Just got a call from 800-755-1107 ext.116, Mr. Porter.  Interestingly enough, I just received a copy of my credit report and was pleased to see that I only have one issue on my report.  In fact, there is literally nothing on my report but this one issue and it is not related to this call in anyway, as far as I can tell. From reading the above posts, I can ascertain that they are a medical collection agency.  I don't have any medical related reporting on my credit report, yeah!!!!  Mr. Porter will not be getting a return call from me.

Some guy calling himself "Mr. Brooks" at 800-755-1107 X124 has started calling my job -- left message 4/2/2009; called again on 4/7/2009. The caller ID on my phone didn't identify the company by name.

Just got a call from this number ext 140.  They didn't leave a company name or what it was regarded.  I googled the number and got this info.  If they would have been honest in their message, I would have called them back.  I'm not sure what it's regarding, but I shouldn't have to guess.  They should tell me up front what it's regarding.

I just answered the phone and it was actually for my sister, but I took a message and the lady called herself Mrs. Leer. When I asked what it was pertaining to, she told me "a small business matter." ???
I looked up the number because it seemed a little fishy; my sister does not have a small business and is not involved in one. However, she has had some recent medical issues. I wish they would just tell the truth.

I was called at work and i didn't recognize the voice so i told them that he wasn't in can i take a mess, she said just tell him Miss Noble called.. I asked if he will know wat is pertaining to, she said yes its about my office?? that made me curious and just happened to google the #.  Im going to play with them for awhile to see how rude they do get.. Im in collections also.. lol

I agree and it might be in Merchant's interest to read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act § 805. Communication in connection with debt collection
(a) COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSUMER GENERALLY. Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt?
(1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer.

So basically once you say don't call me at this number or location they need to cease...

I was called by a Mrs. Brown today at work. The s*** that get's me mad is this could have been avoided if I knew I had a bill from the Hospital that was several months due (I moved from my residence so I never got the bill). Some deductible that I guess I miss understood when choosing health care. The point being is that collections agencies should not be calling anyone at their jobs. If they do, they should ask for another phone number or contact instead of your employment number.

David Bush from this number has called me on numerous occasions and has just recently starting calling my work. I have told him that I can not talk on the phone while at work and he VERY rudly tells me that I am breaking the law and that he's going to take all the money I make at my job. He threatens, and is extremely rude.

It's Merchants Credit Association, they do healthcare collections.
