They ask fro the last 4 numbers of your social and there is nothing they can do with that. They do it so they don't give your personal information to someone who is pretending to be you.

That's funny because they collect for Verizon Wireless not Victoria's Secret so you are lying about that and they can't say things like that because they are on a recorded line.

Debt Collector
I paid a bill with Miracle Financial. They are a debt collection agency for Verizon Wireless. I just thought I would give you some information. The Do Not Call Registry doesn't work on collection agencies. They are not selling anything. They are looking for someone. They last 4 digits of your social security number is public knowledge. It narrows you down to 1 of about 150,000 people with the same last 4 as you. That is why credit card companies, phone companies and banks only ask you for the last 4 numbers. They verify this stuff with you so that they don't disclose your personal information to someone pretending to be you or the wrong person. plus, think of it this way...they are asking you to verify the last 4 numbers of your social security because they have the whole number in front of them.

I just got another call from this number that is supposed to be Miracle Financial.   First thing he told me was that someone named Lisa in Orlando had spent $4,000.00 at Victoria's Secret on a card with my name and phone number.  After I told him I had no credit card, the smart-a** young man who talked to me said he wanted to come here and suck my titties and f*** me.

I keep getting calls from this number, but I normally just hang up because I don't have a credit card.

What can I do to stop these calls.

Debt Collector
a lady identified herself and then proceeded to tell me I owed Verizon money...My acct w/Verizon was closed 6months ago because I couldn't pay my bill due to excess charges that they kept adding onto my bill. I put everything in writing twice in the past6months and explained that I have no money to pay and now 4 months later Miracle Financial(a collection agency) calls and claims they've sent correspondence to my home which I've never received and then hung up on me. I'm behind on lots of my bills, but this one that even if I had a little extra, I will NOT PAY.

Miracle Financial in Plymouth MA started calling me 2 months ago and was so rude and demanding.  They claim I owe them for an old Altell/Verizon phone bill that isn't even mine.  They have never sent me any type of letter with proof of this alleged old bill.  So I demanded they send one,  This "Earl" said things like "Why don't you call  us back when you want to pay the debt" and "We aren't a secretary service" when I asked for some kind of account number.  Said he sent a letter May 13th, 2010.  But it never arrived.  And now they have dinged my credit score.  Verizon is absolutely no help and about as rude.  I asked them for documentation and all they sent was a letter saying I owed them the money with no old itemized bill or anything. Why doesn't the BBB or our Attorneys General do something about these law breakers?

The reason you are getting multiple calls in one day is that they are using an auto-dialer, which calls 3 numbers at the same time, and the first of the 3 to answer is put through to the collector.  The other 2 calls are dropped.  This does not count as a legal contact (they are allowed 2 a week), so it will keep happening.  I know, I was employed there for two years.  Ask for their fax number and fax them a "No further contact" letter.  They can never send you a letter or call you again.

This is a Bank of America collector and if they are truly calling the incorrect person, tell them to quit calling you and that you are now logging each time they call you so that you can sue them for violation of the FDCPA ("Fair Debt Collection Practices Act").  For each violation of the act (i.e. each phone call), they are liable to you for up to $1000.00.  Also, ask them for a mailing address so that you can also send them a cease and desist letter, in which you state that you have told them to stop calling because you are not the person they seek and that if you continue to get contacted, you will sue under the FDCPA.  Send the letter certified, return receipt requested.  That should take care of your problem.  If they continue, you can sue them.

Rude caller wanting to verify the last 4 digits of Soc Sec# and I politely explained that articles and reports on TV stress to never give out this info or confirm it.  He "lost it" on me and accused me of using "nothing more than stall tactics" -- to which I asked to speak to his supervisor.  He laughed and said to go ahead and then a "Suzie" gets on and starts the same pitch for my Soc Sec #.  Again, I nicely told her that I cannot offer that information -- vut the fact that they called me on a phone # that's verifiable, wouldnlt that suffice to confirm my identity?  She hung up on me.   HORRIBLE people!  And to my knowledge, I don't owe a penny to Verizon Wireless which is whom they calin to represent....

I get at least two phone calls from this number a day.  Google led me to this site, so at least I know who they're supposed to be connected to.  Now, I do have a Verizon phone, but it's a pay-as-you go, so there is no bill for me to be late on.  My husband told me to call them back from our house phone, but if the average experience is as bad as the rest of the comments are saying then I'm just going to learn to ignore the calls.

I receive calls from them constantly. I never answer and they never leave a voicemail. I've only had this phone and new number for about a month now and have received about 20+ calls. There is NO WAY I could owe a debt to them, I've never even heard of them and plus I've never done any financial transactions considering I'm a minor. I called them and they said the phone belonged to Mark. I said this isn't Mark, stop calling. The calls continued. I don't know any Marks and I'm probably going to have to get my number switched. It's weird that they don't have their number registered. I'm guessing it's fake.

What we sent to Verizon Customer Service:  Once again, Miracle Financial has obnoxiously interrupted our evening with threatening phone calls.  This time a person named Melissa (she would not give her last name) informed us we owed Verizon $238 and demanded personal information.  We have never had a Verizon account.  Please see to it that our names are removed from whatever list has been provided to this company and that we never receive another threatening phone call from these people.  We have filed a complaint with the Do Not Call registry.  If Verizon customer service has any interest, plug their number (1-800-706-5255) into Google and review what others are saying about their experiences.

Go read the Fair Debt Collection Act, the law about what is allowed in debt collection and what is not.

If you follow the rules and the debt collectors do not you can get money from them.

I have.

All it took was some detailed documentation (a video camera and speaker phone) and working with a lawyer.

Same deal here.  Financial company called me today about a past-due verizon bill.  Thing is, I have had verizon for 6 years or so, have had the same account since day #1, and have always paid my bill, currently have 0 balance owed.

This is not the first time I've been contacted but apparently there was some paperwork error 3 years ago at Verizon and since they have "handed it off" to debt collection they (Verizon) say there is nothing they can do about it.  I've been told by Verizon that I should deal with them to get it resolved, but it was verizon's mistake in selling my supposed "debt" and obviously this Miracle Financial isn't going to believe it was Verizon's error.

I wouldn't recommend answering or returning any of the phone calls from this company.

That damned 'Miracle Financial' has left messages on our answering machiene three times this week, looking for a stepson who has never, ever lived with us.  'Deb' says that my stepson gave them 'our ' phone number, but I know that isn't true.  I think they just call anybody from the phone book with the same last name, hoping they'll eventually track down the poor schmucks who canceled their Verizon accounts and owes them a few bucks.  Relentless!  What the hell happened to that national "Do NOt Call List"???  We're on the list, but you'd never know it!  I guess Miracle Financial isn't afraid of getting hit with that $25,000 fine!
