Congress should pass a law requiring phone carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Spring, etc.) to prevent robocalls.  It's a national epidemic.

This is Progressive Financial Services, a wonderful species of collection agency from the Klingon galaxy.

Good to know. They called from out of the blue to "update my contact information." I'm pretty sure this kind of an approach from a collection agency is illegal.

I thought it was illegal for telemarketers to call cellphones. just in case I added my number to the  NATIONAL DO NOT CALL registry. Anyone who cannot control their phone has no place in my financial affairs. I would sooner let the guy on the boulevard with the squirt bottle and newspaper that does my windows manage my portfolio. (they still call).

I was called on my cell phone, answered the phone and no one answered. Perhaps these folks are using the do not call list and verifying numbers.

I did not recieve a call from this agency/number but my sister did! A woman by the name Lanelle informed her that her number was on my list of references and she has 2 other numbers. She asked that my sister verify if either of the numbers she has is the number she was looking for. Of course my sister just stated that she does not know my number off hand and will not reveal it to her any way. After this phone call my sisiter called me to let me know and read off the numbers she was told, niether of them are mine and one belongs to my new boss! How did that happen?! i never gave out hat information. The other number is an 8 year number I no longer have and I don't know who does. I have informed my boss and she confirmed the she did recieve a call and asked for her number to be removed since she did not give such permision for this, thankfully she accepted my appoligies and does not find me at fault. I will not be returning their call of course.

I've been getting calls from this number. Today they left a message to call Beth with a reference number. It was Progressive Financial Services. As with others, I Googled the number and found this thread. Obviously I won't be returning their call.

I received a call from this number at work. A girl named Melanie left a message asking me to call back...Since she didn't tell me what is was about ad I've never heard of Progressive Financial Services I googled the phone number and came accross these comments

i received a call from this number. i just bought this new phone and i have no creditors. they just ring and hang up leaving no message. marilyn bloch. i never gave out this number. it is a cell phone unlisted. someone had many telemarketers and creditors who had this number before me.

They made it sound nlike it was urgent to call back, when i called back there was no answer.  They called again, leaving the same message.  Had it not been for other people commenting, I would have not realized that it was a tele-marketer.  In am also on the do-not call -list!

I thought it was illegal for telemarketers to call cellphones. But to be sure I added my # to the national DO NOT CALL registry. 800-745-0633 still called.
I smell a class action lawsuit.

I recieved a couple of calls from this number, upon calling it back I realized it was "Progressive Financial Services"... Just another bloody telemarketer!!! Will it ever be safe to answer your phone again???
