This is the number for the "Operations Portfolio Review" department at Discover Card, where they review your credit history and make decisions on whether to raise or lower your credit limit, or even close the account entirely. If they are contacting you, they want more information about your other credit cards and can get quite personal, even making veiled threats if you don't cooperate.
They act more like bill collectors than customer service reps.

Same as ConnteW account review, I verified the call was legit.

I got a letter in the mail from Discover - asking me to call this number. Said they are conducting a routine account review and would like to speak with me to update the information on my account. "Please be prepared to update your financial information, including employment and income."
After speaking to Discover, did they reduce your credit line?

This is Discover wanting to evaluate your income and debt ratio to determine whether to cut or increase your credit line (usually cut). I verified the call several ways by having the agent tell me various facts only Discover would know about the account.
