I sometimes splurge for a stamp, enclose some street slang on a piece of paper, then mail it off to the crooks. Always tell them to "Get a real job!"

Report this, and file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. No identification came for the car that was "losing" its coverage. They get your card number from the dealer, or whoever shares, and then they go to work. No, they are not capable of getting a real job.
The same applies to "Cardholder Services" who says they can lower your interest rates. Phony scam. The FCC need to hear about these con artists, so they can earn their taxpayer dollars over there.

Got the same letter.  Only difference mine was postmarked Fort Lauderdale fl.  I'm trying desperately to get them reported.  Some people will assume they have to hurry and protect themselves.  I called my dealer and they even said it is a scam.  Hope someone out there knows how to bring these guys down.  I'm going to try .  When I called  them to find out what was going on the girl I got was extremely defensive and told me how reputable they are. That they were a AAA rated company.  When I told her what I was going to do she hung up on my and dared me to do anything about the company.  By the way, my extended policy is good till 2019. She told me it was expiring on April12th 2014.  Anyone out there have any good ideas on how to stop them ???

You speak a strong line of work ethics and conviction, but your company fails to uphold your words. You know as well as all of us that your so-called company is a pure scam, and that you have nothing on which to support your insurance extension claims. Sir, if you need to write a blog rebuttal about your business being ethical, then something is deadly wrong. Ethical businesses get great comments and referrals. Your "company" receives 100% complaints. So, don't go pointing a finger at someone who is expressing dissatisfaction about this scam. I suggest you remove yourself as a worker in this scam and get yourself a REAL job... one you can be proud of.

You're an idiot apr. First off, the poster provided legal documentation about the financial plight of MFIC (Marathon Financial Insurance Company). You do realize that THAT company parent firm is Marathon Group. 2nd, on Marathon Group main website, there is no mention of Automotive Professional Resources as being a Marathon Group "company" or partner. That's because APR is under MFIC. Shouldn't YOU be doing your own homework since you work for the company?

Yes, you do attempt to sell products and you find no fault in that. Burglars who sell stolen goods find no fault in that either.

I have received numerous calls from this number and there is never a message left.  I have received at least three letters in the mail stating that I could get an extended warrantee for my car up to 100,000 miles.  It said it was the final notice.  Stupid me, I called the number on the letter and was answered by a young sounding African American girl.  She asked for the code number on the letter, and I gave it to her.  After a few minutes she explained that I could get an extended auto warrantee on my car.  I asked her what the warrantee covered and she said everything,,, the transmission, the motor, the ac, the brakes, and several other things.  She asked what condition my car was in and what the mileage was.  I told her that I wasn't interested in her warrantee and that my car has well over 100,000 miles on it already.  She was rude and snappy.  She said that she would put me on the Protector 5 Enhanced plan which would cover my car for an additional 100,000 miles and 5 years.  I asked her how much and she said $758.00 per year.  I said that I would likely use 100,000 in three years, so did that mean that I would pay for three years?  She said I would pay $758.00 per year for five years and that it would only cover 100,000 miles whether I used the mileage or over used the mileage.  She asked for my credit card number to get the warrantee started, to bill my account $758.00.  I told her to take my name and number off of her companies list.  She laughed so I hung up.

I am on the DNC list and have been for many years.  They do nothing.  Calling the BBB to complain does nothing also.  There are so many of these idiots out there with the only goal of ripping people off and taking their money.  I think the only way these people can be stopped is to take legal action and sue them, but unfortunately that is hard to do because we don't have copies of the phone calls.

I hope people just don't fall for scams like this one...

I also received one of their mailers... again. I'm guessing the whole "2ND ATTEMPT", "REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION" and "5 YEARS IMPRISONMENT" warnings are their attempt at sounding as if it's a trusted official government notice. To me it's laughable. But then again, it concerns me because there will be some people who will fall for this scam. When I called them to ask why they had to send such an urgent/threatening mailer, he told me everyone who sends out mailers does it. Riiiight.
There's nothing "TIME SENSITIVE" about it... except for the fact that they want your money as soon as possible.

My friend got me a job at this company, and I wish I would have followed my gut feeling before ever working for these idiots!! She showed my checkstubs, and that's what persuaded me to work for them. Dumbest decision I've ever made in my life.

Please excuse the french you're about to endure.
These people are a f****ng joke. They act like they're high and mighty, it's ran by grown a** men who don't have ANY morals, or education, or anything with life. They all smoke pot on their breaks, and allow plenty of sexual harassment. They are SO unprofessional... It disgusts me to say that I had to work for this company, so glad I left!!!

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!
Yes, it says second attempt, yes it says "$2,000 fine" but it's all B***S***. That fine they speak about is in relation to any other piece of  mail, you open someone's mail, it's a federal offense, if you're too uneducated to know your rights, I am sorry.

Don't call and ask to be removed from the list, because there are TONS of AP codes that are going to be sent out to you that are all separate. However, do call, so that you can ruin the closing percentage of these people. Don't give them your code..... But, ask them why they don't have morals.
One girl wouldn't sell to a man because he had PTSD, and she felt bad. What did these f**** do? Scream at her!!! She walked out in tears after she asked them if they were familiar with what it was, Kenneth Bell replied to her "I don't give a f*** what it is, you should have sold it! Would you rather have morals or money in your pocket at the end of the day?"
They will take an elderly person's LAST dollar if they can, they beat them up and banter with them on the phone until they get a credit card number. How can you sleep at night?!

I TRULY hope this company gets shut down... The warranty is bogus, it doesn't cover really ANYTHING, and you can get one for half of the cost at your local credit union.

Please, people, spread the word, let it be known that APR or AUTOMOTIVE [UN]PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES are running a scam.

I received the same 2nd attempt notice with all the garbage about fines for interfering with delivery yadda yadda yadda...

Funny thing is, they were trying to sell me an "extended service contract" on a vehicle that was totaled in 2010. Also? They were using my maiden name. Like everyone else here, I had not received a "1st notice" so the "2nd notice" was telling.

For some reason lately I've been up to my eyeballs in scammers. I am receiving mail for these types of "service contracts" for a variety of products I own in addition to the emails from Nigeria and at least twice daily I receive those really automated phone calls that claim that I am late on a credit card payment (never made a late payment in my life, I have perfect credit) and that I need to punch in my card number and expiration date and hang on the line to straighten things out and make a payment plan. I am sick to death. Automotive Professional Resources just happened to send their little missive at exactly the wrong time which is why I ended up shooting a letter off to them that was full of expletives and informing them that I had forwarded their letter to the FTC, the Better Business Bureau and Toyota to inform the dealership that their customers were being targeted so that perhaps they could arm them with information about these types of scams.

And I felt better after that.

I took a job with this company without knowing anything about them or how they do business. Let me first state the obvious, YES, this is a scam and they are very proud of what they do. Every person working the phones for APR knows it's a scam, but they really don't care.
If you look at their contract for their "Proterctor 5 Enhanced" warranty you will see that the contract is written so that the company never has to pay any claims. Here is a link to their contract:  http://www.autoprofessionalresources.com/wp-c ... -5-Enhanced.pdf

Employees are trained that due to legal reasons they can not say certain words during the recorded call such as warranty. This is because what they are selling is a "product warranty", not a vehicle warranty. If you listen closely to their sales pitch you will notice that they slip in the words "product warranty" several times in key places where the person calling in usually doesn'y catch it. Everything the sales people say on the phone has been carefully scripted by lawyers to exploit loopholes in the laws of California.

In short, if you purchase a "product warranty from this company do not ever expect them to pay for any repairs.

Here is a link to their company web site for those interested: http://www.autoprofessionalresources.com/

FYI - the "product warranty" they are selling is nothing more than a bottle of oil additive which they are selling for $3,640. You can go into any automotive parts store and pick up a bottle of a similar product for around $25 and get the same warranty.

APR,  please get out of this unethical business before it's too late.  Get an education. Get a job you can be proud of instead of trying to scare people into buying a product they neither want nor need.  Surely, you have some goal other than to deceive people and trick them out of their hard earned cash.  You can't possibly feel good about yourself at the end of the day knowing you've bilked someone out of their savings just because they're afraid not to have a warranty.  These warranties are NOT good.  Every consumer report warns against them and you...yes APR, your company has a very bad reputation.  You might want to check out what Car and Driver magazine has to say about 3rd. party auto warranties.  It's not good.

A scoundrel by any other name is just as slimy!  If you're so proud of your company, then your call center shouldn't be refusing to identify who you REALLY are.  Any inquiry about company history or background just gets shuffled off to "well, we can have a representative call you back".  The BBB doesn't know who "Automotive Professional Resources" are.  Yes, Marathon Group is known, but there seems to be a gaping disconnect between the affiliation of one company with the other -- other than YOUR say so.

Your tactics STINK!  Yes-- by all means, try to play the slimy game of "second attempt" and warnings and fines and all the other B.S. that has no place whatsoever in a legitimate business approach.  If it slithers like a snake-- it's probably a snake!
