I have received a message to call 1-800-627-6731 x7879 with contact person Martha. After reading all above post, I wouldn't bother calling.

Well, this is so called "Rapid Courier" company also checking out this post and read the response from Kelly: "Just so you all know the company is real, and even though I was a bit weary at the time I have come to realize that sometimes things do happens and packages get lost".

All courier companies now using tracking system, so packages don't get lost anymore. If I order something online they only would have my email not my phone # and also they don't ask for receipient's phone information.

BE AWARE...... SCAMMERS.

Kelly, perhaps you are telling the truth or perhaps...if they ARE a collection company, you work for them.....I am guessing the latter by the way..

In either event, any courier service that has no outgoing name of the company on thier phone system, no one to speak to unless they call you and their phone number does not reflect the name of the comapny.....seems a bit too fishy for me.

I will choose to not fall for this and IF it is a real courier company...I can do without the fruitcake from the relatives that was sent at Christmas anyway.

I also received a few calls from this number.   They wanted to have it rerouted to my work address.  Likely a bill collector trying to get information.     Said the were with Rapid Courier.  I asked were the package was from, they said Ottawa.    I will not waste my time with them again.

So I to received a call from this company stating they had a package for me a couple of days ago, I was very nervous because I wasn't expecting anything. Anyways today I got a knock at my door and it was the courier driver delivering my package.
It turned out to be a early surprise birthday present from a family member( who had sent it 1 1/2 months ago and it ended up lost and in Ottawa Ontario). A little scary but wonderful ending.

Just so you all know the company is real, and even though I was a bit weary at the time I have come to realize that sometimes things do happens and packages get lost.

Funny... These pranks are getting out of hand.
I pretty much experienced the same type of call from this Courier Service on Monday June 4/2012 @ 11:30amEST .
This morning a lady called my mother-in-law, asking for my home number because she needed to contact me to arrange the delivery of a parcel that ended up in Ottawa. Now I am expecting a small package from EBay, however I have a tracking # and the parcel is still in the U.S.
The funny thing is this lady called my cell and left me a message to call Tara @ 1-800-627-6731 ext. 3900. She also stated my full address on her message. What puzzles me is how the heck did she know how to call my in-laws to try to get my personal info!!! Weird!!!
I have returned the call, however there is no answer... All it does is beeps and allows you to record a message...
So ladies and gents beware and be smart on what info you give out to these jerks. It's just all wasted time, however I would like to know their intent.
