I decided to answer and they asked for me by name, but I didn't bother to continue the call sincethey didn't identify themselves first.  Callers -- sales, collections, etc. -- are required by law to identify themselves at the beginning of the conversation.  If they don't and you find out who they are, you can theoretically turn them in to federal authorities.

Impersonating a place called Central Reservations (centralreservations.net?), they told me I have won 2 round-trip plane tickets and need to call them within 24 hours.  I highly doubt this is the real Central Reservations.

I called them back 20 times just to see how they like it. They have a system setup trying to con Equity card holders into releasing account information. No matter the option you choose, you end up with a lady asking for your account number. If you wait, they hang up; if you press 0 for operator, they hang up; enter some numbers and press pound, they ask for full length. I entered the number 5 16 times, LONG pause, then hung up. If I find out who is registered to this number, big lawsuit coming in along with BBB. No idea how they got a hold of my business private direct number, but they're finished seeing as I have my business all calls made on my business line recorded. Not the first phishers I put out.

3 calls from this number in last 2 days.  We answer each time but they hang right up, as seems to happen for some others.  We do have a First Equity business card too.   Possibly it is a call center calling out 20 numbers at a time and we may not be answering on the very first ring!  We are current on our account, but could they be checking to see if we are still in business?  Maybe CC Co's are getting nervous w/ the downturn.

They have called a few times and never left a message... I do have a first equity card, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't leave a message or identify themselves... it seems a little shady.

Thank you everyone for your input. I too have been receiving two calls a day for months. The call would go to the voice mail and then hang up only after leaving no message.

Calls once or twice daily for the last few days, but does not leave any message. First Equity would make sense since we have a business credit card with them. Based on the comments left by others, it sounds as if they are pitching their "Protection Plan". I am not 100% sure what this is, but likely a insurance product that allows you to miss payments in the event of job loss or diability.

First Equity credit protection.

I was getting 2 hang up calls per day. I called the 800 number and they wanted the last 4 of my SS #. Yeah right.

I mentioned I was on the national do not call list. If I had one more phone call from them it would be between my lawyer and them.

This number calls me at least 4 times a day looking for someone who does not live here any more. They disregard this info when you tell them and they just continue to call back.

This number calls my phone no less than 1x an hour from 8am to 9pm.  I am beyond annoyed.  I gave birth and my baby was in NICU for 10 days.  Each time the phone rang I thought the worst only to see it was these idiots.  When will it end, the loopholes are crazy.  Do not call should be do not call.

First Equity protection program.

I was getting 2 of these hang up calls per day.

I had to call the 800 number. They asked for the last 4 digits of my SS #. You got to be kidding....sorry no.

I very firmly mentioned that my phone number was on the national do not call list. I also suggested the next time they called it would be a issue between my lawyer and them.

The numbers returns to "The First Equity Protection Plan" which is a spin off of the First Equity credit card. They are just trying to get you to waste your money on something you don't need.
