Report them immediately to the Attorney Generals office. This can be done online from your computer. It's fast.

In Texas, I have reported numerous companies to the TX Attorney Generals office. I get a letter from their office sometimes but either way... the calls stop.

Also, if you talk to the caller, interrupt them & talk over them saying something like "I have reported you to the Attorney Generals Office" 'Do you understand" ---- no matter what they say ---- ignore & talk over them saying "I consider you calls harassment" & "I have reported you to the Attorney Generals office. Do you understand?" then hang-up.

Umpteenth call, I've repeatedly requested to be removed from their call list. I keep receiving messages for a Jolinda Bishop.

They Called my house and my parents answered. They told me to call back. I'm NOT!!!

Recieved call from 800-646-1336.  They left Reference number.  Recieved 2nd call. They left name of "Jim Linch".  Called them back, they answered "CCA".  It was for AT&T Wireless (formally Cingular).  Looked up "CCA".  Maybe Collection Company of America.

Called at work looking for me but didnt leave a real message. Googled it and CCa comes up with a million possibilites.

I am currently in the Air Force and I had to switch to verison due to the location of my orders.  I payed all my bills online and on time.  When I switched over from AT&T, they told me that my accound no longer existed and there was no balance on me.  I figured everything worked out.  I recieved a call from a "Private Number" today and it was someone from this CCA.  They were very rude and insited that I pay them over the phone.  They kept on interupting me wich is very unprofessional and will not be tolerated.  I spoke with the individual's manager and recieved the same treatment.  I then hung up on them and called AT&T.  They pulled up my previous acount and ensured it was a 0 balance and that I have nothing to worry about.  It took less than 10 minutes. I called back the CCA number to let them know and spoke to a Ms. Washington.  She is the MOST rude person I have ever talked to.  I had to repeatedly ask for her manage about 8 times while she kept on trying to get me to dial some "Direct line AT&T."  The manager said that my account may be balanced with AT&T NOW, but if I dont give them money today, they will ruin my credit for the next 7 years.  I do NOT respond to threats, period.  This company is garbage, dont deal with them.  Contact AT&T directly becuase it feels like they are trying to scam people into giving them money.  I asked why they hadnt called me sooner and she told me that they "Called me 6 times this week."  My phone is on 24/7 becuase I am on call at all times. Never recieved a call.

Had a voicemail left on my answering machine by a woman with a thick accent that I could barely understand. She left a phone number 1800-646-1336 to call back immediately with a reference number. When I called the number, a very rude man answered and asked me for my home number. When I asked what the call was in reference to- he was short with me and said he could not pull up my information without it. (It begs the question why I was given a reference number) After giving him the number he told me that I had a past due balance of ~$50 from my AT&T bill and that they had already shut my account down and I needed to pay the balance. I hung up on him stating that I would call AT&T and he insisted that I couldn't handle it this way. I then called AT&T (using my cell phone that he claimed had been shut down) and reported the incident to them. They confirmed that I had no outstanding balance and submitted a "Fraud Referral" form to report the issue. She stated that it was an affiliate scam and not valid.

Call for my husbands X.  Now granted, she owes everyone and their brother money, but she has never lived in our home and they have been divorced for years!  Asked twice now to remove and sent their letter back that came in the mail unopened.  They have actually been pleasant with us, but then again, don't remove us for some reason either.  I told them I would report next time, he said he would remove us, so, we will see.

this number called me and wanted credit info and ssn called att said bill has been paid in full and there is no debt due this place is a fing scam told them that i paid it and the lady who didnt hardly understand me simply said ok and hung up wtf

Ok folks.  I've been researching this ALL DAY.  Here's my story. First, let me say that we have NO outstanding bills.  I have been getting the automated calls, (for MONTHS) to call back at this #.  "Time-sensitive matter...blah blah." Well, the name is not mine.  The account is not mine. Same first name, same town but NOT ME!  

I have spoken to an actual person 4 times, telling them I am not the person they are looking for, nor do I know her.  They always say they will take me off the list, and are VERY rude, and tight lipped about any information I ask for.  But they Keep Calling!!!  After gathering as much info as I could (from the automated calls telling me reference #'s) I decide the next time they call, I'm going to straighten it out for good. Sure enough, they call back, (they always do...) and I call the darned # and give them the "reference #" they left. I ask the lady who she works for.  "CCA."  I ask what that stands for.  "Nothing," she says. (!!!)  She won't tell me.  I ask her name, won't tell me.  She ends up hanging up on me.  This morning I call AT&T a second time.  I tell them "CCA" has been hounding me  for an outstanding balance that is not mine.  I had called to find out if CCA was a scam (one call wouldn't give me a person, it just asked for my CREDIT CARD #!!!) No, AT&T uses them for collections, they are not a scam, and they are called "Collection Company of America." From googling "CCA collections" and clicking on the "Who's calling me" sites, I realize there is a TON of this going on.  From MANY different 800/877 numbers.  And they are pissing me off.  After digging (really deep, they are hard to find...) here is their website.

I am going to write a letter to their CEO, and anyone else who will listen, AND I am going to file a complaint with AT&T.   I have been a loyal customer for too long to have them outsource someone to harass me for a debt that isn't mine, and be yelled at, not responded to, and hung up on.  I hope you guys do, too.

several calls were placed to my parents land line whom i do not live with. upon reciving the messages ( there were several, none of which stated the buisness or reason for call). I found this web site and now i am concerend. phone just rings and rings same as other comments, but i am now sceptical of the buisness calling. thanks for the info

Have been receiving calls from 1-877-533-7006 lately for my ex. Pretty much the same crap as everyone else. Just thought this additional telephone number would be of interest.

They have called every day, sometimes twice a day, leaving a very rude message and insisting I call back.  Each time I try (with the intention of demanding to be removed from their list) there is no answer - just rings and rings.  I am going to research how to get them shut down.  I don't know what good this website does, hopefully these complaints actually go somewhere helpful.

Got a message so I called back. They were looking for my boyfriend about a cellohone contract. I told him that if he would check with AT&T it was paid already. He said he didn't know anything about that and if I wasn't him or going to help him out by finding him then he didn't want to talk to me. Very rude!!!!! Asked what company he works for and he said CCA. I asked who CCA was and he says it doesn't stand for anything! Who the he'll are these people!!???

this number keeps calling my work, somehow they got that number?? says it is very urgent personal matter... leaves a number and never picks up when called...my work is very upset... i think this is some harrassment ploy from at&t for money I do not owe them...i had an account with them 3 years ago....

800-646-1336, fishing for Credit cards by pretending they are collection agency.

Same stories as previous ones about At & T. first they said we have $1000 to pay and asked fro credit card number and than next time $1600 to pay. the guy didn't have anything right (address, social etc.) other than my name.  I'm sure they were fishing for active credit cards. Watch out!

Got calls from 800-646-1336...Left messages saying Jim Lynch, but on caller ID it read CCA-Dallas. I spoke to someone named "Mike Harris". This guy was a complete a***ole. He told me I had a balance of $53. for AT&T. I told him to send me the bill in the mail and I would mail a check. He told me "NO" that I needed to make a payment over the phone, which I would not do. They kept calling and then told me the balance was $75.00. WTF...How the hell did it go up. They started calling a relatives number and calling every 10 minutes or so. I finally called AT&T and explained this to them and I was able to make a payment directly to AT&T. DO NOT give any of your information to CCA....I would call AT&T directly. It may take them some time to look up your information but it is better than dealing with the a***oles at CCA

Received a message from "Cheryl Jones" who provided 800-646-1336 as a callback number, gave an extension of 3205 and referenced some 8-digit "file number."  Admonished me to call her back by 11:30 today...and I have no idea what this was supposed to be about.  Caller ID came up as unknown caller, message said something about the Office of CCA.  I don't know what the office of CCA is.

I received 3 calls (2 messages & 1 live call) from these people stating I owed AT&T money from a debt that has been paid a long time ago.  I think I spoke with a person named "Mike". When I told hime that "Mike" put me on hold for about 6-7 minutes.  I hung up. I haven't heard from them since.  This occurred November 26, 29, & 30, 2007.

Sheryl Jones - CCA or PCA - Call repeatedly asking for someone that dose not live at my address, saying it is some sort of personal matter. Returned the call twice, only to be left on hold for 12 minutes all together.  They will not remove my number from their list! Some male by the name of "Mike" answers the phone.

Spelled out someones name for who the call was intended for NE???? ???? It was a machine so it was really hard to tell from crappy voice imitation...
