These people call us EVERY DAY. I may be able to sue as to Florida's no automated dialers, AND I am on the "do not call" registry. Is it bad i know exactly when they call every day?

they call my house everyday starting very early and then call every night.  As with the others they never leave a message.  If they really needed to talk with me you would think they would leave a message or send something in the mail.  How do these calls get stopped?

I get calls starting at 8:00 am and today I received 3 within 5 min.  I do not answer 800 calls and do not return calls if a message is not left.  If they are above board, then leave a message about the nature of the call.  Calling me 3 times in 5 min. Is harassment, especially at 8:00 in the morning! Thus has been going on for 3 days...

this number keeps calling my house at least 2 times a day and will not leave a message on my answering machine.  I just want them to stop.

These guys have called for over a year, I just let the phone ring with no answering machine because they are looking for someone I've never heard of...losers trying to collect imaginary debts

It appears they have a very nice voice recording at this number 1800-749-7710/3. But that's about it.

The voice recording says "Hello, We'll be with you Shortly" then hangs up on you. You can faintly hear bi-cultural languages being spoken in the background and possibly a baby.

This person is calling after Christmas --why I don't know, and they keep calling back most annoying--quite frankly, if I wait for the Representative, they will not be a happy camper.

I just got a call from a guy at this company.  I asked for more information on the purpose of his call before I confirmed my personal information.  All he said was that it was a "personal business matter."  When I refused to confirm anything before getting more info on why he was calling he got all angry and aggressive so I just hung up.

Received many phone calls- all hang ups- from this very number. I was home today and bale to answer. They asked for my husband and refused to tell me who they were or why they were calling, only that it was regarding 'personal business' and they could not discuss without my consent. I took the number and googled it here. After reading the info on this site, it is clearly a scam and I will not be calling them back!

If you are receiving calls from them CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT. Mine dropped 115 points fro "payment failure" to this company. Currently in the dispute process myself.

800-749-7710 got a call from these people. They are possibly a scam company needs to be reported.

A lady called me from this number and told me that this message was being recorded. She started asking me for personal information. When I asked her what this was about she said she had to verify my personal information and then she could tell me about a debt that I owed.  I told her that I do not have any outstanding debts, and I also don't give out personal information over the phone. She then told me that she would be sending me some information in a letter. I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

Calling for a person that does not reside in this household.

This number just called, tells me the conversation is recorded, asked for Joshua Ruiz. I said: this is not Joshua and the woman on the other end nastily responded: "I did not ask you if you were Joshua, I asked to speak to him. Is this the wrong number?" I responded; "Uh, yeah" and she hung up. It is a certain kind of people who do these jobs. I am wondering if they are happy with their lives?

I just got the same type of call from a Ms. Hill.  She wanted to verify my address and phone number.  I verified that much, and then she wanted to know when the best time for the automated system to call me was.  I told her I wasn't giving her any more information until she could tell me what this was about.  She insisted that she needed to continue to verify my information before we could proceed.  I told her she had my name, address and phone number. She didn't need any more information.  Then she started getting loud, so I hung up.  Yeah, I owe a company some money, but if she was calling from that company, fat chance in hell they are getting it now!!

Get this call every day, however a message is not left. From what previous posts have written sounds like a collection agency.

They called me (at work) today. I called back just to see what it was. A Ms. Hill answered (it appears that Ms. Hill is a standard name...based on comments I read from 2009 that Ms. Hill answered). When I tried to find out what company this was a collection for, she was very rude. She kept trying to get my information. I told her I wasn't giving her anything until she told me what company had the debt collection...so she rudely said "ok, goodbye" and hung up. I believe this is a scam so I don't care if they call me for the next 10 years...I won't be answering anymore.

They have called 2x and when I told them I have full PoA to deal with these matters they wanted me to fax them a copy along with the SS number of the person.. Just not going to happen

I'm not aware of any jurisdiction in which merely returning a call creates liability for debt and/or resets a Statute of Limitations. This is in fact a popular myth. It is true that it's best to guard what you say to avoid any admission of "guilt", not even "I can't pay now". Use those voice calls to extract information, and not supply any.

The advice here is mostly correct, although Certified Mail alone is sufficient to confirm receipt. You can try setting a time limit for validation, but nothing compels the collection agency to obey. In fact, the agency can legally slink away quietly and never validate, and many do. But the same agency can never, ever bother you again until it does send validation.

Awdenza was correct that simply spewing what the collector has for an internal file validates nothing. The flimsy screen shot is a laughable example, but not atypical of the worst lawbreakers. In this story MAS misrepresented the character of the alleged debt and tried to bluff its way out of failing to obtain validation properly. Hopefully the response to this was a summons and FDCPA complaint before Spring 2011.

Advising people to defend their rights hardly makes the commentor a company shill. It's very hard to gather evidence of FDCPA violations or raise a proper dispute if you erase all the messages and never make contact.
