Solve this problem with a SILENT ring tone.
To do this use the record option on your phone. Record SILENCE for 1 second. Save the phone number that you want and assign the name "Do not answer". Assign the silent ring tone to this number.
After that when they call you will not be bothered because you will not hear a ring as it is silent. The only way you know they called is when you look at your phone and see that you missed a call. When you see the missed call was from "Do not answer" you can just laugh.
Does not block the call but otherwise solves the problem.

Already in a debt settlement program and I keep getting calls. I was told not to answer the phone...so I don't ...I'm not a dead beat and always paid my bills...I get into an accident and the lawyer I hired who FORGOT to file lawsuit...so now I'm working part time, in constant pain taking pain meds and unfortunately I had to go into a program cause my bills got out of control...I'm the wrong color so I have been denied SSD twice...

ro not everyone owes money, i get the calls and are asked for someone i donot know ,so if they keep calling you after you proved to them that you donot have that person in you household because you dont even know the person they are asking for and you dont have any debt ,then why do they have the right to keep calling your home at all hours every day thats harrasment which is against the law to harrass people so you see ro not everyone that is called is the right home and person they are looking for people do get their phones numbers changed and we with their old numbers are the ones getting bothered AND BY THE WAY ITS MY FAX MACHINE NUMBER THEY KEEP CALLING ONLY HAD IT FOR 7 MONTHS NOW
albey 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
you are right fs i keep getting all kinds of collection and banks and auto places calling every day for the last 7 months on my fax machine number for some guy i never heard of and i keep telling these people that this is a business fax number and to stop calling it that apparently the old owner of these bills had his number changed . i even gave them my full name and they say everytime well you dont owe us anything but they keep calling me so there are people out there like myself that is not in debt but keep getting these annoying calls all hours of the day its keeping my faxs from comming in because they have to keep calling for some one that no longer has the number

It is a collection agency for Capital One. They kept calling my house even though I don't have anything to do with capital one. They are looking for someone I knew. I asked them once to take my number off their list and then a month later they were calling again. The last time I called back very frustrated and angry, the gentleman wasn't pleased with my tone and gave me an attitude. He said he would take me off the list. The next time, I am going to report them to the Attorney General's Office for harrassment, especially since I am on the no call list.

Don't know who it is. I have no credit card nor previous credit card debt and no outstanding debts. All I have is basic utilities and not behind on any of them. They're starting to call me and unsure why.
CJ 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
RO, you aren't the smartest person here either. Hell, you can't even spell "They're" as in, "they're going to sue...." It's not, "their". I know just you were just venting since you work for them and can't find a better job due to your limited education. Oh just so you know, you guys had the wrong number when you called me so don't try to rebuttal and say I don't pay my bills.

Never ever ever ever ever pay debt collectors. Piss them off by saying their company name back to them! Pretend to be interested in setting up payment arrangements but don't give them any information. HAHA! And MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!! Once you get them talking, ask them who they bought the debt from. Make them tell you so you have proof that it's a real debt before you can set up payments! Once they tell you Who they bought the account/debt from, Tell them to F#$% off and pay the other company directly! in this case (Capitol One) Good luck everyone :)

I think RO works for them!!! LOL

We have put up with calls from these freaks for about 2 years. They keep looking for the lady that used to live in this house. We live in a rent house. I told them don't ever call here again! They keep doing it. I am considering filing a report against them. Tonight they called asking me to rat out my brother..... What kind of creeps are they?
Anonymous 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PAY REGIONAL ADJUSTMENT BUREAU. PAY IT DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CREDITOR. DONT EVEN TALK TO THEM JUST CALL YOUR CREDITOR. TRUST ME !!!!!
Lola 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
They call me at least 8 times a week and just recently started on Saturday but then just today (Sunday) they called, I didn't think that bill collectors could call on Sundays, something is strange about this company. If I owed money to them why not also send me a notice in the mail which they have not.
Wish someone could do something about this company.

Sean Thomas, you're an idiot. Not everyone who gets these calls is a deadbeat. Ever hear of someone changing their phone number and the new person who gets that number being stuck with the old owner's crap? What are you even doing here on this page reporting this call if you didn't receive one?
FlaxxStatic 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
These jerks call me every few hours looking for someone named CYNTHIA. I have told them TWICE that I'm not Cynthia and don't know her, but they keep calling. Both times the rep said they'd take my number off their list but they're obviously lying. They leave automated messages on my machine all the time for this Cynthia person.
SEAN THOMAS 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
This is a collection agency. They collect on capital one credit cards that are charged off. If they are calling you it is because you are a dead beat and did not make your minimum credit card payment for at least 180 days. You are lucky they are calling. When they give up calling, they start filing law suits in the respective counties. This collection agency is vicious and has a team of 29 hard a** lawyers that do nothing but go to court and sue people that don't pay them. They will call for a while, maybe even 6 months or so. But once they believe that the phone calls are useless, they WILL SUE YOU! Most of the time the dead beats never even show up for court, then the agency wins by default. That is when you get your wages garnished and your credit RUINED for years. My advice: next time they call, pick up and pay your bill.

The phone number belongs to a company called Regional Adjustment Center,
They are a collection agency located in Tenn. Their name is Regional Adjustment Co. They must have address software for various location that they then use to find someone near the person they are looking for. Under MN law they can do that until you tell them not to call any more. You can then contact the Fed Trade Comm and report them. You might want to check to make sure you are still on a do not call list also since those are only good for 4 years or so. The last time they called me I was vulgar with them and that got them off the line quickly when I said don't call me anymore. They also do not like there company name said back to them. Tell them to go $@#$@# off.

have you ever considered answering the phone
it could simply be a wrong number and you could
stop the calls if you let them know
orsomeone could have had your number before that they are trying to reach
or someone used you as a reference
whatever the reason you cant stop the calls if you dont let anyone know
duh!!!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've never picked up when they've called. They're calling a couple of times a day, mostly in the morning, but sometimes in the evening. They never leave a message. Maybe I'll pick up next time and have a little fun!
Irritated 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
Calls everyday saying that it is *urgent* that I return their phone call the same day. They have never identified themselves - I just think this is VERY odd.
D 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
they've called me once every few months. always mumbling and saying something about needing a patent. what??? I am sure this is a scam. the last call i got was on a saturday and he left a message saying i had to call back that day. who calls on saturday for a patent? very strange. and why would i have a patent?
Glenn 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
Name of company should read Regional Adjustment Bureau instead of Company.
Tired of calls 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
Calls early morning. Never leaves a message. Have not called them back, as I have heard if you do, they trace your number back and start calling even more.
Annoyed 2011-06-06 20:58:22 Unknown
Calls 15 times a day. Don't know who these people are. They never identify themselves. They tell me that someone will be at my house on such and such date to collect money. awwwwwwww. How do you make this stop.
