I too have been getting 4-5 calls per day from this number for the last month. And, before that it was the same call but from another 800 number and that also was for a month or so. I know it is not Wachovia and I never had an account with  Wachovia. It is a scam and they try to get your account information so that they can steal money from your account / credit card.

I have filed a complaint with FCC and FBI, so let's see if they can stop these thieves.

I spoke with Wachovia today.  That number IS a legitimate number.  I had to make 2 phone calls to verify it, though.  First, I called customer service (the number on the back of my bank card).  They didn't have the 800-708-5224 number, but they had another number, 866-211-6980.  When I called that number, they verified that 800-708-5224 is one of the phone numbers for their Overdraft Resolution/Deposit Recovery department.

This is Wachovia Overdraft/resolution department. They are calling to try and settle a checking account that is presentently overdrawn. Unfortunately, they are you ones who charged $35 for each instance where there was not enough money in the account and an item tried to go thru. Now they charged me OVER $300 in fees which I do not have due to personal issues. They will continue to call until the account is brought present.

i actually work in this department and yes we call many times during the day but you have to understand this is 2009 and our phonecalls are dialed through a system. when we call you from this number we click one button that says to access your accnt. unfortunately not all wachovia departments have the privelege to see every detail of your accnt but we are LEGITIMATE we have two phone numbers that should show up on caller id..this is one and the other is an 866 number. the reason for our call is to resolve any negative balance you may have on your accnt BEFORE the accnt goes to collections. its not an easy job collecting at a time like this but someone has to do it.

This recording calls me every day in between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. The recorded voice says that they have a call from Wachovia. I refuse to pick up so they leave that same recorded message every day.

Have been getting calls from a bunch of random numbers. Apparently I have an overdraft charge after closing my savings account at Wachovia. They were calling about the money, which I find annoying. However it is about something I just got a paper statement for. It's legit but apparently the "Deposit Recovery" people aren't part of Wachovia's corporation. Oh well. I'll be calling 1800Wachovia soon to get things straightened out. Also, the woman on the phone was polite and said it could be a mix up and gave me Wachovia's number without asking anything else from me.

I get at least 8 calls from this company a day. I just got the last one about 3 minutes ago, when I picked up I was like "Hello" and the guyon the other end was like "Hello" and I'm like "Can I help you?" and all I got was dead silence. This happens on occassion. It is Wachovia's overdraft department. I had a $1.50 overdraft on an account. I paid it off through another collection agency that is working on behalf of Wachovia (NCO Financial), but weeks after it was paid off, I started to get letters from some company called Collect America saying they were collecting on behalf of Wachovia.

So I'm getting calls from Wachovia and NCO Financial and letters from Collect America. On the phone with them now and they said I have 3 accounts, which includes a student loan. I don't have a student loan through Wachovia, but another organization.

Got a call from this number yesterday with caller ID showing "Not Provided". When I answered, no one was on the line so I kept listening until something happened...the call was then disconnected. After checking this website, I called the number back and got Wachovia Overdraft Dept. I told the lady that I DID NOT have an account with them and to stop calling. She then told me she would remove my number from their system. Then, today, I received the same call again. I once again called them back and was told that it took 48 hours for the request to remove my number to cycle thru their system. Hopefully, this is the last call I receive.

A $4.15 check to Dollar Stores bounced, + a few other small amounts. Since then Wachovia's automatic computer system tacked on so many charges they ran it up the pole to $183.00 . Two & 1/2 years ago I showed them a few of my copies of Energy Patents, then asked them for a small loan to build a new type of windmill. They of course gave full weight to my Credit History and none to my 3 patent copies from Dec. 31, 2002.

So my financial situation has right much to do with them, not just me, me, me. Anyway, they had some people call me and the first one got me angry the way he talked trash at me. Then he hands the phone to a lady and my voice was still loud with her, right? I imagine she was taping how sweet she sounded to me and how lous I was back at her, but I don't know.

That was their Trick #1. They are now using a triple phone number harassment technique. They have 3 phone numbers they call from. The first one shows up as an 800 number, the 2nd one shows as a Direct Dial Service, the last one is their regular number:

First they call me with this number: 16262595500
Then they have this one call 1-2 hours later: 18777647644
Then this one, another 1-2 hours after the last: 13369176498
I got these numbers from my Vonage phone account
that keeps a running list online.

Maybe I have them mixed up from proper order, but there they were in my online Voanage record of incoming calls.

I had three angina and a heart attack less than 5 months ago. This action against me they are doing causes my heart to start into a weird fibrillation. It takes me MANY HOURS to get it to beating normal again and sometimes days.

I have informed them **repeatedly** of my life-threatening heart conditions and they call anyway. They have been doing this for well over 5 months. I explained to them why I can't pay their computer-inflated debt too.

Isn't this harassment illegal, especially for a BANKING INSTITUTION? Any lawyers want to get in touch with me to roast these phone killer wannabees to the wall or start a Class Action lawsuit against Wachovia Bank, please write me at WachoviaHarassmentoftheSick@newpath4.com .

The Bank of Wachovia has crossed the line. They have done this to me for over 7 months. I had the 3 anginas in January over a 3-week period. The first two weren't so bad but the 3rd angina rocked me back on my heels and sat me down. Since January my apartment had a freon leak from old cooling coils. The gas was in an enclosed utility for the water heater and couldn't readily escape so when the blower fan ran it was running the freon gas down into the heatpump, back into my apartment...

I've been through it all this year and last. Having a damn Wachovia Bank using a triple whammy phone callers to agitate me is a criminal act.

I have gotten calls from this number(800-708-5224) ever since I got my cell phone. From July to October I got bi-weekly calls from Wachovia for someone named Robert (not me). I routinely call back (800-317-9071) and ask that this number be removed, but the keep calling back. It is now April and the calls have started again. They are very good at using my prime time minutes. I am not sure why Wachovia cannot remove my number from Robert's account. My last resort is to report it to Wachovia's security department as harassment. Maybe they can do something.

Phone fraud: Report it! Stop it!
I got a call this morning from 800-708-5224.  They answered "Wachovia" I started asking questions as to why they are calling me and he said I had an overdraft? Which was INCORRECT!! His name was "jay".  I did not release any info to him or verify anything.  I called my local bank and they said that this number is not part of Wachovia at all!!!!  This number calls from Boston and it's not part of Wachovia.  BE AWARE!!!!!

I got a call from this number saying it was Wachovia and to call them back at 800-317-9071. I called the number back and gave them my phone number and my name popped up, they asked to verify the last 4 of my SSN and said I owed $56.55 in overdraft fees from June 20th. I did own that but paid it back in June to close my account. I told the guy that and he said to call customer service. I called Wachovia customer service and they verified I had a $0 balance and the account was closed, they transferred me to their collection account and they said they were not familiar with EITHER of those numbers and it is not their company and they don't show me in collections. They even answered Wachovia....
