Got a Voucher for the cruise and called the number was told by the person who identified herself as Sarah #FL9639 who told me I have up to 18mths to decide when I would like to go on the Grand Turk cruise but I would have to pay for the taxes now or else my chance will pass. So I told her it will have to pass. Ask who submitted my name for this promotion but she was unable to say who but they observe your travels etc. Also she kept repeating herself that the conversation is being recorded and I will have to take it now and the only cost to me is the taxes and finding my way to Florida and the list goes on.

If the Cruise is already mine and I have 18mths to decide why do I have to pay now or else it will pass?

Don't fall for it. It's a SCAM.

I too got one of these in the mail.  I checked with Better Business Bureau (BBB) and found they have 1354 complaints.

BBB website states:
Our file contains a pattern of complaints from consumers who state they were contacted by this company and told they won a free three day two night cruise to the Bahamas. The only fees mentioned are the port fees in the amount of $59 per person. Some consumers state they are not told of additional fees or that they must attend a two hour timeshare presentation as a part of the agreement. Consumers report the timeshare presentation is very high pressure as well as high pressure sales to upgrade their cruise. Some consumers complain they were told they have 30 days to review the travel packet and cancel for a full refund. Requests for a refund result in rude customer service and a refusal to issue the refund as mentioned in the sales presentation.

Things like these are often ran by lawyers offices. Like collection bureaus... it may have a different name then the actual company that is contracted by them.

Google earth your own address, it never shows the exact location, it's usually off by two or three lots... so again, not always a good way to spot a scam. Your best bet its to contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and ask.

Not true at all, if you truly one something you will ALWAYS have to pay tax!!!!!! So if you won something and they say that all you have to pay is tax then most likely they are legit!!! If you go on a game show, win any kind of legit sweepstakes or receive anything as a gift, our federal government requires us to pay a luxury/gift tax.

I keep getting calls from 704-240-5008 on a cell phone that I do not give the number out for. I don't answer them, but a woman keeps leaving messages claiming I asked for information on a "security system" and she gives a number of 1-800-650-2702 to call back. I don't know how these spam callers and scam callers are getting this number.

I got the voucher, called the 800 number but got the busy signal. Tried it several times and got the same result.
Can't tell of its a scam or not. At first I thought it was because I had recently booked for a cruise, so I thought these people somehow got ahold of that info and decided to try and bribe me to join their ship or something. I guess that's not the case?

Also, although it advertises Caribbean Cruise Line, the voucher didnt come from them it seems. In small print on the second sheet at the bottom, it says "Porthole Magazine is an independent publication, not affiliated with Caribbean Cruise line." Then across that print is the logo for Porthole Cruise Magazine.

Really not a scam you are informed of the taxes that will be imposed and given the website to look at the boats and hotels. It is for promotional use to spread the word about this cruise line. I'm just a regular guy and people love to sit and talk about things that they believe is the truth and this creates propaganda.

I got the letter in the mail about the so called free cruise.  I hate people like this.  If I get anything from a Florida address, I immediately think it is probably a scam.  Did I tell you I hate people like this.  They can stick their offer up in a place on their body where the sun does not shine.  The toll free number in my letter was 800 650-3238.

No, this is not legit, this is a scam. The dead giveaway is there is no such company named Carribean Cruise Line. It can be a legit hard-sell presentation where they sell horrendously-priced timeshares or travel club memberships or cookware or something else as you say but then why would they use a fake cruise company name? The scam can go several ways too numerous to discuss here but all involve victims paying money up front and getting little to nothing in the end. Stay away, folks.

Got this 'boarding pass' in the mail today. It's definitely not free, but it may still be legit. You have to attend a presentation on buying vacation properties (like time shares) in exchange for the deal. I've heard of this before, and have a personal friend who actually did go through with one of those deals, and he said he had a blast. It's a bit of a hassle but if you're willing to do it, it can be a great deal. I will not be calling them to redeem this deal though. Granted the one one he did was not through this company, but it does make it seem more likely that it is real. I did however, also google 'caribbean cruise line' and nothing came up for them - Royal Caribbean was the only one even close, which is why I will not be taking part. Hope this helps anyone.

Love how you come crawling out from under your rock when this site makes it tough for you to trick victims out of money. And thanks for the confirmation that it's working and your scam isn't!

It's actually amazing you can still find ANY victims, but we're working on that.
