Got a call today (message) from 800-710-0896 x332 (Caller ID - 773-288-8169 Awards & Claims Center) from a Quadria, said I'd won one of four prizes, that it was not a telemarketing call, not a timeshare.... Read up on this, and found that one person was being asked their ss# and drivers lic number.... Thanks for posting....

A Kevin Jones called my work number and left a voice mail saying an entry with my name had won a car and to call back within 48 hours to claim my prize. He said it wasn't a telemarketing call. I know for a fact, I did not enter any contest to win a car. Another scam!

If you dont call back how do you know if in fact it is a legit call
tony 2011-06-06 20:58:18 Unknown
If you didnt reply how would you know what the call was concerning. In most cases the caller will have the IP address and the email where the person entered.

First of all this company has changed alot.I use to work for Mitchell Communications so I know what it's really about.Tony promotes vacation companies. The companies host a 90 minute presentation hoping to get your future business as a customer. The company offers mostly vacation packages.Mitchell's recives your info through previous email contests. The reps ask do you carry a credit card but the reps are never suspose to ask for the actual numbers. The reps get paid each time the person they refers to the presentation comes and meets the requirements.Any rep asking for the actual credit card #'s is going beyond the job requirements!
Aaron Rapp 2011-06-06 20:58:18 Unknown
They called my mom saying she won a Ford Mustang. She kept asking questions and gave us the same answer "We are not a telemarketing or timeshare group," and nothing else.
Andrea 2011-06-06 20:58:18 Unknown
Yup-
Tony called me, too at 10:49 am, while I'm at work with the exact same spiel about my having one of of four prizes, congratulations, not a telemarketer, not against do not call, time sensitive, last time he's going to call, ext 109- exactly like Carrie's call. I am not calling back- I tried to get some discount tickets to Universal in Orkando for my niece in exchange for a 90 minute presentation and they kept me there four hours and sent every one but the Founding Fathers out to talk to me after I said no!
Not worth the aggravation. Oh and the resort looked like a low-income housing project from New Jack City.

first silence...then a male voice (recording) muttering something quietly like "This is a place holder for your message. You have to record over this place holder." Then click and silence. Calling back gets a rapid busy signal.

I got the call from Tony and have decided to call him back tomorrow and tell him how excited I am!! Whoo Hoo, we win!!.... Get him all hyped up and then give him the low blow he's a bullshxxxer.... FTC obviously doesnt care, this has been going on since 2007 that I can see and several have advised they have reported this....

I rec'd a message this morning for "Tony" at 877-279-3457 (X109) saying this is their last attempt to contact us regarding our prize. I have not rec'd a call prior to this; however, Tony advised that I have won a car and possibly 3 other prizes...at least that's what I thought it said....he rambled it off so fast I could not comprehend the name of the company (which after I played it 4 times was not the same name as on my caller id)...and that he was not a telemarketer, or a time share, and since I placed my information on the winning ticket..it would not be against the do not call list requirements....I literally had to listen to the message 4 times to get all that deciphered..
After looking up the 877 number and not finding anything, I was able to track down this information by using the number on my caller id...tricky, tricky, tricky.
Although I am sure there are people who have attended the presentation and "won" a great prize...the point remains - don't use old school tricks and deceit to do it.

Got a call today from a prize claim center in bluffinton IL saying I won a lincoln navigater to call back to claim.Call back and they said I won and would have to pay the taxes to claim the lincoln.Gave me the number where the lincoln was so I could get all the details to pick up the lincoln. There was no answer they were already gone for the day.Had to leave a message. My wife says it is probably a scam.
Janice 2011-06-06 20:58:18 Unknown
It is a scam when they say you won, from entering a contest. They are simply time share people that use the "YOU WON" hoax to get you to call. sure they may give you a free trip-but it's still a BAD business practice. My call was from "GLORIA" at ext 237, she wanted me to call her back at 1-866-222-1995. And I got the typical, I am aware of the do not call and blah blah blah. As I heard in the background of her message a million other people giving other victims the same bull. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Aug 26 2008, Yep their still at it. Call was from Freddie Mac. 1-800-710-0986 x334, Said it was time sensitve and I was one of four to win the top prize of a Lincoln Navigator.
Rose 2011-06-06 20:58:18 Unknown
I got a call from 773-288-8135 and of course "WON" a 2008 Navigator, or other prizes. or cash, or 3day 2 night round trip to vegas or orlando etc. or a big screen TV.
nothing to buy or join, no time share, just a promotion, and publicity for the company. funny the company name was never mentioned. it's for couples only, so of course I was guaranteed a prize, but it was taken back b/c it was for couples only.
I didn't get to the point of her asking for any personal information, and I wouldn't give a SSN over the phone anyway.
So it was odd that she called my CELL phone and had all my information. So much for the Do Not Call list for cell phones!
I'll still look into this phone number and see if I can post any information with the BBB or something.
What's wrong with them getting future business? they wasted my time, that's what is wrong with it.

i got this message too, day b4 yesterday. i called back today and the rep didn't say anything bad to me. y does everybody have to put people down all the time. my appointment is tomorrow and my understanding is that its a 90 minute or less presentation about their travel agency. she said i dont hav to buy nothing and i will get one of those prizes. business is business whats wrong with them calling to get future business?/

I received a call from them as well....and I'm glad I did. What has gone so wrong in this world that EVERYONE is so skeptical and distrusting?? All I've read here is that you received the call. None of you have actually spoken to the representatives or gone to the celebration/presentation. Well here's news for you, since NOONE has the audacity to post the GOOD stuff.....my hasband (he's no longer my HUSband) and I went down after Greg Archer left me about seven messages. Yes, I was skeptical, but, hey, what did we have to lose......There was a presentation, and while we did not win the Escalade, we did, in fact, receive a vacation package, which we used as a last resort to save our marriage, didn't work, but the last good memory of my marriage...So get off the awards & claims center...THANK YOU, GREG....

I revieved 2 calls from this company, Awards and Claim Ctr, as well. I didnt not call them back but instead googled them and found them to be a scam. I then called the FTC and reported them and all the various numbers they had. I learned that although the call back number was 1-800-710-0986 and 1-877-xxx-xxxx they were actually calling from Chicago, IL area code (773). They were listed as a Time Share/Telemarketer with Star Vacations. What this has to do with winning a car, I haven't the foggiest. They are being investigated by the Gov't.

I received a call from caller ID # 773 288 8169 saying I had won one of 5 major prizez as a result of my email address being pulled. I never had the email address they referenced. I have reported them in the past and still they have called me at least a half dozen times. I am on the Federal Do Not Call List but it seems the Do Not Call List is meangingless.

I received a callon answering machine from a Dario exactly like the posting above (800)-710-0896 ext.327 from The "Awards and Claims" Center. He said I filled out a sweepstakes within 12- 18 months ago and by state law, I am to be awarded a Cadilac Escalade or 3 other major prizes since I was a winner. He said he was not a telemarketer or Time-Share promoter. I don't enter contests, so I knew it was a scam and glad I found this site.
