This number calls every so often, and I tell them that the person whom they are calling for does not live at this number, but they keep calling.  So, if they read this, I want them to know:  PLEASE STOP CALLING MY NUMBER.  It is annoying and it worries my mother who is sick.

Called multiple times and left no message, but caller ID says Progressive Financial.  They finally called when I was home and are looking for someone else.  Person was really nasty on the phone and said I need to pay my student loans.   I told her she and her business were clearly idiots.  Who doesn't know they are going to be harassed for unpaid debt and doesn't change their phone number so stupid debt collectors can't find them??  Do these people not live on Planet Earth!  Very tired of continually getting debt collection calls for whoever had my number before me.  These calls went on for years with clearly lower and lower tiers of debt collectors all calling for the same person.  Until I finally got one of those crazy calls from someone clearly foreign saying they were with the Dept. of Security for Homeland and were going to freeze my SSN and send someone to my house to arrest me.  I laughed at the guy it was so clearly bogus!

Recieved a call from this number a few days ago. A recording of a woman's voice came on and said to "Hold for an important call" then music started playing. I hung up. Today I recieved a call from 800-745-2345 and a man named Jim Something wanted to talk to my roomate. I said she wasn't home, could I take a message. He said to have her call this number (800-745-2366). I asked what was this in reference to and he said "Personal business". I said I would give her the message. That was the call. Good ole Jim didn't identify the business or anything. After checking the  first number ( 800-745-2345 ) on this site, I asked my roomate if she owed any money. She said no. I asked if she owed on a student loan or anything and she said no. They are obviously scammers looking for a quick buck, or their information is very outdated or just plain wrong. Will report to Do Not Call.

No one forces these people to take the loan. You know damn well what you're getting yourself into. Weak excuse not to pay your bills.

Sorry to hear of your loss but let's be honest it wasn't a few days after you missed a payment. By law you cannot be garnished within 60 days of your last payment. So at least 2 months passed.

Don't get mad at the collector/collection agency. Take it up with the hundreds of thousands of people who don't pay their debts.

Trying to help? By calling me a child and a lowlife based on a comment I posted back in October 2011? You thought you could get away with making a cheap insult at my expense. You thought your insults would go unchallenged. It is YOU that should have had your comment deleted before they hit this site. I hope you have learned your lesson now.

That's your opinion sweet-pea, and opinions are like a**-holes....everybody has got one!
Your useless moralizing means nothing to me. That is not because I am a child, or a lowlife, but I refuse to accept your preaching on what is right or honorable on the simple basis that I do not know you and therefore have no reason to hold your opinion in any regard.

Robert you must be very young or a perpetual child. Of course you must pay back your debts, it is the right and honorable thing to do. When you get a loan you sign an agreement to pay it back. If you run into trouble most places will work out a schedule of reduced payments but you must pay something regularly, in good faith.  If you believe there is no morality associated with paying a studen loan back then you are a lowlife.

Caller asked for Jalil or Jamil or something. No such person at this number. Informed the caller that I do not have location information for the individual. Caller asked if i had a better number at which he could be reached. Reiterated to caller that I do not have location information for the individual, and reminded caller that location information includes address, phone number, POE, etc.

Actually, you spelled a lot of words wrong. Here, I've corrected it for you below. You're welcome!

"You?re an idiot!!! It?s obvious that you work for one of those dirt bag companies!
I haven?t even met you and can read right through your text. If you pay your debts than why
are you even on this site and posting?? Why... it?s because you are a scum bag debt collector!"

I do not have any student loans and never have had any in my life. they got their info screwed up and that doesn't mean i should have the agrivation of calls at work, calls on my cell and calls to my HR director. No matter who they are asking for, it still isn't me!! that doesn't make me a lowlife living off the governemt, it makes me a victom of circumstances. I have informed them 4 times myself and my HR director has been called twice about it....when will that stop? i did a search on the internet, found 17 people with my exact name and around my age, in my area.  I am sure it is one of them they are looking for and they just keep going over the same numbers being hopeful someone will mess up and say yes that is me...sorry it isn't me so i will not be doing that!

I have had them call me at work, get upset when i said no that wasn't my birthday or no those are not the last four of my social. They told me they would call my HR department and verify it...and they did. Still wasn't me...today i get another call from them, from a guy this time, was a girl the first time, he is much nicer ask about bd and ss and i said no and he said sorry to bother you. so whoever they are they have my work phone number and my cell number and know who i work for but apparently not that i am not the person they are looking for. if the numbers were even remotely close, i would have enquired further to make sure it wasn't a transposed number or something. no where near mine or my spouses. Hope they find the person with my name and not my numbers...

Most Student Loans Are Scams To Start With. First Off You Are Being Gouged On The Cost Of Your Education, Second There Should Be No Interest What So Ever On A Student Loan Third All Student Loans Should Be Collected The Same Way Social Security And Medicare Are paid, "Note You Don't Need Scam Artists Like Progressive To Collect On Those Important Services" .   As For Student Loan Collection Services They Just Thieves Who Prey On The Least Fortunate Of Us.
