I had excepted a promotion at the fair grounds in Allentown and was specifically told there are no obligations and that when it ends they will stop sending  papers. Promotion ended and papers continued for 3 Weeks then a 35 dollar bill and endless phone calls.  I've heard the company is hurting for money and now I completely know why.   Class action anyone? I would be in.  help put them out of business

these people are FRIGGING IDIOTS!! first same problems all the folks on here!  second THEY OUTSOURCE their customer services!!  WHICH FOR BEING A LOCAL PAPER DON'T YA THINK THEY WOULD HIRE LOCAL PEOPLE!?!?!

I just notified the PA Attorney General about this number 888-666-5492 This is an outsourced customer service or branch of the Allentown Morning Call.
Just terrible business!!

Im not different than all of the others - all i wanted is the Sunday paper and then they called and offered me other days for "Free" - yeah right - as soon as the next billing cycle started - I got a bill for way more and of course they try to charge you for the full subscription - I "work" for a living and I didnt get a chance to "call" during business hours to "Cancel" the subscription so now i am on the hook for $40 - no big deal - I will pay it but I will NEVER GET there crap paper again -

Lets not forget that they give you free papers so their Circulation numbers are inflated and they can charge more for advertising - so they make money by giving away free papers - then they screw their customers - Terrible management - I honestly hope they go out of business.

I don't understand why I keep getting these calls.

I got the morning call in college for the coupons for a  cent canceled it after they called me to ask me if I wanted to continue it said no now they keep calling me and I don't live in Allentown anymore

There has GOT to be something that can be done about this!!!! I too have had the same experiences with the morning call! I receive multiple calls a day from them, I have asked multiple times for them to stop! I have also been sent to collections for a paper that I did not ask for and they have reported to my credit! The same moment I opened the collections notice for the paper I requested to be canceled I answered the harassing 800# who wanted me to subscribe to their paper! You can imagine how that conversation went!!
With this many complaints and misdoings by this company there has got to be something we can do!
I have goggled every combination of phrases but it would appear no one has initiated anything to stop this.
Please help if there is anyone out there that knows of anything that can be done!

Annoying phone calls almost every day, sometimes several calls a day. Nobody respond when answered.
My phone is in National Database "DO NOT CALL LIST". Any company, including newspaper -
The Morning Call (Lehigh Valley, PA) shhould be responsible and pay fee for violating these rules. This is unprofessional, bad marketing for the Boston company who owns this newspaper.
Even if I am not subscriber, sometimes I use to buy the newspaper. Not after these calls. I know, many of my friends would not.

Please take me off your call list. I stopped the paper because I was tired of reading a soaking wet paper!!!  I now read it online.

We canceled the paper because the price went up, it's full of ads that carry the $ for the paper, and the news coverage went DOWN!!  Several people I know canceled for the same reason.  The pesty phone calls better stop! HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! we don't want the paper.

They call now.. I stopped the paper because the carrier didn't  deliver the paper the days when he should have and I kept calling the morning call to tell them that I didn't get the paper.  All they did was just take the complaint and DO NOTHING... For 2 months I did not get the paper for 1 week the way I should have...Then we get the adds for a Sunday paper on Saturday and NO Saturday paper....What gives here... They did not care when my husband called to cancel the paper.  They said nothing of the kind on how can we help... Even if they did say anything... They didn't do anything for 2 months.... So we stopped the paper.  Now how can we stop them from calling here.... Nowthat we DON"T get the PAPER they call.... I want it stopped... It is a nousiance....Bill

I get the paper.

My bill is paid.

I get the subscription I want.

They call me asking me about other subscriptions etc. every day...!!!

I am ready to cancel just cause they are irritating. I AM AT WORK PEOPLE... You want to continue to get paid BACK OFF before I lose my patience...

Continually calling at all hours of the day. I answer and no one is there.  STOP calling me!

We receive approx. 4 calls per day from this number.  We requested to be taken off the list numberous times.  I actually answered the 3rd time they called today and no one was on the other end.

So I paid the $42.64 bill (see post two above) just to get them off my back. They are still calling 4x a day, even with the check cashed. I dont know what to do but change my phone number. Please help me..

This is by far the worst newspaper in the universe. I sent a check for two years on a promotion for Sunday paper @.99 cents a week. They sent check back saying it had to be on credit card and be billed.  Isn't a bird in the hand... They call at least 3 times a day.  The Morning Call SUCKS!!!!!

I recieved a really strange bill from them for $42.64. I used to have a subscription with them but not any more. They sent me to collections. I dont know whats going on. We're getting calls from this number all day long, 5 - 6 times a day, at all hours of the day. We homeschool, so we screen our calls to avoid long interruptions during lessons. The calls from this number are incessant and disruptive. And for no reason! We had a subscription at one time, canceled it later, and settled our account. WHY ARE WE STILL GETTING THESE CALLS FROM THE MORNING CALL?!?! We don't owe them anything! I'm tired of the constant harassment. Now that I know who's doing the calling, I'll never do business with The Morning Call again.

These people keep calling me about someone else. When I answer they hang up. I am tired of the harassment.

I have to laugh when I tell them I work at a library and receive the paper for free.  They still keep calling me. What don't they understand about FREE!?

I canceled 3 months ago and still receive 1-3 calls a day. They hang up, and no message. This coming month we're getting the number blocked. I have a 2yo and will have a newborn in January. With how sleep deprived I'll be I'll be super annoyed when I call to complain. They called after 8 pm today!

I get calls repeatedly from 800-666-5492.  There is never anyone there.  An internet search reports the call originates from the morning call.

Same thing happened to me over $32.  Last time they get a nickel from me.  All this paper does is cut and paste from the AP newswire anyway.

I started getting these calls recently.  They call all time of day and evening sometimes at 8:15 am.  Today 2 calls within 1/2 hour.  The morning Call is not managing this operation very well
