Not true, I have no dealings with Vonage whatsoever and I still keep getting calls from this number.

Harassment call for debt.  I have never done business with Vonage.  Now I never will.  Operator stated aggressively that deadbeat must have had my number before I did.  Problem - I have had this number since before VoIP was a thing.  Also, many VoIP providers are cheaper than Vonage, and in my opinion politer.  Next call from these clowns gets a FTC do not call list complaint.

I can confirm this is an accurate account of the purpose of the call.  It's a legitimate call and I had the same issue as a result of the latest Target breach.

I had same issue.  Vonage will not remove a payment account from their billing.  So I called my bank & told them what happened....they added block.....would say more, but I see that vonage does patrol site like this one.  Yeah, I don't like them....prices are to high.  Especially for a service that is tied to high speed internet  in order to work.  I told them that I was going out of town for a few mo. wanted to put my acct. on hold, & they said no!  I still had to pay, then after resuming service they would discuss future credits..BS.!  OH, BTW, u r technically signing a contract for 1 yr.  If u cancel after 30 or so days. your're charged for the mo.'s left until the yr is up....AN IMPORTANT FACT THAT THEY LEAVE OUT!!! EVEN AFTER ASKING IF THERE IS A CONTRACT.

It is not "obvious" at all that the call isn't coming from vonage.

This indeed is a direct Vonage number.

As for why they are calling YOU if you have never owned a vonage device, could be for MANY different reasons including the fact tht the last person that owned your phone number did...or that your number was given falsely by someone else...considering we are talking about debt collection

I have never had vonage nor have i even asked for any information from them, and I am getting calls from this number.

So obviously it is not just a debt collector call

Call them and tell them that your attorney is going to handle this for you if they don't get your service disconnected as requested. It is Vonage.. been a Vonage customer for 6-7 years and it is them or an outsource company on their behalf. If you leave Vonage it costs you 79.00 disconnect and they continue billing I guess till paid as it would seem. I still have mine but was told this about a year ago. And the calls just keep coming as long as it is on. Thankfully they don't have my cell number.

Or maybe because Vonage are complete IDIOTS!! I ordered from them months ago, neveer received my equipment, so they sent "new" equipment out, well that NEVER worked wither, (and yes I am on DSL NOT Cable), I have never been able to receive NOR make any outbound calls on my account, and they are idiots when you call customer service.

I will NOT pay them one red cent, so IF they call me I will report them for harassment.

Oh people, if you want cheap phone service, go get a magic jack, the new ones ya dont even have to use a computer!!!

I keep getting calls from this number asking for "jason".  I have a new phone and phone number and none of these are through vonage

I asked the operator why they were calling and she said it was a promotional call.  It's not a promotional call.

I don't know how to make these stop and how to be sure vonage isn't racking up bills against this phone # and messing up my credit

Laugh, I feel for you.  But you know, you can have Visa block a particular company and avoid the mess of having to get a new card and update everyone else too.  I know, I've had to do it myself.

It's Vonage, and what's infuriating is it took 3 calls where they left messages before I could figure this out.  First, there was a ton of line noise (ironic, I know.  Or maybe just to be expected).  Second, the person who left the message spoke extremely fast, mumbled, cilpped their words, and used no inflection whatsoever, so it was one long ramble in which I could not even make out words.

If someone who worked for me was leaving messages for clients that so clearly convey boredom, impatience, and a general lack of caring, they'd be canned, quick.  Vonage, this is ridiculous.  (yes, I actually did complain to Vonage:  I don't assume they read this.)

Oh, even more annoying, it was to alert me that my credit card was not going through (I had received a new card and forgot to update them) and this is something both they, and I, really wanted to clear up!

Keep getting calls from this number asking for a guy who had this cell phone number at one time apparently.  Although I tell them time and time again that they have the wrong person and this is a new cell phone number for me, they still keep calling.  One representative told me I need to pay my Vonage bill or have my boyfriend/husband pay it.  I do not subscribe to Vonage and I never have or will.

I too received a call from this number. The caller claimed to be a Vonage rep, which I am a customer of. My credit card had changed and he was calling saying the billing did not go through, which was accurate based on the emails I received from them. I did square the account with them and immediately received an email updating the account. It seems legit.

It was a very slow sounding guy who seemed confused and as if he didn't understand what he was doing.I almost hung up on him as it sounded like a suspicious call. After I asked a few questions and he answered them, It seemed to be the real deal.

Bear in mind, I already have service with Vonage. I got a call from them earlier from (866) 243-4357. I told them I already have service with them. So what did they do? Call me about ten minutes later from (866) 646-1446.

It's funny how their outbound calls are in flawless New Jersey-accented English, yet when you call customer service, they have strong Philipino accents.

It is from Vonage, and its about the fact that the payment method that is on the customers account with them is failing for the payment, which sould be due to not enough funds on the card, or that the customer got a new card and forgot to update the information on their Vonage account. If you get the call and you are not a Vonage customer, please call us back and we'll explain this matter. Also if you think that your account is closed or terminated, call us because this call means that your account is not closed, but only Monday thru Friday from 9:30am till 8pm EST. If your getting the call to your cell, it might because that particuler number used to be associated with a Vonage customer and has it a call forwarding on their account. Please call and we can have it rmeoved, please provide the telephone number when you call so that we can find it and remove it from our database. Thank you.

Telemarketers (Unsolicited phone calls) and creditors/collection agencies are the only ones that I know of with that law.

This call you received was likely from Vonage trying to tell you that your services was going to be disconnected. Sucks for you. Don't be dick next time.

Trying to leave Vonage is harder than getting out of the Book of the Month club!  Called 3 times and told them to cancel my service, they kept charging my credit card.  Finally had to tell my bank I "lost" my Visa to get Vonage to stop charging, but they keep attempting to put charges through.

That's a strange message.  Claiming to be a Vonage customer, but coming off sounding like a bill collector.  If you're a paying customer why are you here?  This is a complaint board.
