SCAM! - TLG hotlines # listed is 800-633-3985. I did not get a call from these people, nor have I done business with them at all!  But as I checked my account on-line today I did have a $119.99 charge show up on my US Bank account.

I had to talk with their fraud department and get my card cancelled. It sounds like they are taking care of it but I will have to watch closely!

I called tlghotline with tel 18006333985 last Sept. 24, 2012  for charges amounting to  $119.99 , I called them about this charges and they said that its an annual automatic recurring renewal for credit protection. I understand I did not have any contract signed with them and I remember similar complaint was called unto them a years ago. They debited my credit card $107.46 last Sept 28,2012. This is short by $12.53.

BEWARE of this CHEATING.

SCAM! I was charged 119.00 dollars! I called my credit card company and they immediately took it off of my account. This company is FRAUDULENT! I have never even heard of the company let alone given them my information yet it appeared on my statements. I'm currently trying to bring this to public attention and calling the proper authorities.

They did not call me.  A charge did, however appear on my debit card statement.  My bank reversed the charge immediately  and it is being filed as fraudulent activity.

My elderly mother had these charges from TLG hotline put on her Capital One Visa card. I have recently taken over her financial affairs and looked back and they've been charging her account since Oct of last year to the tune of almost $200 a month. I called the credit card company and they quickly took the charges off her card and started a fraud investigation. They seemed to know that this company was a scam. I hope someone puts them out of business. The whole "$8 check" thing is SO deceptive. I did notice some Haband packets in my mother's mail.

Any company that has to resort to these kinds of tactics to get people enrolled in their services are the lowest from of scam artists...and they prey on the elderly especially.

I had her credit card cancelled and a new one sent. I will be monitoring this situation closely.

I DID not receive a call from this company but I am writing to tell you what can expect when you CANCEL. I singed up for a free promotion and found out that this company was part of it. TLG Hotline offers credit card protection in case your card is lost or stolen.

Call 1-800-468-5463 press 0 to connect with an operator

Ask for Membership Department. You should be connect with someone who will try to tell you I can offer you a chance to stay with us for X amount of dollars...you have to be firm with your NO. You maybe asked for a reason as to why you are canceling your services with them so give a honest reason.

(Names of whom your speaking with should be given during this whole process just so you know...name not given ask for it.)

NOTE Hours of operation for Membership Department: EST Monday-Friday 9am-10pm Saturday 9am-5pm

If you call after the Membership Department is Closed you may have to call back. (That is what happen to me. I wasn't the happiest person since I couldn't take care of my business right then and there but I did get the matter resolved promptly during office hours.)

A Cancellation Number should be given to you. Write it down for your records.

Best of luck

Thank you Elaine! Beware of free trial offers. I did something similar as you, a free trial offer to get a free credit report. I later canceled the "free" services only to find out that there was a third party involved which so happens to be this TLG*Hotline. I now know better when I hear the word "free trial offer" to stay far a way from it.

To cancel your membership or to cancel in general call
1-800-468-5463 press number 3

You will be transformed after talking to a live person to membership department which keeps its office hours Monday-Friday 9am-10pm Saturday 9am to 5pm.  EST

Calling on Sundays is unwise since you can't be transfer to the membership department. Holidays are also observed so do keep that in mind when you call.

Hope this helps.

I received my credit card statement 8-27-2011 and I was billed $119.99 from a place called TLG*HOTLINE. I never did business with these people and went on line and found out there many other people scammed by TLG*HOTLINE. I will be going to the bank 8-30-2011 as my card is through independant bank and try to get this removed from my credit card. I dont how they got my credit card number. I never agreed to anything on a phone call or otherwise. There phone number is 800-633-3985.

It seems Visa is the one who provides the information and allows TLG*Hotline to charge to my Visa.  Shame on both Visa and TLG on tricking people into this scam!

I also was charged 59.99 from a company called TLG*HOTLINE  866-447-1802   Even stated I had an account number and stated yes for credit card protection when activating my card.    I tried to be nice after 3 times of saying "please remove and refund my 59.99"   They kept trying to say they offer.....   I finally got mad.   Told them I did not authorize any charge or service and want it removed now.    They stated that it would take up to 2 month to remove and credit.    Here's hoping.  They did give me a cancellation number and I plan on following up.   With added research I found that this company is a scam and continues to try to tack on fees to other cards and can sometimes be very difficult to remove charge. I am hoping that isn't the case  for me.

I just received my statement from USBank and a charge of 119.99 appeared from TLG*HOTLINE plus the phone #8006333985.  I checked on my computer first to find out what the charge was about since I did not recognize the name and I received all of the above information which was very helpful.  I then called my credit card company and was told that since this was a reaccuring charge that I would have to take it up with TLG.  I then realized that this was the same charge I had contested last year.  I was one who sighned up for the trial offer and then cancelled, I thought.  I then called TLG and got a very polite but persistant young man.  After I kept insisting that I had already cancelled he finally asked me for a cancelation number.  I just kept insisting that I had cancelled and was not going to pay this.  I finally got him to say that they will remove the charge but I now have another cancelation number and I am afraid I will go through this again next year. Moral of the story beware of trial offers.

I just found out that I was charged $119.99 on my credit card which I had no idea what that was for.  The description says "Tlg*hotline xxxxxx 866-914-4688, so I called this phone number and asked them what kind of company they are.  The lady said "Cablevision".  I was like "ah, so what do you do??", and she goes "we're the cable company".  "Cablevision" is located somewhere in East Coast (according to the google search) and I live in West Coast.  There is no way that I use their service.  I called my credit card company and they took care of it right away.  They're going to change my credit card number as well.  Though, I want to know why this happened....

Just found the same thing on my cc bill - $119.99.  Called the 866-914-4668 and told them I didn't know who they were and there was no way I ever authorized this charge.  Joann then said she would be happy to credit my account $98.somechange.  I told her no, you'll credit my cc $119.99.  She tried to explain that the difference was to pay for my membership for the time used in the billing cycle until my cancellation today.  I explained that I don't have a membership with them and that the $119.99 needs to be credited t my cc.  She finally obliged.  Join us next month when we find out if Joann is as good as her word and will she marry John who really loves Mavis who is the mother of ... :^)

I am so glad I saw your (Cindy) msg -- my dad died June of last year!  And here a charge showed up on my dad's Macy's bill -- I called the 800-633-3985 number and they were very, very nice -- however, they said that this was an acct my dad had since 1992.  Hmm, well, I don't recall ever seeing this charge before.  Anyway, "Hillary" stated that she would delete the charge and close the acct.  I will check back in 7-10 days and see if the charge was deleted.
