Get calls from 800-713-7780 at least once a day. I don't owe anybody any money. They used to list a name of someone who didn't live here, now they just say their name (Riexinger and Associates) and that they are a debt collection agency and to call them at their 800 number. Getting old, may contact local sheriff's office and report harassing phone calls.

Whoops, that is breaking the FDCPA laws.. they can not discuss anyone's debts like this.  And calling and harassing you is a big no no as well. Here's some info for you, don't get rid of those messages though and get a notebook, write down everything discussed on calls, record them if possible. Read through the things a collector may not do.. You just might want to go see a FDCPA attorney, you SIL should also.

A Collection Agent May Not?

Here are the top 11 actions prohibited by the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:

Misrepresent Him or Herself

A debt collector may not misrepresent himself as an attorney or law enforcement officer.

Use the Telephone to Annoy or Harass

A collection agent may not cause a telephone to ring or engage any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with an intent to annoy, abuse, or harass anyone at the called number.

Threaten Arrest or Lawsuit

A collection agent may not threaten a consumer with arrest. It may not threaten legal action that is either not permitted or not actually contemplated. In other words, a the threat of a lawsuit may be an empty one.

Use Abusive or Threatening Language

A debt collector may no use abusive or profane language in the course of communication related to the debt.

Publish a Bad Debt List

Publishing the consumer?s name or address on a "bad debt" list is prohibited.

Contact By Embarrassing Media

A debt collector may not communicate with a consumer by post card. It may not use any language or symbol, other than the debt collector?s address, on any envelope when communicating with a consumer by use of the mails or by telegram. A debt collector may use its business name if such name does not indicate it is in the debt collection business.

Contact a Consumer at Work

A collection agent may not communicate with consumers at their place of employment after being told this is unacceptable or prohibited by the employer.

Seek Unjustifiable Amounts

A debt collector may not demand any amounts not permitted under an applicable contract or as provided under law.

Contact a Consumer Represented by an Attorney

A collection agent may not contact a consumer after it learns the consumer is represented by a lawyer.

Communicate With a Consumer After Receiving a Validation Request

If a consumer sends a written §1692g response within 30 days, the collection agent may not communicate with the consumer until it mails the consumer the requested verification of original creditor's name and address.

Communicate With Third Parties

A debt collector may not reveal or discuss the nature of a consumer?s debts with third parties other than the consumer?s spouse or attorney. A collection agent may contact neighbors or co-workers only to obtain location information. It may contact a third party again if it has reason to believe the information the party provided previously is false.

Bills.com FDCPA FAQ

Below are questions Bills.com readers ask frequently:

Can a Collection Agent Call My Cell Phone?

Yes. However, if you tell the debt collector it may not use that number because it is a cell phone, it may not contact you again at that number.

I Keep Receiving Dozens of Calls From Collection Agents. Is That Legal?

No. Unscrupulous collection agents will use "block parties" or "office parties" where they contact a consumer, multiple neighbors, or co-workers telling them they need to reach the consumer on an urgent matter. This is not permitted under the FDCPA.

A Collector Says I Will Be Arrested if I Do Not Pay

This was a true statement before the US Civil War, but has not been true since. People may be arrested if an aggressive judge files a bench warrant for a person who does not appear at a hearing relating to a lawsuit regarding a debt. However, in that case, the offense is the failure to respond to a court order, and not the existence of the debt. As stated above, it is illegal under the FDCPA to threaten a consumer with arrest if the consumer does not pay the debt.

I have several recording of Riexinger & Associates violating both Texas State laws and Federal laws on debt collection.  This "law office" called my home asking and left a message for my son in law who has never lived here, and who I do not speak to.  I was unable to get to the answering machine to disconnect the call and so I heard the entire message.  I called the number left on my machine to tell them that I have no contact with my son in law.  The woman I spoke to did discuss the debt with me and tried to push me into giving her my daughter's cell phone number so she could call her.  I refused.  I got several more calls from Riexinger after that as well as more messages for my son in law left on my machine.  I called them back to tell them again to stop calling me.  I spoke to a man at Riexinger & Associates who further discussed the debt and that legal action was imminent.  He told me that I had a moral obligation to give him my son in law's phone number, which I had already told him I did not have.  If any attorney licensed in Texas or any other State would be interested in bringing these creeps to a come Jesus moment please let me know.

National Tax Company uses dishonest practices getting name from public records and sending "FINAL NOTICE" that wage garnishment is underway.
National Tax Company aka (National Tax Experts) with an office number of 800.713.5783 uses pink stationary with NO return address leads you to believe they are a Tax Bureau that is going to garnish your wages and put a lien unless you call immediately.  I SHOULD have been tipped off. They answered right away where IRS and government offices never would.  15 minutes into the high pressure call I red the bottom of the letter which says, "information from public records" and realized this is NOT government.  They sent an email to me after I told them I do not trust their business practices from "National Tax Experts" no address, but a southern california phone number.  THEN they sent me a "FINAL NOTICE MAIL" also suggesting this is my last chance to protect myself against a lien, but "THIS TIME" with a qualifier in the bottom footer in very small print stating "We are not associated with the Internal Revenue Service or any state agency." AGAIN no real company name, address only a very official looking document with a Personal ID number and form number 1148-st (U.S.C.) Again suggesting they ARE a USA..  The "Lien Reduction reference number, is actually a phone number that is ALSO referenced at the bottom of the letter.

During the call I felt misrepresented. I received an email from the following

National Tax Experts
Phone  800.985.9059
Fax  213.927.3613
Hours of Operation:
   Monday-Friday/ 9am - 8pm EST
    http://www.nattaxexperts.com/
http://members.calbar.ca.gov/fal/Member/Detail/73375

Then I received another form letter that LOOKS like a tax form, with tables and the personal data included, SUGGESTING if we work with them, our Lien amount would be reduced from $8 to $800 but the LIEN REMOVAL OPTION was in a APPROVAL PENDING state.    This is a horrible practice of preying on people who faced hard financial times, and now are meant to be terrified again by an agency who was SOO untrustworthy, forceful, and shady on the phone, I did not even want to dislose more.. I only wish I discovered sooner, how badly misleading they were.

Numerous calls for a "Juliette Chacogo" (sic) with a recording that is I wasn,t her to hang up (did this several times), then the recording goes on to advise that are attempting to collect a debt and to call 1-800-713-7780.  Since the is not anyone by that name living her, or had lived here, or will ever live here, no further action is taken.

I let the phone ring and the answering machine go off, it causes the dogs to run and bark, good exercise for them at no cost to me.

I received a call today, 01/07/2013 from 800-713-7780 ext 245  I paid both of my credit cards off and one was charged off 2 or 3 years ago. Nothing in the mail has been sent and no idea why they are trying to sound like a law firm. Is that legal? After reading the above, there has to be some legal actions we can take on this company for harrassement and obviously fraud by trying to get bank numbers from people. Sounds like a large settlement to me if a lawyer wants to go after them.  Oh and the lady who left a message spoke really fast so I couldn't understand the company she works with, just Law offices of somebody. That in itself sounds like fraud and illegal to me.

These people called me about a debt from years ago, the origional debt doesn't show anywhere on my credit report.  The debt is with wells fargo, should I just call to resolve it through them?  They threatened legal action against me if I didn't give them my banking information.  When I asked for more information about the debt, they said, okay, whats your baking info first?  They called my phone at 5:20 am multiple times trying to send a fax.  What do I do? It seems so shady.  Are they a third party debt buyer? A real law firm? They became irate with me when I requested validation of my debt.

They will also prey on your relatives, mainly your parents to pay the bill for you or threaten to  have you locked up...They are Idiots!

These people are nothing more than a collector with the name of 'Attorneys at law', and they will call everyone they can to find someone.

They are ruthless and need to understand Texas Collection Laws. These people even called me at 10:00 one night.

You must send them a 'Cease and Desist' letter and send it to them by certified mail, instructing them to stop their efforts in trying to contact you.

These clowns are terds under my shoe. Boys don't play in the ring with MEN.

They have gotten a defeciency judgement in my name thinking they are studs.

Little do these boys know I have their number. All that is left for them is to file for bank levy (garner checking account) or wage garnishment (garner paycheck). Since I am self-employed in a corp with no personal checking account good luck with that boys.

That will stop them in their tracks. As a last result I would file chapter 7 and blow their as$ out and you won't receive a PENNY!

Go tell your client the asset recovery company to sit and spin !
