Ummmm?the dialer may go off at 8:00 (in that location)?but depending on time zones (and particularly if they have that info incorrect in the system) then it is absolutely possible for someone to get a call after 8 pm.

I agree with you and I have the same problems,  I tried to talk to them about our truck loan, which is in my husbands name, we send them a fax in which he authorized me to discuss anything regarding he account and they still would not talk to me, well my husband was in the hospital for 4 month and I pay all the bills, so from now on these rude people will never talk to us again,
I pay my loan on time and I see no reason to talk to these idiots ever again, I just could kick my husband that he got  his car loan with a stupid  Canadian bank,  they do not know the first thing about customer service, thank god the truck is paid of soon, and for the next truck , I go with him to make sure that the financing is done with a local bank.

Humor to the story!! I have defaulted on my vehicle (4 years ago) the bank never repossessed the car. In 2014 I filed bankruptcy and as per my lawyer have offered a settlement to this messed up bank three times. Today I have been on hold for 1 hour and 41 minutes before I got pissed off and hung up with out talking to someone.  Called my local branch, they advised me to call back.  Are you kidding me, they already have gotten two hours of my life and I will never get back. The vehicle is over ten years old, is it really worth anymore of my time???? Grr I will never do anything with TD Banknorth again.  I guess I will just run the vehicle into the ground and then scrap it.  Obviously, they don't want my settlement or the car..

Why are you trying so hard to claim to others that you are not fraud and such?  I dont believe you, your msg comes across as very unprofessional, we all know what we need to do, and that means, using our "smarts" and not believe these callers reasons for calling
Best to call your bank branch, or headquarters by looking up phone number on your statements.  That's the way to go.  Never ever give out your information to anyone that calls us!  I get these calls, they ask me for last 4 digits of my SS #. I say, no because they wont tell me who they are and to call the number 800 742 2651 and I have caller Id, when I got that call, it shown as a unavailable number, then wont tell me who they are.  I will call my bank directly, speak to my banker I have dealt with for 15 yrs.  I see many others here, dont even have an account with TD, but still gets this harrassing phone calls.

I've received voice mail from this number, but without any identifying source name. I'm asked to return the call to this number and connect to an extension. When I return the call, I get an official sounding TDBank telephone tree that goes in circles. There is no way to reach the extension in question, and there is no way to reach a live person.

I suspect that this is a fraud that is checking to see if certain telephone numbers are active.

In any event, I a legitimate call from a TDBank representative not would come close to this user experience.

Ive gotten phone calls from them for the past month and I keep going to my bank in person to pay off my over draft fee they keep telling me I have. I don't pay over the phone. TD kept telling me I have no overdrafts and this collection agency kept telling me I did and kept insisting I pay over the phone. I called the TD customer service off the TD website and the man helping me told me that that number is not being generated by TD Bank. It's a scam.

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

It IS TD Bank calling. I am unemployed and have a late car loan. They call every week.
Word to the wise if you owe them money. First of all always give something no matter how small. It shows your good intentions. Second don't let you loan fall behind 3 months. Thats when they think about going and getting you. Third, always call them back. It also shows good will and intentions.
If you don't do this then say good bye.

I got the call from a restricted number and a strange message stating this was a business matter.  I called the number and they wanted my account number and social which I declined to give.  i went to my local TD branch and they were able to see who looked into my account and we got them on the phone.  It was the person who called and yes - It is real folks.

i got this call, i too was skeptical, i called my TD bank branch and they said it was their collections number. even though my normal accounts were fine they could not see my loan info. they transferred me to their collections department and turns out i forgot to pay last months loan payment.

so if you are skeptical, call your local branch and go from there. never give anyone info over the phone if they call you.

Sure, they called us, too. Left a message. Our caller ID showed a blocked number. No name ... nothing. Why would a bank, block it's number? If someone were avoiding collections, all they would need to do is hang up after the dialed number is answered as ... TD Bank. Right? Their idiots if they think that blocking the number and their name will somehow "entrap" an unsuspecting account holder who may or may not be delinquent on a payment. I called and told them so and asked them not to call back unless it was on an unblocked line. They didn't. So what does that tell you. Never take a chance. There are people out there a lot smater than you. They want your personnel info. Oh, and we did go to TD .... and found our accounts were fine. Hmmmm ????

They tried it with me too. I saw blocked number so I made them leave me a message. They left a 800 number  800-742-2651 x 7616 so I called it out of a courtesy to say they have the wrong number. Before you know it he is telling me he has to have my name and number to be sure his system doesn't have my name incorrect. I told him I'm telling you it does. Why do you need my name, etc. I don't have an account this other guy is. I'm just calling to say you have a wrong number. He again asked for my name so he could verify that I don't have an account. I yelled that it is me that is talking I think I would know if I have an account or not and I am telling you it is a mistake. After I hung up mad at his stupidity, I realized he wasn't stupid, he was scamming.

This number 800-742-2651 calls every morning before 9 am but shows unavailable/unknown number. I finally answered and Caesar E. extension 7616 wanted to speak with my husband. He would not indulge any information so I called back with *57 and it said the number was traced and to call my nearest law enforcement agency right away to track them down. I have not done so yet but will. I have no idea what company it is. this has been going on for months and we are on the no-call list.

Um...NO. I can absolutely tell you at least part of this is untrue. I keep getting calls from a "Karen Taylor" from TD Bank looking for someone by the name of Andrea Williams. The first time I got home and the message was on my machine, I ignored it, figuring wrong number. The second time it happened I called back to the number given, using the extension she left, and was told she was "away from her desk, but how could they help me." I told them. The woman assured me she would deliver the message and I would get no more phone calls. WRONG. I got one today. I called back, again asked to speak to Karen Taylor, but this time, she was out to lunch. So I told the person on the phone what the problem was, and asked if I could leave a message directly for Ms. Taylor. I did. Actually, at this point, I would LOVE to speak to Ms. Taylor, so I can find out if she is marginally retarded and incapable of understanding the concept of "WRONG NUMBER", because at this point it's bordering on harassment. I have NO accounts with TD Bank, never have. There is NO ONE at this number named Andrea Williams. I don't even know anyone by that name. I don't know how much clearer I can make it.

I disagree I have had them call my house at 830 at night before and there are collectors in the office until 9 pm as I was told per a debt collector. Also have told them about 24 times that this person does not live at my residence and they still call me. I have been yelled at and harassed to the brink.. And FYI I do not do business with TD Bank Thank you. So if you are going to state something please make sure you are giving correct information to make it look like you actually know what you are talking about.

You can simiply contact your MP/MPP for assistance.  They can verify who live in your household and who's not. How ?  Voters list. Almost every Canadian citizen over the age of 18 are on that list. They even got the address, phone number & date of birth of each individual. Unless the collection agency is looking for a person who is under 18 of ago or homeless, then you are out of luck.
Ask the name of the agency, name of the person(agent) who handle the case & the case number. Call your MP/MPP, ask him/her to contact the agency on your behalf. Trust me, most MP/MPP are willing to help. Cause you know, there is no free lunch. When it's election time, you know who you should give your vote to.

Sometimes when the autodialer is uploaded overnight, your account could have been overdrawn. You may have very well made a deposit in the meantime and brought your account current. Thus, by the time you receive the call, there was no reason for it because you are no longer overdrawn. It just depends on the day and time of the deposit (especially if done via an ATM). Sometimes if a rep is sitting at a different desk, the extension is not theirs and you may hear the voice of the person who normally sits there. The extensions are exclusive to the desks and not the actual reps.

You should not be giving out false information to people who are on here trying to validate something. You don't know anybody in the TD Bank Collections & Recovery Department or they would not have told you that this is not the number. Just call the number back and see who you get? Or, call TD Bank's customer service number at 888-751-9000 and ask them to transfer you. You'll get right into the same department. When we call, we need to verify that the person who answers the phone is the account holder. You would be pretty upset if your baby sitter told you when you came home that TD Bank called and said your account is overdrawn by $670. Or if your sister borrowed your cell phone and was suddenly given that kind of personal information. We only ask that you verify the last 4 digits of your social security number or your birthdate - whichever you're more comfortable with. And once verified, we can certainly tell you anything contained in your account. Fraud can't do that. So again, unless you know something for certain, you should not be passing out intention WRONG information to the people on this board who are trying to properly understand the reason for the call.

The 9:30pm call never happened. The office closes at 8:00pm and there are no outbound dialers available before 8:00am or after 8:00pm. If you do not have an overdrawn account or a charged off account with TD Bank, they will take your number off the list. The DO NOT CALL registry is only for telemarketers. TD is calling you because either you or the account holder once had this phone number. That is not applicable to the governed telemarketers Do Not Call list. I work in the Collects & Recovery Department (the number that calls you). If you say "Wrong Number" and indicate the person does not live there, we instantly remove the area code (to prevent the autodialer from dialing you again) and not the account to begin a skip trace process. However, if you never answer the phone, you will remain on the list. The best thing to do is to answer and advise that they have the wrong number.
