Norton automatic renewal is business by stealth. Norton online chat support means waste maximum time with pseudo automated questions and responses which appear semi legit with the sole purpose to slowly eradicate any and all customer resistance. Callback service means purport to contact customer particularly if customer making refund claims.

I complained to Norton for renewing their "Bloatware/Malware" without my permission. Billing my credit card just because they had it on file. That to me IS a VIRUS, and not to mention their software missed two trojans Windows Defender found. I had no idea who that was that called nor what the message said, I speak english not garble. I do know this, when the statement shows up it is getting reversed and turned over to the Attorney General's Office

They have called me to fix my computer . they are from Norton, but my phone has no calling ID, and I asked them How do i know you are from Norton?, they gave me a case #, and they said if call 1800-745-6061 you can verify that we are from Norton.!They are very polite and intelegent though!

McAfee SUCKS. . .When I got married, I immediately replaced McAfee with Norton in my wife's computer,. it caught and removed more than 30 viruses and malware programs that McAfee didn't catch. That said, I nonltheless have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPER Anti-Spyware loaded on our computer in addition to Norton 360. Contrary to popular belief, it's wise to have more than one security software program, because no one single program can catch every cyber threat.

Would your antivirus program that you say is better than Norton hapopen to be AVG? According to Consumer Reports magazine, AVG is the only security software that equals Norton in effectiveness -- and unlike Norton, which you have to pay for, AVG is freeware. The only downside to AVG is that it doesn't have an all-in-one security and PC maintenance program like Norton 360.

Norton Support. I got disconnected from a chat I was having with one of their representatives in regards to a problem I was having and they called me to see if I still needed help with the problem. After I told them I solved it on with another representative on the phone, they said that they'd close the case. Very polite. Great system. Don't get scared people, they're trying to help you.

I don't even have Norton so I am not sure why they are calling me. They left a message, I had to listen to it over and over to even understand what he was saying!!

Try AVG or Avast, or Kaspersky... forget Norton or McAfee (ptooie).  Dunno about TrendMicro...

It's definitely Norton/Symantec's help line.  First day had great service with a technician, understood my English perfectly.  2nd day service was a disaster.  Tech absolutely had no comprehension but could repeat what he thought was my problem :(

I had to reverse look up the number here because the message left on my machine was unintelligible.  Their Indian techs should use voice recognition software when leaving messages so Americans can understand them better or at least take speech lessons to slow down and enunciate.

I have problems with Norton Online Backup.  The service is frequently offline.  I tried a Norton chat tech but he knew no more about fixing the problem than I did.  After 20 minutes, he said the problem was with Norton's server and to try again in 2 days.  It worked 2 days later but is not working again this weekend.  The caller was probably following up on the chat.  

My subscription expires soon.  Anyone have a good online backup recommendation?

Just Type Craigslist(Kenosha/Racine) yourtown.hit a few PC sales and go with the 1 you like who sounds competent enuf to help also in support. Look, you buya Internet CD, the license just gets you to the next UPDATE and you'll have to put up with the technician who answers in the next call. OK?

Wait. I just went 4 hours with NORTON support - all Hindu - great gentlemen to understand and work with as I have @ MOTOROLA making Smartphones in the Prototype LAB.
They really emphasize the seriousness of things and don't quit until it is resolved.
My DELL Gx 620 P4 bought from a reseller in Bristol ,WI. offered WIN 7 Ultimate +Media Player, and Office 2007 with a NORTON Security 2011 trial offer. After four guys running my Norton Reputation Scan , Quick/ Full failed(only CUSTOM did,going to Drive(C:) to render a report) the Senior Case Manager came on, went Regedit and matched the CODE Failure from te scan report to a HIDE ICON link in the REGISTRY and removed it - reinstated Reputation Scan on Reboot. NORTON is extensive - DONT criticize great HELP when its found. USE THEM. These guys dont Quit !
I felt vulnerable as my CHASE VISA was already compromised this last March. Then , Malware Anti- Bytes Kicked in to removing 980 registry errors of FAULTY rouge Internet Security Essentials.  MS Security Essentials just got wiped out!. That fix yielded a 27 page report of registry errors and crashed my PC into constant CkDisk last month. Found a cable to plug SATA Drive to a USB into DELL Tower , copied DOCS and Photos toHD and here I am. Now, NORTON is right on top of it in Chats always OPEN to vulnerability issues. I did suggest a REGISTRY LOCK become enforced and sold to STOP all this administrative overhead. Registry corruption called HIDE ICON was deleted which prevented my scans to reach the server to compare files. Thats all no biggy.Whats better than NORTON? My neighbor moved out , with her MAC, claiming no of this nonsense exists while she on her MAC. Maybe its time for a MAC instead of relying on 3rd party vendors to chase CODE CORRUPTERS down. On a MAC, I have reload that OS since 1997. With CPU upped to 1000Mhz(P3) its ok cruizin' Netscape 7.2,plays I-tunes, watch for wheel on Autotrader.com/cars.com or U Tube, no problem in lngevity or performance. Maybe the PC world still isn't what its cracked up to be.

I have received my first, adn hopefully last call from this number, Allegedly, Norton has a reason to have some thick-accented guy, call me about my software. I did not ask for a call, I resolved the issue with the person on the internet, so why they feel there is a need ot call me back, is a mystery.
If they insist on calling me often enough, I'll use an old standby, to help to bother them!
Come off of it guys, you've had me as a customer for years, so please don't start this crap up, becasue I'll uninstall and go with someone else!

calls from NORTON USA have made the hell of me .they call me and say ...is there john there ?i ve msgd them, told verbally that NO JOHN lives here but calls continue.

Norton's is a out of Holland (International) and uses  tech support from India.  The connection is so bad cutting in and out and barely able to hear or understand the person.  You can't blame them for wanting to check up and make sure everything is going well,..Customer Service.  Tracfone does the same thing, drives me crazy and I alway end up asking for supervisor to understand.

OMG after spelling my email address letter by letter over and over and over again. After at least 2 hours between Norton and Comcast my internet service, I finanlly told Norton I could take it no longer.... I didn't care if someone came in and ate the inside of my computer out, I didn't care if I had to write letters longhand again, I didn't care if I had to go back to smoke signals, I was going to have a nervious breakdown if I had to talk to this woman one more minute.
