So here we are 6 months to the day later and these creeps called again. I thought I put them off last time and if they are Xentel calling me under a new number, I have rudely told them to leave me alone ...... that I have not, and will not ever give them any money as they are a scam organization (AND BTW, Xentel, simply changing your business name is not going to make you more palatable to any of us). Please, Xentel, IMPLODE!

Shriners....you shouldn`t ignore what good decent people are attempting to tell you....your credibility is slowly eroding call by call every time your hired flunkies make nuisance and persistent phone calls at all hours of the day and night to private residences asking for ``donations``.  The country and the people are going through tough economic times and the well is running dry.  If most people ernestly want to donate to charities they usually figure out on their own who to give their donations to and don`t need the hassel of some rude and persistent telemarker trying to brow beat them into giving money!!

Got a call from this number a short while ago (however, had to be polite since I wasn't sure if this was a call from someone I was doing business with....rats). After I said hello, there was a short pause and a lady ased me if this was .??? company (can't remember hearing clearly what company she said) - she was quite tentative as though puzzled why I didn't answer in a more business-like manner:
              "??? Company, scumbuster speaking, may I help you?"
I told her no, she aploogized and hung up.

However, I have had calls from this sleezy company before but never answered - I don't do telephone donations!!!! I don't do scams!!! So, give it up, eh!

Sept 2011 Well they are still at it I am recieving the same types of calls. Does anyone have any way of stopping these types of calls - weare getting about a dozen a week and a lot of them call several times a day. Enough already - any help would be appreciated. I am located in BC, Canada.

yup same charity,left a 5 min message like they were partying in the background,if u call the number,answering service comes on with another #,say they call between 9-9 est,which would be everyday

someone called me from 800-736-7608, just i can say that he was very impolite.

same number calls and when we finally answered it out of frustration there was no one there; complete silence, even while we waited to see if anyone would come on. now, after all this, i don't care what charity it is.

These people have been calling multiple times per week and sometimes more than once a day.
I answered and for once there was a person there.  They said they were calling for the Shriners. I asked them to add me to their do not call list.
I also called back on that number and was offered an information line 1-800-710-7081
I called that number and was given the option of adding my number to their do not call list using their automated do not call list service.
We'll see.

Calls several times a day - No answer when I pick up and doesn't leave messages either - Very annoying.

I am getting tired of getting calls from this number.

I've been getting these calls for several months. The Shriners website has a Don't Call link which may or may not work. I've tried it, cc'd the Shriners and added that these rediculous telemarketing practices have destroyed the good Shriner reputation.

The only real thing you can do about these calls is to have your number un-listed.  I've choosen to have just my first intial, last name and phone number in the book, so that I'm still avaliable to anyone needing to contact me. Which unfortunately means they still call, but at least they don't have important info, which makes identify's them more easily when they call, ensuring me its nothing important.

They have been calling my elderly mother in law and she is getting very agitated about it. There must be something we can do other than ignore it.

Well just now I managed to actual talk to one of Schriners puppetteers.
and was able to vent all my frustrations on him over their actions.

Just like water off a ducks back.... twice he managed to interupt me and said
stopping the calls was real easy just donate something even $20 and they will stop.

just a spin off from the old protection rackets.....give us money and we won't drive you crazy.

What ever happened to leading by example. Show the people you care by helping not soliting money Shriners, then we'll donate. The people have hearts you know, but don't like being annoyed and harassed by automated call machines. Here's a thought, ask for volunteers to help raise money rather than asking for money!

this number calls at least twice a week, i never get a msg left or anything from them. when i answer the phone no one is there.

Everyday for over 2 months I have had this number call my home.
Maybe I should contact "Olsen on your side" & let him do the investigation.

Two calls, no message in two days in the evening at the same time. Called the number back - recording told me it was the Giza Shrine Club and they would be calling back.  Hope they don't.

Well they are still at it, seeing that the previous submissions are dated a while back. Calling me in early morning and late at night. Couple of times i picked up and there was nobody on the other end. Now when I see the number in the display, i am not even bothering to pick it up. They won't leave a message and the number is not from a relative, friend or family member so therefore I won't bother to call back. Usely when you do get static on the other side of the line you already know it's some company trying to get some money from you. I don't think I signed up for this C*^P when applying for telephone. Annoying since they are persistent and keep on calling and calling and calling. But I won't lose my sleep over it. Unless they start making calls in the middle of the night....now that would piss me off.

Just had a man representing the SHRINERS be very rude to me.  He also asked for my husband and I said where are you calling from, he told me and then I told him we are not interested.  He continues to say "well we are not calling for you" I said I dont care, we are not interested.  He said "we will call back" and I said "no, you wont"... and he hung up.

This number calls and calls, never leaves a message.  Today I was going to tell them off, but when I answered of course there was no one there.

I don't know how to block it, so I am stuck with this number calling constantly.
