If they are making calls to your cell phone, I would suggest you do one of two things. First, let them know that you no longer want to be contacted by them. Also, put it in writing and send it certified, return receipt request to prove that you notified them of your intentions of no contact. If you are contact after that, you can contact an attorney and possibly receive $1000 for this violation. If you are looking for a quick fix, you can download a call blocker app, which I highly recommend "Mr. Call Blocker." Now, if you have an Iphone, Apple doesn't allow you to block the radio frequency, which is one of the many reasons I got rid of mine.

If you get another call from Franklin Collection Services (FCS) and decide to answer it, tell them you no longer want them contacting you. You should also put it in writing and send it certified, return receipt requested, which is the best way to document that you actually told them to no longer contact you. Be sure to make a copy of the letter and attach the receipt (one for your records) to the letter, and once you get the green card showing the person's name, signature and date they signed for the letter back, attach it along with the letter as well. Should they continue to contact you, contact an attorney and you could receive $1000 for this violation.
Hope this helps!

The correct website to report these types of activities is the Federal Communications Commission at: fcc.gov

Not sure if this is legit or not.. Says I owe a past due AT&T bill... when I called the number they immediately answered already knowing who I was.. The phone they called is a private phone in my works name, not even in my name... She asked me for my address, I told her if you had a bill there that you should already know that. And, if I did owe AT&T and they were collecting for them.. Why havent I received anything in the mail regarding this... What do I do now to get these calls to stop? Anyway to prove this is a scam call?

I started getting calls from this number about 10 days ago. At first they called once a day, then twice a day. Today they called 3 times! I hope it doesn't go to 4 times tomorrow, etc., etc.! The call last night was after 8:00 p.m.

We all know how HIDEOUSLY IGNORANT
these people are ----
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991
prohibits debt-collection services from using autodialers to contact you,
the debtor, if YOU personally haven't provided them your contact info.
Go to FTC.com and report them and there illegal activities, continue
to report every call.
These so called collection service people are truly the SCUM BAGS of
our society !!!

For several days now, all hours of the day and night I keep getting a call from these people. So, today I finally answered the call and low and behold it is a collection agency for AT&T. They said I owe them $888.49 for past cable services. Well, I did owe almost that much, but it was paid infull over a year ago. I am sorry but if AT&T'S records keeping is that BAD, they don't deserve to be in businessl. I mean for real, this is so aweful to have them harrassing me for something that has been taken care of over a year ago. GET A REAL JOB!!! STOP THE MADDNESS!!!

Unfortunately these calls are automated and there is no person on the other end of the line making the call.

Sign up for Google Voice on your computer. It allows you to redirect all calls to a Universal Voice Mailbox. The caller may leave a message which you can read (the service phonetically translates the voice message to text) or listen to the playback on your computer. If it is an unknown number, you have options to block the number. If they attempt to call you again they will hear the following "Not in Service" message. Google Voice is free plus you can send and receive SMS messages for no-charge!

same calls every day,do ;not leave a message, nor do they identify themselves. must be nice for a person to sit at a phone and annoy person there calling. I do hope that they get calls from 800 numbers and get bother just the same.

We are debt free. So when I get an 800 number on my cell phone the first thing I think is Telemarketer.
Not so in this case. I called the number to see what company it was and they immediately called me by name...I knew it was something
odd because we do not give out our cell numbers. Well it is Franklin Collection Service claiming that we owe somebody almost $200 and they could not tell me who or why. I told them we are debt free as we always pay everything in cash and if they call again I would call the police. She got nasty and demanded a credit card number and would not produce a bill or tell me what this was about. I hung up and contacted the BBB and local DA office. They said they are probably running a scam.

I received a call from 662-690-2287 pushed 5 as instructed and got another recording. Sounds urgent and would like to know who or what the call is/was all about. On the caller ID it showed F C S 662-690-2287. I looked up F C S and this is what it said "The Future Combat Systems (FCS) is a joint (across all the military services) networked (connected via advanced communications) systems"

"James Moffet--you need to call me at 800-689-6765 about a important matter"... 662-690-2270 .... recorded message.
| Chris J 2008-04-16 12:41:17 Unknown |
Same phone call as other comments have mentioned. A recording wanting me to call the 800 number to resolve a personal matter. The calls started in March '08 and occur 1 to two times a week. Must be a scam as I have no outstanding debts.
| Chris 2008-03-28 22:19:26 Debt Collector |
For over a year, I have been getting calls that only say that "You need to call 1-800-689-6769 to resolve this personal matter." That's all. This site says it is a collection agency and I do not have any outstanding debts. I am on the do not call list.

Said they are FCS - Franklin Collection Services.
