Hello, I bought a 7-ironf hinge club in May for 29,95 from Medicus. They kept charging me for that 29,95 until I just discovered it. I will shut down my credit card immediately and let VISA Corporation deal with Medicus clowns.

DEFINITELY LAW SUIT IN ORDER. I sent back a golf club and have proof of delivery; it was brand new in original packaging and the box had never been opened. I have an RA number. They accepted the club and will neither refund my money, give me a credit OR send the club back to me so. I have called corporate office in Ohio, another customer service number that the corporate office gave me, and the "distribution center" where I had been told to send it. Their response? "That's our policy". By the way, a company won't listen to one individual for $69; however, I've barely even started going through all of the complaints about this company and I've already calculated $2,500 not refunded to consumers. I'm looking forward to the class action lawsuit that WILL be filed. DEFINITELY LAW SUIT IN ORDER.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Shady business practices, lousy service, grossly unethical. They deserve a class action suit.
Their products are very good. Their business practices disgusting.

I too just received a package I did not request after making a purchase from medicus. I immediately cancelled my credit card as the terms and conditions claimed the right to charge me as much and as often as they choose. I went back to the medicus site and read in their terms that they claim the right to share your credit card and banking info with any third party they wish. I urge you ALL to email the Golf Channel advertising Dept and complain to them as this is where medicus does their main promotions. I DID.!!

I called the # to cancel the membership they offered 50% off right away interesting thing they knew who i was without me first giving my name so they must have caller ID. I should have blocked my # so they don't call back at a latter date with offers. So to others block your # first. Good Luck.

returned item "unopened in original package", never heard from Medicus but after 6 weeks instead of refunding the money, they tried to charge my credit card again!  Then stated that "we can only give you a "store credit" since we received the returned item after our 30 day return policy".  This company is clearly engaging in fraud and don't ever give them your credit card #!

Try this number 800437 5174    Unfortunately I just ordered this online for my husband, and they emailed me a confirmation WITHOUT an invoice!!! NO amount! No item description. Call Customer service and they told me I would get it in 2 days! uhhh . . . they emailed me a 7 digit confirmation code. . .

Then some dude calls to tell me how to set up the club and tells me to call Maxine at 800 437 5174 . . . I had her fax me the invoice because their emails "weren't working temporarily" . . . things are fishy there

I didn't get the phone call but did purchase a Medicus driver 4 or 5 years ago.  Charges began appearing on my AMEX card ($9.94 each month). I didn't notice for three months. The service center that answers their toll free number apparently handles many merchandise sources. They quickly agreed to "cancel" the account that I never agreed to open. AMEX, as usual, suspended the charges without a hassle and blocks the merchant for 4 years. Unfortunately, this particular scammer knows how the game is played and will return after several years. It would be nice to get some publicity about this from a widely circulated media source...like Golf Digest maybe.

Beware, they will try to charge your card again in a few years telling you that you never cancelled even though you actually did cancel and actually never signed up the first time.

This company comes back years later and begins charging your card again.  We purchased the Medicus Clubs in 2008 and were signed up for the trial membership without knowing it.  Because we returned one of the clubs that arrived broken and did not get our refund we called Medicus.  Finally, they posted our refund but at the same time we got billed for the membership.  We then called to cancel it also.

In November of 2010 they began charging our card again $9.94 /month.  We discovered the four months worth of charges in Janurary 2011.  Call toll free number (800-216-5763) on our credit card statement which was for a RMC company out of Vista CA.  RMC stands for Response Management Company and they do business for Medicus.  Again a person named Brian said he would cancel my membership and gave me a cancellation number.  I don't trust them so I have put a permanent block on my credit card for all charges from this company.

Based on all the comments on this site, I would think some lawyer would seek membership for a class action against Medicus.  The first membership thing is a scam but the charges that occur years later are fraudulent.

just an update. called to cancel my membership. talked to alexandria, very nice on the the phone, she did try and get me to keep the membership and offered me 90 day 1/2 off to review the materials, i told her no thanks and she said she would cancel the membership and i got a confirmation number. i sent them this letter also:
To whom it may concern,
I would like to cancel my membership with Golf Life, and be removed from your mailing lists. I have now realized I signed up for your trial membership, when I purchased a medicus driver. (I found out searching online) I would like you to know I never signed up for the trial membership, and it was not explained to me, that I would be signed up when I purchased the medicus driver. I purchased the medicus driver on the phone and did not use the internet. I found out from the below links that on the medicus site online there was info about this membership. I do still plan on calling the number to cancel, but have read online that the numbers listed just give you the run around. 800-761-2744 from you, and 866-655-8428 and 888-447-1881 from medicus for you, and Golf essentials inc headquarters 856-429-5554.
Just for your info here are the links where I found all of this out: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-761-2744/2 and http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-655-8428. or you can do a search for md golf essentials. anyways thank you for your time.

This company is a scam!!! I ordered 1 dvd set that was supposed to be $120.00. Not only did I pay the $120.00 but they have been charging my credit card $21.80 additional for the last four months. They said they sent me an extra dvd and that had 5 monthly installments of $21.80 I did not authorize additional charges to my credit card nor did I ask for anything extra. I called them today to dispute this and told them I want a full refund for the unauthorized charges and the guy told me "no" it was outside of the 60 day window. Really? Oh you mean the 60 day window I knew nothing about ? Next call is to my credit card company After that the BBB then the attorney general. I also just called the AJA who's logo is posted on the Medicus website. AJA says they have no affiliation with Medicus other than Medicus paid for a few qualifiers that AJA hosted. I left a message with an AJA employee to call me back.

I ordered the Medicus driver and 7 iron two weeks ago as a gift.  It needed to be shipped internationally and was sent to a shipping company.  I have been on the phone with Medicus every other day (1-800-772-4979) trying to obtain an invoice.  I was initially told that the Accounting department would e-mail the invoice.  Then, I was told that the invoice would need to be mailed as they don't e-mail invoices.  When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was told they were too busy helping other customers.  I insisted on holding until a supervisor was available, and was told that I could not hold that someone would return my call.  I, again, insisted that I hold until a supervisor became available and the CSR hung up on me.  After reading all of the complaints, I am now extremely concerned.  I placed my order over the phone and paid in full.  However, when I received confirmation of my order, it did not include a total.  Although I have made numerous calls, I can't get any answers and I can't seem to retrieve a copy of the invoice.  I wonder if the golf channel is aware of the issues with this company.  This is outrageous!!!

SCAMMERS!! I placed an order for a Medicus Driver via a phone call just last week. Not only did they charge me for the "purchase" (which I might never see), but there are a number of odd charges to my card from Medicus. By odd i mean .50 here, 1.00 there, .10 cents.....just a bunch of them.
They state that they do not sell/disclose consumer information, but that is a LIE!

DO NOT BUY this product.   They are extremely difficult to deal with and the promotions are deceiving.  I ordered the driver but they charged me for the irons as well before I even received any product.  When my driver arrived several weeks late, I returned it and they claimed they never received it.  I called my credit company and they luckily disputed the charge for me but the Medicus customer service called me everyday for 3-4 days and even on Christmas Eve and New Year's eve. The people are very rude.

Stay away from this company.

Same thing as everyone else here has said -

I bought the medicus driver and 5-iron about a year and a half ago (the driver later broke - the club head just flew off), and I was going over my bank statement when I saw the charge for $69. Called medicus, they lied, told me I must have signed up for some service with "Golf Essentials," and "affiliated company" and referred me to the number 1-888-447-1881.

I'm even more pissed off b/c I think most of us will probably just get the charge overturned, cancel the bank/credit card and then never follow up (I admit it, I'm lazy, and $69, though annoying, isn't enough to make me want vengeance), and these guys will keep doing this. So if someone wants to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, or file some suit or anything - please post something here to that effect and maybe a bunch of us could combine forces, make it easier.
