Collection folks trying to confirm the number for their collectors. They are "spoofing" phone numbers possibly associated with you, then calling you to confirm it's you. If you answer and identify, next comes the rookie collector calls. Kinda how a process server would say, "Hey Mister Jones?" before they hand mister Jones a summons. What a great job, huh? Someone gets paid to do this!

Your advertisement on T.V. with the idiot throwing rocks through the windshields of houses and.cars is the most distasteful example of idiotic advertising.   Even young in the.home..commenon the negative, idiotic message it passes on.     Many adult and young neighbors agree in the ridiculous, negative, modeling of behavior this commercial displsys.    It is beyond stupid..........and really very negative and so far frim funny........really just appalling!!!  If it isn't pulled..............our neighborhood is ready for DISH!!

why do they call and not say a danged thing??? Best way to eliminate this is when you answer the phone, start dialing the # # # # # key rapidly. This confuses the auto dialer that randomly calls your number and it kicks your number out as a bad number. NO MORE CALLS!!!

I am all for getting 800 calls that are not bill collectors, but i WORK during the day 8 to 5 and this number called me every day for a week between 2 and 4 pm. I finally had enough and called back. It is cable one, it is a courtesy call to see if I was having any questions regarding my service. I requested, as nicely as possible, that they either leave a message and call only once or do not call at all. So irritating

I get these calls at least once a week... usually during work hours so I can't answer anyways. But they never leave a message so I figure that's their problem.

They called and it rang once then hung out. I called back and they identified themselves as cable one. It was a lady I talked to and she said that was the automatic dialer system that hangs up after one ring. I could have sworn that auto dialers were made illegal to use in the late 80's... Anyway, she was disturbing my very important study time in order to ask me if I like my servies. I told her no and they i'll be switching to mid-continental as soon as they made the move into Fargo. She continued the conversation asking me if I wanted to upgrade me services. Really... Why would I want to upgrade my service after I'm already making it clear that I dont like their service. How annoying is all this.

Called about 30 minutes ago.Did not answer.

it's cable one.  local customer service has no information about why that number would be calling, or at least they didn't when i went looking for more information.

Keep getting these calls, mostly in the last week.  I'm surprised that so many are experiencing this same issue.

I received a call from 800-642-9045 today that I ignored.  Did not leave a message.  I called the number, it is CableOne.  I just cancelled my service yesterday.

I do have cable one but I have been getting these calls at least once a week. They always hang up. It's on my cell phone and it irritates the garbage out of me that they call and I have to pay for that wasted call. Never have left a message.  I have had my cell and home number listed with the Do not call list for several years and always keep it updated.
Get rid of these irritating pests pronto!

If Cable one is actually the one calling there will be an automated message to have you call them back. if there is no automated message don't call the number back. I had revceived a call on two consecutive days one was actually Cable one the other was not.

Just got a call from this number, they did not leave a message. Said it was Cable One, just a "courtesy call". No big deal, but I wish they'd just leave a message.

Have received several calls from this number with no message left. I do have a CableOne account, so perhaps I am also receiving "courtesy calls." I did try to call the number back, like one of the previous posters said, but the phone rang twice and the line went dead. Guess I will wait and see if they call again.

I've missed this call at least 8 times in the past 3 months. Today I called back and listened to the automated voice recording about "cable one courtesy call." I left a message after the beep. Told them my cable one was fine and they don't need to call me so much. We'll see if this helps.

I have also received calls from this number, about 10 missed in the last two weeks at the same time in the afternoon.  Pretty bad deal.

This is someone doing some phishing over the phone.  I haven't been able to figure out exactly who it is.  They are probably "ghosting" a Cable One number.  I called back and they started asking me all these questions that Cable One would already know about me since I have their service.  A company is not going to call and ask you information they already have.  It's a waste of their time.  Don't give out any information unless you know you have called a Cable One number that is published in the phone book or in their literature.

Finally answered this call after reading these other posts.  The girl on the line said it was a "courtesy call" from Cable One and asked how my internets had been running.  I told her it was fine and said I had noticed they had been relentlessly calling my phone for the past week, and I wanted to be removed from their call list.  She said "I'm sorry sir, and I can certainly take care of that for you" then she hung up on me.  It makes me wonder if it even was cableone.  It was probably some undercover facists from the RIAA trying to frame me for something I didn't do, just like that old retarded lady they busted...and that one little kid they sued for like a billion dollars.

I got a call today and I called it back.  First time they hung up on me so I called back.  I told cableone rep that I recieved a missed call from that number and she asked for my number.  I gave it to her and she said that it didn't pull anything up and then asked if I had a cableone account.  I told her yes and she stated that it was probably just a curtosy call to let them know if we were having problems blah blah....

They have called me every day at the same time on my cell phone and have never left a message, irritating.

got one today, no response when i answered.  this is not the first time.  my cableone account is not in collections, either.  but their customer service is pathetic.
