This number is Bay Area Credit; San Jose, Ca. A debt collection company with a call center in India, which explains the heavy "acceents". Google them. I have had them calling to try to collect on a bogus medical overcharge "debt" from Workers Comp insurance covered auto accident in 2002. I've tried to explain to these callers that the patient is not be billed for any overcharges under the Workers Comp regulations, but a lady named "Gloria" in India seemed to know to know our laws better. I told to quit calling, she said they would continue to call. I have sent a letter certified mail to Bay Area Credit citing FTC regulations under the Fair Debt Collections Act (google it for help with harrasing debt Collectors). These people continue to call and ALL FOR $50.00 AND A $4.10 SERVICE CHARGE. $54.10 must be a lot of money in India!

We get calls from this number several times a day and this has been going on for a couple of months.  The man with a heavy middle-Eastern accent cannot even speak English very well and cannot pronounce my last name....not even close!  Not sure how they/he got my name, except when they leave a message, the number you are asked to call back is entirely different than this 800#.  The number you are to call back begins with 866.  Thank goodness for caller ID, because I am sure we (wife and small children) would have got "trapped" into answering their calls, etc.  They better hope they never meet me face-to-face!  What a LARGE PAIN in the "you know what" these people are.....Please someone tell them to stop harrassing all of us and get a respectable job!

These guys suck: Bay Area Credit.  I have been making payments to them for an ambulance bill i got in Sacramento, CA.  I continue to make small payments each month yet they still call.  I wrote and asked them to stop calling but a man with a thick East-Indian accent claims they didn't receive it.  They also never send me recipts for my payments yet they DO have the correct balance when i call and ask them if they received my payment.

I believe this company is really a collection agency just a really crappy one.  I got six calls on my cell phone these past two days.  I didn't answer. I've gotten really irrate with these folks and cursed them out, especially the guy with East-indian acccent. The most recent number they've called from include:

I've been getting these calls for a couple of months now. Never called them back since if they thought it was really that important, a human being would be making the call by now and not the same answering machine. Glad I found this site and found I was right. Debt collecton agency? lol. My credit score's in the 820's and  I'm months ahead in my mortgage payments and years ahead in my car payments. What's the reason for calling then? I have a good mind to just drop by their door and see what's up since its nearby. Or, better yet..maybe get the media involved. Hmmmmm....

I received a call from a woman from the same number 800-697-1234.  She was asking for someone else, and demanded that I confirm my address with her.  This went on for about 2 minutes and then I hung up on her.

When I answer they hang up on me.  I called back 7 times! until I got someone.  They guy said his name was Steve and I was calling Bay Area Collections.  He asked for my Social, address, phone number and name.  Of course I didn't give it to him.  He has an Indian accent and is very rude when you start asking HIM questions.  What a moron.  In any case, I'm gonna contact my attorney general and I've informed "Steve" of this as well.  He hung up on me. lol

Called the 408 number, they said they'd remove my number.  The person who had our number before us must be a real creep, we get so many calls for her!  Anyway, they said they'd take the number off the list..we'll see..

I sent the information you see above last night. Well, I contact them today and told me to give me the name and address on the account. They gladly gave it to me and in a matter of 2 minutes, i found the house number for them. I called back and gave it to them.

I spoke with a debit lawyer about pursuing a harrassment lawsuit. According to them, I have to send a certified letter to the debt company and give them about a 1-3 months, if they keep on calling and not honoring the letter than I can file a suit.

I told this to the debt company and them hearing the word lawsuit...changed their tune on calling me.

People, they harrass you, you harrass them.

They break the law on a regular bases. i don't even owe them money i filled complaints with the f.t.c. and the bbb and dist atty office the problem is as you can see from all the complaints the have they are never held responsible for there actions.. thats why they keep on breaking the law.. they have been calling me for weeks i keep telling them wrong num but they don't care.. the managers there are rude and they don't respond to calls when you call to complain people like ALLISON BROWN,, JOKE TAYLOR PENSONEAU Who is supose to be the manager but never picks up the phone..not to metion when you ask for manager they give you fake names. they just keep doing what ever they have to do to harrass people,they SUCK!!!

These people have called me for months, and countless times I've told them, I'm not the person they're looking for. Fed up with the harrassment,I managed to get the company name out of the agent, and I told them to take me off their list, as I am the wrong person, or I will press charges. That didn't work either. So now I'm going to send a certified letter, telling them to cease and desist calling me. And when that doesn't work. Contact my lawyer, or call the State attorney generals office.

leaves a message that is inaudible to me. They had called my cell number so many times in 3 days that I returned a call and still did not receive any helpful information. Have no idea how they got my cell number, but I do not answer their calls. I let it go to voice mail.

I got call from this number this morning to my mobile. I did not answer as the number did not sound familiar to me. When I returned the call back, a lady answered and apologized for having called the wrong number.

This Number has been calling me for the last month.  And all that comes on is a machine.

I again got a call from these dudes.(The last call was this wednesday. when I called back, they said they reached a wrong number).This time, I clearly explained that I was not the one they were expecting to reach (Some Andrea...).No matter how many time they call, they would end up reaching me and that I got this number radomly assigned a couple of months back by the prepaid mobile service provider TRACFONE. The dude said he would take the number off their list. Hope he stands by his word.

sometime last month, i received a call that is 777-777-7777, i thought it was weird but i picked up cell anyways. they got my name right. then they said i have to pay for milk delivery. in my mind i said what the heck, so i lied amd said i dont drink milk, i have no card to pay with, and i didnt order any. after that they said i can pay with a check and if cancel i have to pay to pay a fee also. i mean if i have no card how am i suppose to write a check? then saying hs boss would go crazy. it sounded like some teenager mayb with a heavy accent also. just a few mins ago, i was looking at my cell phone to see who is calling my and its the 1800 number you guys are talking about and no one said anything. i got the same phone number once before and also said noting.

We have been getting calls from this number for the last 4 or 5 weeks. They ask for information about my son i.e. where he lives, his address, and information about our relationship/knowledge about him. They have called twice in the last two days. We don't answer anymore.

Every time someone read this message, please call number 408-392-4400 back 15 times.
They will eventually feels the pain they put all of us through.
I did this a mortgage company one time after I tell them what I was going to do and the calls stopped.

This number calling me has gotten way too far out of control!! These people call me about 2-3 times per day for the last month or 2.... I finally answered today and of course I could not understand much of what the guy was saying because the accent was so thick. But he said he was from Bay Srvcs. Credit Company and that he was calling to collect an unpaid debt from an ambulance ride from 2002. I told him I have never rode on an ambulance and then he proceeded to ask me if I lived at such and such address which I never had- so I told him no and then he read off another address (which is the one I currently live at)...this is a huge scam- do not give any of your info to this company. After I told him that I never rode on an ambulance, he said "Oh, I must have the wrong person"....but I still received 2 other calls from them later the same day...I have a feeling these people are not going to stop calling

When they call and the start to talk to you, change your voice and use a have heavy Middle Eastern? accents. Give them a dose of their own medicine make fun of his accent. Or last call CHANGE your number.

Yes, I have been getting these creepy little phone calls for several months and the times that I have chosen to answer, I have requested to have my number removed. Now, I have researched the number and have found a way to contact a person with a relatively normal accent. 866-222-2097. Call and ask for a bill to be sent to you. Do not give your name. Then explain the situation. Perhaps they will finally do as they PROMISED and take me and you off of the list. Good luck!

They have been calling for around three months now. The first time I answered they told me that I wasn't the person they wanted t get in touch with. Now I wonder why they keep on. I just ignore the calls now but it is a bother.
It would be nice to shut them down if in truth it has to do with identity theft.

I received a call from a man with a very heavy accent asking me for Helen Martinez...I said that was me and then he asked me if my date of birth was in February of 1952.  I responded no....but did not give my own date of birth...when I asked how he got my number which was my place of employment and asked for me by name he became nasty and said he must have the wrong Helen Martinez and slammed the phone in my ear.

I'm in. I thought when I began my investigation that I would be just taking them to court for around $10-$20k. But the information that I have read on here, has given me a paper trail beyond my humble expectations. They've called me 48 times in 1 month and 1 day. Up to 4 times a day.
I have Vonage and I typed in the number and 48 calls popped up, all times of the day. Didn't even have to count them, it told me.

The first time I was contacted I told them that I didn't know where the person was? Less than a minute later, the "Nut case" who obviously couldn't give a goody good hoot about USA LAWS. Mr India turned and called me right back!? I thought it was "Strange".
They end their speed dialing at just prior to their dead line of 9pm. and that would be ending at 8:59pm. Can you imagine 3 calls starting at 8:56pm?
