My phone number is listed under my maiden name, but I had a very odd call the other day. I was myself calling myself? I was on the other line and MY name showed on my caller ID along with MY land line number? I have no clue what that was all about?

Contact your telecommunications provider for assistance in blocking the calls or invest in a device which can be programmed to automatically reject unwanted calls.

My husband works midnight shift, as well as, has medical conditions that resting during the day is essential! This 800 service number calls SEVERAL times a day and have for MONTHS and it has became rather annoying! Not to mention, they also call on the weekends! How can I make them STOP? ASAP!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Call from 800 Service (caller ID) claiming to be IRS.

I have been receiving several calls a day for past few days. The caller has a strong accent, and keeps asking me if my computer is on and if not she'll wait for me to log on, she claims she is calling for Microsoft  Windows because they are receiving alerts from my computer. It's always been my understanding that it's up to me to let them know if I was having problems with my PC. This has to be some kind of scam!

The message getting from this number terrifying and threatening us we did some taxes fraud and if we do not respond with in 15 minutes the officials will come and arrest like that. No one can not do any thing with this kind of calls. Do some please.

I am getting repeated calls from 800service.  Any way to stop them???

The caller ID shows up as Telemarketer.

I get them all the time too, and I live in Illinois.  They never leave messages.  I don't answer numbers I don't know.

Got tired of this intrusion. Thought I'd be clever and try phone pad numbers for letters.  See others have done so too. Pain in the butttt!  Will try DNC and then block if that doesn't work.

A friend of ours received a call from 1-800-SERVICE, i.e. 1-800-737-8423, and the caller identified himself as being with Nationstar Mortgage, LLC.  He told our friend that there was a trustee sale sceduled two weeks from now on their house and that they should move out right away to avoid dealing with the Sheriff.  We checked with the county public records and there is no such trustee's sale scheduled.

I have received these calls for months - Denver, CO - I have picked up the phone and instructed them to take me off of their call list - they continue to call.

Got a call from 1-800-737-8423. Did a search on web & saw that number had been associated with Bank of America among others. Logged on to check my BOA account. My card balance was zero however, they slapped me with a annual fee of $59 & tacked on a late fee of $15 for it as we'll. Since, I knew I had a zero balance, I was not making payments on account. All of mine are programmed automatically to go out of my account too avoid late fees like these. Wasn't aware of this fee. Will be closing account regardless of how it impacts my credit. There are enough credit card companies out there that I don't need to pay an annual fee for the privilege of having a BOA card. On top of the fact this card has a high interest rate of 17.99%. They also reduced my line of credit from $10,000 to $1700 in 2008 although I was never late and had the card for over six years. They always watch their back and can care less about the consumer. We're just a number to them.

Its not impossible if you focus and cut back. A lot of us are doing it. You can get out of debt. Use cash and credit when you have to. Then pay it off ASAP. The borrower becomes slave to the lender. I'll be free of debt slavery in march 2014! It's taken almost 3 years but I will be free soon and it's been worth it.

Just got a call from this number - dead air. Googled to see if this was new scam and came across this site. I work for a phone company. Sneaky telemarketers/collection agencies, etc. use toll free numbers all the time to hide who they really are. Toll free never makes an outbound call, it is only inbound. Whenever you get a call that shows up as toll free, it is fake. Be very, very careful. Some of them even use the number of your bank so you will, hopefully, give them info. It really stinks that the local phone companies that we pay lots of money to every month let this happen. They can stop it by not letting at least legitimate numbers call their customers. Also, these guys even use fake local numbers. Always call a person back after verifying the number before giving out any info. Google spoofing ani or spoofed. Lots of info on how easy it is to change your number when it appears on caller id. Hope this helps.

For several weeks from 1-800-SERVICE at 8:40 AM and 9:40 PM daily. Extremely annoying especially where you have guests in the house. No one is on the line when you answer, ans no one answers the phone when you call back. We have been on the do not call list for years, which seems like not too mant solictors pay any attention too any more. If I knew for sure WHO was calling (the Company or organization)

These people call me at least twice a day and I never answer, except once when I asked them to stop. They never stopped.

We get three calls a day! We live in Red Bank NJ; have tried tellingthem to put us on the do not call list; will try again.

The calls I am getting is from 1-800-Service. They start calling at 8 AM. I am asleep at this time. They call back as many as 5 times in a row. They also call in the afternoon, and as late as 9PM. I have to unplug the phone, as I have an autoimmune disease, and need my rest. I do not get any bills from this company. I have lived with this harassment for over a year. I may have to disconnect the phone to get a resolution. I hate to do that as I have had this number for over a decade. There should be laws to protect the public from people, or companies that behave in a irresponsible manner. My mother lives in my home and is 89 years old, and has been adversely affected from this constant barrage of calls, that never stops.When we have picked up the phone, there is never a person on the other end, so there is no conflict resolution.

Keep getting callls from AT&T / 1800 service. They call five times a week! Told them to stop calling me but they don't stop I ended service with them because AT&T were price gauging me called them several times they said they would fix my bill and the problem was on their end but month after month they never fixed my bill and when I would call them back they said they would fix it over and over again. On the fifth month of them gauging me I terminated service with them! Now I'm being harrased by them.. I'm truly surprized a big company would stoop to such lengths!

I get calls from this number several times daily ! They never leave a message. The three times I have answered the phone this is what has happened. First time they claimed they were fire fighters looking for donations. The second time they said they were the police department asking for donations. Today they said they were AT&T wanting me to switch service. Really these people keep claiming to be all three of these without a callback number. If any of these places were calling me my caller ID should identify them and not read 1-800-service!! It is a automated calling system that keeps calling everyone and harrasing everyone, so if you want to actually  talk to these @#$%$#@ when you pick up the phone you must repeat "HELLO" sereral times before the computer transfers you to a live person so you can discuss their scam. Chances are everyone that gets these calls and I, we all have something in common just not sure what it is.

This number calls me daily. If I pick up the phone there is no answer. If i don't pick up the phone they leave no message. This company needs to be stopped! I have a small debt wich I did not pay but it past the statue of limitations years ago. And if they are calling about a debt they should be obligated to state why they are calling! But they just have this automated calling system that calls me @ all hours and just hangs up and doesn't leave messages.The call back number wich they call from does not work.
