You were right, Kattie!  I called the number you provided (866-396-5694) and also made it clear (as clear as I could to the strong accented CSR) that I wanted my money back...she kept trying to babble her rebuttle, and I allowed her to do so, as to not be too rude, but when she was finished, I told her, "I apologize, but I didn't understand a word you just said, but no matter what you say, I want my 39.95 put back in my account, that's all I want is my 39.95 put back, my call is only regarding 39.95 that I want put back, and that's all this call is ever going to be about is that my 39.95 be put back in my account - you catchin my drift?"  After that, she gave her rebuttle one more whirl and I stopped her short and stated again, "I want my 39.95 put back in my account or we're going to have a problem...period!"

She then proceeded to tell me she was going to cancel my account and reverse the 39.95 back into my account.  I then spoke quite slowly and clearly, "am I understanding that YOU are going to REFUND my 39.95 back into MY bank account?"  She said yes and I ended the call after writing down her alias name and confirmation number ;)  Thanks!!!!!

Just wanting to know if this is a legitimate money maker or not. Read online where a Jennifer girl from Cedartown, Ga. pretty much swears by this. I am from the next small town and, like everyone else, wants to make extra money. Is this or real with Google, or a JOKE!!!!! Please advise.

I noticed a pending charge of $7.95 on my bank account with the number 800-710-2564 listed next to the charge. Called that number and got no answer, did a little more research and found this number for "customer service" 866-396-5694. after a few comments I made it clear that I wanted this reversed. They were able to do it without too much of a fight.

I noticed a "hold" for $7.95 on my checking acct for this phone number.   It also had the letters GMP beside the phone number.  I called and they only answered "Thank you for calling customer service".  I insisted on knowing what organization they were and he finally told me it was a "Search Market Member" site and that I'd signed up to learn how to make money on google advertising.  Which I definitely did not do.   He asked me if I'd recently signed up for info on government grants.   I did pay $1.95 for info on government grants but that's it...I was led to believe I would be receiving info in the mail that was free.    But, he said by doing so, I became a mement of that so-called search market member site.  I insisted on them crediting my ckg acct with the $7.95 and he did...gave me confirmation numbers and I insisted on them sending me the same confirmation in writing.  I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON AND WILL NOT FALL FOR THAT GOVERNMENT GRANT CRAP AGAIN!

This is absolutely outrageous. I can't believe so many of us have fallen victim to this incredibly huge scam.  Like many of you, I too have had charges on my credit card and all of them contain websites and phone numbers as the particulars.  None of which I have ever visited until I saw them on my statement.

First one: www.gglprofit.com (800-710-2564) Nevada for $2.29
Second one: www.fedgrantusa.com (877-495-1173) Utah for $7.95

These are just a couple but I see that there are a great many more charges to expect.  Fortunately we have banks which are great at resolving such unauthorized charges.  At least with that behind us, these shady people operating these services - won't be able to profit from everyone who falls victim to their tactics.

Government Grant Scams

The "free money" scam has been around almost as long as the human species.
It has more variations than a bulldog has wrinkles but you can count on one thing: the government (any government) does not simply give money away to individuals. Anyone who tells you differently has larceny in his heart.
If you give him your bank account number, he will soon have your funds in his pocket.
It does no good to list all of the names used by these bunko artists because a.) they change all the time and b.) every single free-money government-grant offer is a scam. Period.

?Free Government Grants?: Don?t Take Them For Grant-ed
?Because you pay your income taxes on time, you have been awarded a free $12,500 government grant! To get your grant, simply give us your checking account information, and we will direct-deposit the grant into your bank account!?
Sometimes, it?s an ad that claims you will qualify to receive a ?free grant? to pay for education costs, home repairs, home business expenses, or unpaid bills. Other times, it?s a phone call supposedly from a ?government? agency or some other organization with an official sounding name. In either case, the claim is the same: your application for a grant is guaranteed to be accepted, and you?ll never have to pay the money back.
But the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation?s consumer protection agency, says that ?money for nothing? grant offers usually are scams, whether you see them in your local paper or a national magazine, or hear about them on the phone.
Some scam artists advertise ?free grants? in the classifieds, inviting readers to call a toll-free number for more information. Others are more bold: they call you out of the blue. They lie about where they?re calling from, or they claim legitimacy using an official-sounding name like the ?Federal Grants Administration.? They may ask you some basic questions to determine if you ?qualify? to receive a grant. FTC attorneys say calls and come-ons for free money invariably are rip offs.
Grant scammers generally follow a script: they congratulate you on your eligibility, then ask for your checking account information so they can ?deposit your grant directly into your account,? or cover a one-time ?processing fee.? The caller may even reassure you that you can get a refund if you?re not satisfied. In fact, you?ll never see the grant they promise; they will disappear with your money.
The FTC says following a few basic rules can keep consumers from losing money to these ?government grant? scams:
Don?t give out your bank account information to anyone you don?t know. Scammers pressure people to divulge their bank account information so that they can steal the money in the account. Always keep your bank account information confidential. Don?t share it unless you are familiar with the company and know why the information is necessary.
Don?t pay any money for a ?free? government grant. If you have to pay money to claim a ?free? government grant, it isn?t really free. A real government agency won?t ask you to pay a processing fee for a grant that you have already been awarded ? or to pay for a list of grant-making institutions. The names of agencies and foundations that award grants are available for free at any public library or on the Internet. The only official access point for all federal grant-making agencies is www.grants.gov.
Look-alikes aren?t the real thing. Just because the caller says he?s from the ?Federal Grants Administration? doesn?t mean that he is. There is no such government agency. Take a moment to check the blue pages in your telephone directory to bear out your hunch ? or not.
Phone numbers can deceive. Some con artists use Internet technology to disguise their area code in caller ID systems. Although it may look like they?re calling from Washington, DC, they could be calling from anywhere in the world.
Take control of the calls you receive. If you want to reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive, place your telephone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. To register online, visit www.donotcall.gov. To register by phone, call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236) from the phone number you wish to register.
File a complaint with the FTC. If you think you may have been a victim of a government grant scam, file a complaint with the FTC online at www.ftc.gov, or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.
The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. This is a phone number for a "Grant Program"  my agent said they work with many different companies.  When you sign up for this grant program, if you do not cancel within 14 business days - you automatically get set up to get "companion programs" at additional charges ranging from 7.95 - 9.95 (from what I have on my cc) She cancelled the program for me (hopefully) providing me with 2 cancellation #'s and said that as of today I will no longer be getting charged.  She could not credit back the monies already charged because no contact was made with them.
My question...how can we have contact if we don't know what it is for??  Oh Well - Live and Learn!

ugh  I am thoroughly disgusted.  I called the number in my Fed Grant confirm email to cancel the trial and wanted to cancel the 2 other things they sent me -that I didnt sign up for.  I had an ID for one of them but the Networkagenda didn't have an ID.  The rep told me that I had to call the NetworkAgenda people directly and gave me the #. I called them, and they were closed.  The voicemail only said they were closed for the holiday and that we should try back later...never giving operating hours.  I tried the website, and it couldnt be found.  I thought the link in the email was broke, so googled it...the link still didnt work.

I found this site and called the number listed. The SAME rep canceled the NetworkAgenda account for me.  I am heated.  I am reporting Fed Grant to the AG of my state and theirs as the issue originated with them.

I noticed a charge for $7.95 from GMP 800 710 2564 on my CC bill. I also noticed a charge for $39.95 from wwwmygrantsitenet. I called 1-800-710-2564 to request a refund for 2 charges of $7.95. The first person offers you one refund - not 2. Stay persistent - they will transfer you to a supervisor who offered me both refunds. In my opinon this is a scam. Both of these charges are related as when I contacted the wwwmygrantsitenet I got the same client ID for both. So I supposedly will get 2 refunds of $39.95 and 2 refunds of $7.95. The people were polite but they try and offer you stuff - I just said "don't tell me anything other than I will get refunds, I don't want to hear anything else" and they get to the process of giving you a refund. Be persistant and don't let them just give you one refund if you are owed more than one.

Tess and the others that gave the info thank you! thank you! thank you! I saw the $9.95 charge and right away googled the 800 number this thread came up read real quick called my bank right away and canceled my card a inconvenience yes but compared to loosing money no. My credit union cancels right away so no worries there. I then called the 800 number told them I don't know how these charges got there and I plan to report this to the BBB she said she could reverse the charge I said that would be great.so best case I get my $9.95 back worse case I'm out $9.95 so thanks for the great info

Tess is rt on with the info. Also f.y.i. if you call the customer service line, 866-396-5694, be sure to push for a refund they are in a situation to have to refund. They will try to just cancel your account and give you a CGA # but request a refund they will at least give the last month and the refund code will be a RGA #. For what it is worth i am in Law Enforcement and fell victim to this one too.  In support of you all I did explain to the company that there was follow-up coming from an investigation. Truthfully though it will come more from the Political side in the State Attorney General's Office who will be looking into the company's fraudulant or misleading business practices, however; Make sure when you call in to costomer service, you cancel all three companies or as in my case, they will only cancel one and continue billing on the other two, which took a second less than kind call to the company.  I have a few colleages out west that owe me a favor:) Big mistake on their part I will do what I can...Keep posting and following up with the BBB with the complaints, it will draw attention to this issue forcing an investigation into these companies and shame to the companies linking these thieves to us through their reputable web sites! May God Bless America and chase the fools out of America (or to jail) I will gladly pay a "monthly membership fee" to assist in getting that done:)
