I also had a letter in the mail for 2 free tickets etc..  I was almost certain it is some scam, even then I called 800-732-3449 for fun.  Got someone (Adam 9908) on the line who kept on pushing for an appointment to attend a meeting with them - Grand Discovery Travel, Cary. NC.  After the call was finished I Googled the name of Discovery ...  and the link on the top was

Rec'd check for $1,398.00 from "Cheap Tickets". Call 800-732-3449 on behalf of USA Airlines. Memo states "Must be redeemed for airfare or alternate travel certificate."  Back of the check states "No obligation to purchase or join anything. Certain restrictions apply.  Any trademarks are used for illustrative purposes, and remain the property of the owner.  Taxes and government fees are responsibility of the user.  Call for details and present your check number to claim your vacation.  Not applicable in Hawaii or Alaska.

I received my $1,398 check last week.  'Cheap Tickets" logo.  Bank address is Simpsonville, SC.  Check dated 14 January.  West Palm Beach, FL  Permit No 1002.

So if I call 800-732-3449, how are they going to know I am getting FREE airline tickets and not the FREE Android tablet.

I wonder what would happen if my local bank cashed the check.  Seems like the banking regulators would have something to say about folks presenting/sending a document like this as a 'check'.  The symbology is correct to delimit the routing and account numbers.

I wonder if there is a way to hold these folks to "and present your check number to claim your vacation." Betting the rest of the paragraph is sufficient to cover them.

Got a mailing that had this phone number to call. Outside reads "check enclosed". Inside has what looks like a check for $1398.00 that "must be redeemed for airfare or alternate travel certificate" and also says NON-NEGOTIABLE right under the signature.  Definitely a scam - BEWARE!!!

Got a letter from Cheap Tickets saying that I qualified for a award of 2 round trip tickets and 2 nights at a "Deluxe Hotel location".  They tried to make it look like they had a check for the amount of $1398.00, yet the spelled out amount on the check was "One Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Nine and 00/00 ***** Dollars

It urged me to call the 1-800-732-3449 within 72 hours.

Sounded great, but obviously not legit.

Not a call from this number, but rather a document in the mail with the phone number, 1-800-732-3449. Got it on Dec 28, 2013 from Expedia, Kayak and Hotels.com supposedly (stamp in the upper left corner of the document). It's a check to be redeemed for airline tickets for US Air in the amount of $1,199.00. It appears that the scammers somehow got info about airline tickets I purchased a while back from Expedia/US Airlines-- just enough credible info so  I might believe the check was real. Don't think my computer was hacked (I checked), but who knows about Expedia or US air.

Received one just like it, also in Upstate SC. 3-digit presorted postage paid, West Palm Beach, FL, Permit No. 1002. No company name or address anywhere. Check is dated 12/13/2013, must be redeemed by 12/23/13... "for airfare or alternate travel certificate." Won't bother to call. Would love to know which mailing list it came from.

Received  "travel voucher" for $1,199 with logos for Expediia , Kayak and Hotels.com in upper left corner. Letter says I need to call immediately  to redeem as they have attempted to contact me,

I suspected a scam called the 800-732-3449 and was on hold for 3 minutes before being greeted. I listen to background noise and decided I didn't want to deal with it so I hung up.

Disclaimer on the back says this promo is not sponsored by any of the companies listed on the front so I m sure they are in violation of logo copyrite.

I'm so much luckier.  I received a "Travel Check" (no return address, has logos for Kayak, Expedia and Hotels.com, but on the back in small print it says "This promotion not sponsored by [those three companies].  I get two round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental US ..... certain restrictions apply and I'm responsible for any taxes and fees.  I also get a BONUS Hotel accommodations for 2 nights!! The Travel Check is made "Pay to the Order of: USA Airlines on behalf of John ---- for $1,199.00 and the authorized siganture is totally not legible, and appears to be only one name!  I must call 1-800-732-3449 IMMEDIATELY.  They "have attemtped contacting [me] on several occasions." This will be my last chance to respond.
Yeah, right...
I called, got the hold message and music, and hung up.

My letter was from Morrison Centre promising the Android Touchpad.
Signed by Katie Smith (must be Paula's sister), VP Carolina Awards Division.
Number to call is 1-800-610-5954. Also had a message on the answering machine, but it was deleted
before I got to hear the phone number they wanted me to call.

I received a check in the mail for 1199.00 and they said I can fly anywhere in the continental US. to call immediately. Who gives away things like this. I don't know these people and have not applied for any thing like this. They said they have been trying to reach me and this is my LAST chance. I wish they would stop. If members in congress and the senate would get letters and phone calls from these A-- HOLES two are three times a week including weekends it would stop. Something needs to be done.
PS the check looks real but whose going to cash it.
