I recently updated my Yahoo Hot Jobs.com & Monster.com job search profiles by adding my cell number as a point of contact. This must be related to these websites since my cell phone is otherwise unlisted nor given out. I also got a prerecorded message that read as stated in previous post "A message was left saying was a legitimate business call (from a former stockbroker) looking to hire 4-6 direct sales reps to earn $1-10000 per day."

Updated my resume on Career Builder and received a call from this number this morning claiming I could make between 5-10K a month within the first six months w/o cold calling using a direct selling technique that they would teach me. Claimed he was a former stock broker and not a direct marketing campaign.

I updated my profile on Monster.com and got a call from 800-680-8412 a couple times but no messages were left

I have been getting complaints about someone using my name making
computerized phone calls selling a business opportunity. I don't
sell any business opportunities and am myself looking for a job.
On another Website I found the following information about who
may be calling everyone who is using my name.  Hope this helps
everybody stop these calls.  I am calling AT&T and Arizona Attorney
General and complaining which is what all of you should do also.

I have been getting calls from this number every day for the last 3 days and they leave a message about a business opportunity (as mentioned in the posts here).  I have not updated CareerBuilder or used it for almost two years.

I don't know why they are calling multiple times.  Not smart.

Telemarketer calling our blocked number.  Called by getting my personal information off one of the job search websites.

"Hi, My name is Randy Carr. .... Blah, blah, blah."

Repeated calls to my home number despite my frustrated efforts to speak with whom ever is monitoring the calls to stop them.  That doesn't work. There seems to never be anyone monitoring to robocalls they make. Selecting different options during the call to "participate in a webinar" etc never gets to a human.

I just spoke w tech services at my phone provider (Cox Arizona) and I can enable a selective calling feature that will block specific numbers from getting through... I'm setting it up soon and hope it will cut off all the ones I list as "to be rejected".
In the meantime shouldn't consumers / the public have easier access to eliminating these calls?

I recognized it was a recording from a marketing parasite, all it got out was, "My name is Randy Carr and I'm calling in reference to your resume. I'm looking for 4 or 5 candidates that want to earn to $5,000 to $10,000 per month..." then I hung up.

Hmmm, if this guy had such a great opportunity (earn to $5,000 to $10,000 per month), why would he have to spam people? Dirt bag.

Just got the same call on my cell.  I did update my resume yesterday on CareerBuilder.com, I suspect that's how he got my cell number.  I need a job, I don't need a scam.

Just got the following voice mail:

This Randy dude is calling my home AND my cell simultaneously.  The phones both ring at the same time, and the same recorded message is left.  I'm furious that he's cold-call spamming me, especially to my cell.  Grrr.

More of the same.  Makes one wonder how many phones this guy must have to call so many people. Surely the phone company could turn him off if there were a legal need.

Correction.  I'm sorry.  Because this is an 800 number dialing *67 won't block your number.  I probably wouldn't recomend calling these people back, the more people leave false info, the more room you take up on v-mail and the more time you waste in fake phone calls.  I know it doesn't sound like anyone could bring them down but seriously if enough people did it you really can make it pointless for them to continue these phone calls.

As an added note, if you do want to leave a message for these people, might I suggest, calling the number back by first dialing *67-1-800-680-8412.  This will block your number from any caller ID and then leaving an alias name.  Something like Amy or Andy Baker.  Then leaving this number: 973-474-9051 as a call back number for you.  It's the rejection hotline's number for Telemarketer's Nightmare.  Or look up the rejection hotline numbers and leave any one of their numbers as a call back.  They're all pretty funny, and the more they fall for it the more of their time you get to waste.

Rec'd a second call yesterday December 7, 2009 @ 11:49AM MST.  Same recording as last time from Randy Carr.  I don't think they called my husband's cell phone this time just the home phone.  I don't know who is behind this call but it's getting annoying.

Randy Carr again. Boy, he keeps looking foR for 4 to 5 people. This job must suck if he keeps looking for people. I've received a call (vm) from him just about every week. DON'T FALL FOR THIS TYPE OF JOB HIRING PRACTICE. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Rec'd call today November 30th, 2009 @ 10:43 AM MST.  It was a pre-recorded message about a sales job.  The call came to both our home phone and my husband's cell phone.  It's extremely annoying because no where on my husband's resume does it state that he has ever done or would be interested in doing sales.

Calling the number back doesn't get you in touch with a live person it just states that the next step is online training.
