Someone from this number called and said they were doing a survey for Citizen's Bank.

I too received a call from this number at 8:45 pm and it showed up as "800 Service". The man on the phone identified himself as being from Citizen's Bank and said he was conducting a brief customer satisfaction survey. I explained that I don't like receiving calls after 8 pm, he apologized and hung up. I called Citizen's Bank and they verified this number as a valid number.

Have been getting calls from 800-671-7916 for three days now. Never a message and I've no idea who/what it is for.

I get this call too, everyday. My card has been active for a while..

This number calls me multiple times per day asking for a previous owner of my number, apparently not believing that I don't know who they're talking about. They claim to be from Citizens Bank, but are more likely debt collectors of scammers.

I called the 800 service number at the bank and this is a bank number. The person I spoke to said if they didn't leave a number its for a survey. Probably due to recently calling the bank.

I have been getting calls from this number two to three times a day. I am a citizens bank member. Called citizens and they said they were not associated with this number. Was told by citizens to call the number and see who it was. Called the number, and it let me to citizens! BUT - since I wasn't sure if it was really citizens, I did not give my information to them. Hung up, and called the real citizens number. I am on hold now, requesting my number be removed off of all call lists. I have reported this number to the FCC dot gov website. ** When they call, and I pick up, they hang up. When I call the number back, it brings me through the citizens bank telephone prompts, but I am very cautious as I do not know if it is just a mirror image and duplicate sounding prompt series that would lead me to some sort of problem. I will update this post after my phone call with the real citzens number. Again, the woman I initially spoke to from the real citizens bank number, said this number was NOT associated with their company.

I called the number and it's the RBS Citizens customer survey service line. They wanted me to rate my service during my recent call to the service center for help.

They keep calling me and I have never done business with them.

This is Citizens Bank, and it is an automated survey to find out how my recent experience was. I did have a recent phone call with the bank, so it makes sense. Not a scam.
WIll 2013-10-28 14:08:08 Survey
It's a survey call from Citizen Bank, if you call the number back you are information what the call is about and that you may "stay on the line to speak with a representative". I have received calls from this number in the past, it's always just questions about satisfaction on a 1-10 scale. They don't ask for personal information to "verify" your identity, just about transactions and your general feeling about the company.

My mother's cell used to be my daughter's phone. My daughter and I have been using citizens Bank since she was 16 (and I long before that). She is now in her 30's still using Citizens bank. We have ALWAYS used the number with all the 9's in it. This 800-671-7916 number is a scam. Citizens has NEVER had this number, not even for their office branches. I know because I researched as well as called the official "headquarters" for all citizens banks across this country. I also looked them online for all numbers connected to any of these banks. Yes, it was a pain in the a** but if you want something done, you have to do it yourself...and do a lot of bitching and the almighty threat of leaving their bank for another one. So rest at ease folks. Ignore this number. It's automated and if you give your information out, it's your own stupidity. NEVER GIVE ANY information over the phone!!! if they want your pin numbers or passwords, tell them to send you a form in the mail from their official letterhead. If they refuse, tell them not call again (no call list) or you will report them then hang up.

2 calls from this number, didn't pick up.
Called Citizens Bank and it is a legitimate debit card scam.

Received a call from this number this morning on my cell phone (which is used for my business). I did not recognize the number so I did not answer. No message was left.

Called Citizen's Fraud Line & spoke with a young woman. She asked me to verify my account & then she called the number we are all complaining about. She got back on and told me it was definitely Citizens Bank and I asked her how she knew. She told me she spoke to a woman that gave her the correct information regarding being employed by the bank. I found it odd that she told me this as a few minutes prior to calling her, I had called the number and it was all input, no "Live' people. I thanked her, hung up and called the Fraud line again and spoke with another woman who also called the number and verified it was Citizens Bank. I question why the odd phone call is requesting activation of a debit card that had been activated over eight months ago and also how the caller knew our names. Possible a spammer is spoofing the Citizen's correct phone number. Word of warning, do not put your SS# in when requested because Citizen's does not ask for that. Other than that, there is nothing Citizens is doing regarding the spoofing, which is understandable because it is difficult to nail down where the call originates from. My worry is that they have employee's that have had their system compromised in order for name & phone numbers to be used by the spammer. Citizen's did not seem worried about it, so we shall see the outcome eventually.

Wow...4 years later this is still happening. Lately I've been getting 1-2 calls from this number on my cell. Now that I think about it, I just recently I gave in to Facebook's incessant whining to provide my cell number for "security"...I'm guessing that's where my problems stem from.

The number is from Citizen's Bank/Charter One. They asked a few quick questions regarding the customer service I'd received when I called recently. The did not ask me for any personally identifying information.
Meidego 2013-08-02 01:34:34 Unknown
Caller ID states "Toll Free"... it gives no name. I doubt this is from a legitimate company or bank... their name would show on CID. This is probably a scam that is "spoofing" this legitimate number. I simply do not answer calls from numbers that are obviously not people I know. If it was a real call from a real bank, they would leave a message, not hang up when the answering machine picks up. It has all the markings of a SCAM!

I called citizens Bank at the number printed on the back of my credit card. I think this must be a legitimate number. The legit number is printed between the magnetic stripe and the edge of your credit card. And then I entered all of my information and eventually I got to talk to a person.
They looked up the number and it is indeed a legitimate Citizens bank number used to call customers only regarding a customer satisfaction survey. Probably a robo-dialer working off their customer records and meeting selection criteria. Thats why it does not take return calls. Such an incoming call might not be quickly verifiable and given the applicable survey.
I told the person to opt me out of such calls. And since i spent time googling and wasting personal time over it, I suggested that a short explanatory message could be left with indication not to call back this number.
But instead give an opt out number to not receive such calls ever again. Hope this helps the next googler!!

But why don't legitimate companies let the caller ID identify them!? On my phone, it comes up as "Unavailable" so I'm not going to answer it. I also don't have an account with Citizen's, although my husband may have a personal account there. In any event, I really wish that legit companies who are doing legit follow-ups would let their calls identify them and I also wish that they would leave a message.

This is Citizen's Bank doing a follow-up survey on a in-branch transaction I did with them last week. I find they do this fairly regularly. It is a very quick survey, and they didn't ask for any identifying information. No scam here.

I received a call on my cell phone from 800-671-7916 they left no message and I do not answer calls from unknown caller ID. I would like to have my number removed from their call list.
Peter 2013-04-29 16:51:51 Unknown
My cell number is new. It's clearly a recycled number. But calls from this number continue although I've requested them to stop. I tell them I am not the person they are looking for, they say they'll remove my number yet the calls don't stop.
T 2013-04-02 16:24:03 Unknown
Same as above postings - just called as per few times per week for years, finally added to spam on my cell.
