Then maybe before you threatened to sue someone you should have checked with your wife!!!! Clearly she did fill out a mortgage quote request form and provided your phone number. Maybe you should call him back to apologize and if you did overeact and call the FCC then the right thing to do would be to withdraw your complaint.
Mr. Shepard was just doing is job and being persistent like any good sales person is. Can you blame him???....like the first guy told you either him or his company had to pay $30 to lending tree for the opportunity to speak with you.

JMP 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Another partial application filled out on Lending Tree and I also get calls everyday from 18006351413 any way to stop these? I don't remember even listing my number on the application.
Chris 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown

VB 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Same scenario. Did not complete the application from Lending tree. I now get daily calls from that number.
Debbie 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Same as everyone else. When I realized how much info Lending Tree wanted just to make an inquiry, I stopped filling in the app. Now my phone is ringing daily from this number. Bummer !
pam 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown

Drea 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Getting calls daily after partially completing app on lending tree did not want to give out that much info. Now when I answer to ask them not to call I get hung up on.
Louise Small 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
I have not filled out any applicaton from any credit agency, but keep getting calls from this number. How can I stop the calls?
rick 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
I called the number back and told them to stop callign me, dont know if they were lying but told me i would be put on the list to stop getting calls
jeff 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
just as a note, guys, when you're filling out a mortgage application, unless you're just doing it for fun, then you need to give your social security number. you see, companies need to pull this thing called your credit score to see if you're approved for the amount that you want.
Ken 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
I had 3 call todays, same story. Bummer!
john doe 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
same as everyone else, I've gotten two calls from them today and its only 2pm!
Marge 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
I started to fill out an application and quit now I'm getting calls from that number all the time.
P 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
same here. I filled up the form aprtially and when I saw the SSN, I quit. but got 2 calls already from them today.
ColdCalled 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
aha! so that is what that was about. I did the same thing - partially filled it out and then saw how much info they require just for a preliminary inquiry. Plus, I just wasn't in the market at this time for the product I was inquiring about. So, I abandoned my app. Yet, they cull/phish this info just from the abandoned form! Makes you wonder what other phishing programs are out there when you abandon info online.
I am going to go local for broker quotes from now on. And I live in the headquarters of Lending Tree.
Hey, just so you know, I bet they know about this site and read this feedback that we are all posting. So, type what you want them to know and your preferences. THis isn't giving them the best PR. I actually liked Lending Tree. i am not sure it is the most competitive. We used it with our first mortgage and then our second. I think with the next one, we probably plan to go with a local broker and not do the online thing. Just so much info out there and I am not sure all those brokers really are competing. I tried hard to get them to reduce things, but they just talk a party line and say how they can't. I don't believe it. I just would like to figure out how to negotiate a way better mortgage rate and closing costs instead of what they offer as 'rock bottom'.
Sean 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Just got my first call from them today after I left an application incompleted yesterday. I also got an e-mail today.
I didn't want to complete the app because I didn't want them pulling my credit report. If I continue getting calls as seems to be the pattern, I will definitely boycott them, and also let all my friends and family know what happens if they use Lending Tree. If others do this, too, hopefully it will be enough bad publicity for them to stop using these tactics.
Ruf 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Call them back at 800 555-8733 (press 0) and ask that your number be put on their "do not call" list.
If you don't get on their list you'll be getting more calls from other companies that have bought your number from the Lending Tree.
I'm getting their calls because some ahole gave them my number as their own.
LDL 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
The same with me, all the information they want, I said no way. I've had calls every day for a week.
Ed 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Same story...filled out partial application, then got out. Have no idea how they have my number. I just got this number a few days ago, it's a cell number in my business name. This is ridiculous.
Ed 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Same story. I partially filled out an application at LendingTree.com
The next day, I received phone call from this number.
Ugh 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
I also did the same thing, I hope they do not keep calling.
Carolyn 2011-06-06 20:58:11 Unknown
Partially filled out a loan app. Then, I changed my name. Now I get phone calls at once a day from Lending Tree.
Ivan 2011-03-03 18:10:20 Unknown
Has been calling my cell 2 - 3 times a day.
I called them back, yes lending tree and asked them to remove my number from their auto dialer, he took my number and said he would get it to his manager.
