Called today 4:30 pm, June 26/14, Toronto area.  She said she was CIBC.  I told her I don't bank there anymore and not interested.  I think I told her too much, come to think of it.  I usually don't answer calls from an '800 Service'.

Apparently it is the CIBC outgoing phone number. I checked by calling CIBC using the number on the back of my bank card and talking to a representative there. I told them that I thought it was not a good practice for their agents to be calling clients and asking them questions over the phone. Instead they should call the client, state the purpose of the call (in this case trying to sell their financial products), and ask them to call the number on the back of their bank card. It would be really awesome if they gave a ticket number that the client could punch into their phone while on hold anytime in the next 15 minutes to jump the hold line.

Been getting calls from this number everyday for the past two weeks. They always call when I'm working or at dinner time. They never leave a message so I would know to answer next time. Also, been getting calls from the other two banks I have credit cards with through "Store Name". Becoming very annoying.

I work for CIBC and whatever this number is harrassing my clients.   Multiple people have come in saying this number is calling them trying to sell them a security code but refuse to take no for an answer.  They call 3-4 times a day.

i got the call. A lady asked the name actually I use it as my trade name not the name with banks. She said that she would like to review my bank information. I told her that I don't have an account with CIBC. Don't tell me this is legitimate.

After weeks of getting these phone calls I finally answered while I was out shopping and walking around. I patiently listened to the sales pitch (free gift for having been with CIBC for years) and then told them I did not require it. Being that it was 'free' the person reiterated that 'oh, I know because it's free you don't believe it blah blah blah' and then I said 'I already told you I don't want it, I don't want to hear anything on the subject again.'  I listened, in case he had something better to add but not really and I politely said goodbye.  I have documented the time, and the reason for the phone call in my notes so that if and when I get one from CIBC again I will blast all of them (verbally!).  I may change banks for this. If I want something from CIBC I will call them, or go into their bank. Leave my personal time ALONE!

I would def not answer if I was you - and if you do for sure for sure don't give anyone info ever - they called you, remember, so why do they need YOUR info. F-that, tell them to send you a letter in the mail in writing if they don't have your address don't give them it either.

One (of the almost daily) days that this # calls, there is usually never a voicemail - but recently a new VM appeared after the call from this #...what a creepy sketchy sounding voicemail - It was as if they forgot to hang up!...Hear a few guys talking and DID NOT sound like a call centre or even a business-like atmosphere and sounded like all the guys had non-Canadian/USA accents so it was weird, I saved it and recorded it too.

But I never answer calls from anyone I don't know anyways and checked the number out and saw these posts - CLEARLY if CIBC had to get ahold of me they could do so when I arrive at my branch in person.

It was CIBC asking about my account albeit I have outstanding loans. So I asked them for a loan, that ended the call quickly.

I work for CIBC and the best thing that I can say and what we say to people who inquire about fraud is that If the bank is calling YOU then we will already know your info. we will never ask you to provide us with your info. so if they are asking for it, then it is not legit.

Why these guys don't get the message?  if you call someone several times and he rejects your call, why don't you get the message that he doesn't want to talk to you.  And they keep trying daily for weeks.  That shows that these guys have no respect.  Do they really worry so much about my welfare?  If they do, they can post a mail at my address and tell me how much they love me.  Or email me and ask me to call them for something important.  They know they annoy me without caring.  No consideration of my quiet time. No respect of my preference not to talk.  No respect of my decision to reject the calls.  Their business strategy sucks.  They called me six times within one evening.  It goes on for weeks.  Their strategy is so pushy like those people in the bazaars in the 3rd world countries that follow you to get your business.  A recipient will always appreciate a formal letter VS a call.  Thanks to the "Blacklist Plus", the calls are automatically rejected now.  and if they try to block it,  all block calls are automatically rejected now.  And any toll free number is rejected.  A lot of settings to customize and it is free from Google.

I answered, it's CIBC. They reviewed my account and saved me $10.05/month of fees on my account. That's over $120 a year. It took roughly 15minutes of my time. How many banks call you to see if they can help you save money and actually manage to do so?
Most people complaining have not even picked up the phone lol. Don't be so paranoid guys, they have your interest at heart and won't screw you over because you bank prefers to help you and keep you as a client rather than screw you over and lose you forever.
And don't forget that the person calling you is simply doing their job so listen to what they have to say! I know I did :)

I answer, it's not a survey. They actually saved me some money by eliminating some fees on my account. Saving $10.05/month means $120.60. A rewarding 15 minute call, no sale but great service.

I get your concern but it's for security purposes. Keep in mind that your name and address are PUBLIC information obtainable on Canada411 and other websites. Don't be paranoid buddy! trust me, you rather have your bank call meyou and review details of your banking rather than charge you fees and never tell you about them while hoping you don't realize you're paying them.

Have received and screened a call from this number every night for the past 2 weeks. Tonight I answered and told them to remove my number from their call list as if I receive one more call I'm changing banks after being with CIBC for over 40 years. Caller promised calls would stop; allow 5 working days to take effect.

My husband was at work at that time, and he asked my when was the good time to call again, and I said my husband was busy, he won't be able to do they survey. But they keep on calling everyday, and I've never pick up the phone.
