I was called by a rep of this company years ago (and under the assumption that I had a credit card), they wanted to subscribe me to magazine subs for 5 years totaling $1073. No thank you.

They got me with this scam also, except I got a letter from them saying I owed $31.57 per month for 21 months, then they took (I MEAN STOLE) $49.40 from my debit card and want that much every month and told me on our next to last phone conversation that I need to fax a copy of this form to them cuz they have no record of it (but I do) so our last phone contact was from some lady in the COLLECTIONS dept. She said she cant cancel my subsricption, and wants $140 or something like that. they wont stop sending magazines and not just the 6 listed on this paperwork but dozens of other titles also, reading the above comments from others whom have had dealings with these crooks made me feel better,I'm getting ready to write a few letters now, the AG the BBB and anybody else I can think of.

What is the worst that can happen? It depends. It depends on if you actually signed up for this scam and they have proof. Then you are screwed. If you didnt sign up for this or you think they lack proof (which they usually do not) then send them a certified letter asking for proof. If they dont respond in writing they cant do anything. If they do respond in writing you must decide if their proof is sufficient. That is what they will use to sue you. If they have good proof (I doubt it) then you should make payment arrangements. If they dont then tell them to pound sand. If they sue you have a valid defense. Dont talk to these jerks on the phone. Send the dispute letter and decide how you wish to proceed based on their response (or lack of).

The Attorney General threat always works and they will cancel, but you MUST do more than just contact them through phone. Also you must ACTUALLY follow through with the attorney general threat even if they said they canceled your subscription. That way you have it documented. I immediately went to my bank when I was charged, and filed this complaint with the BBB and the three Credit Bureaus. In addition, I asked them for their mailing address and mailed them a letter requesting for a written cancellation. When I mailed it, I made sure that they had to sign for it so I know they got it. A week after I sent out the letter threatening to take this to court if I don't have visual evidence of my cancellation, I get a letter in the mail with all the details of the canceled subscription. Just keep everything in recored so that if it was a lie, you have it all documented so you can't get in trouble.

Mail to:
Century Marketing Inc.
344 Grove Street
Suite 50
Jersey City, NJ 07302

The customer service manager that mailed me back was named Thomas Sampson and signed the page as well. I had never spoken with a Thomas Sampson ANY time I was on the phone. Just make sure you get everything in writing.

AND REMEMBER:
Tons of people make the same mistakes we made, so don't let this ruin your life like it did mine for 4 months. Just stay relaxed, contact your bank immediately, and do whatever is necessary to get it in writing. You will receive your money back as well!!!

They called me and wouldn't take no for an answer. I told them I would get back to them with another credit card number because I didn't want them using the one they already had before they called me. They took money out of my account anyways. This company is totally fraud.

My son received a letter from a company that prints this number on their letter. It concerns a subscription order for 6 different magazines, most up to 5 years in duration, for a total cost of over $1000. And the first installment was taken out of his bank account. The only problem is that he never contacted this company and never ordered any magazines. I am contacting the AG of Montana.
