I got a call day before yesterday from Oscar Williams, "Senior Creative Director" at Explore Talent.com. He said that the picture I had uploaded that morning was a perfect match for an audition being held near where I live. I was getting bad cell reception at the time, and told him my mother would call back when she got home. She called back the NEXT DAY and he told her something about a Kristin Bell movie, and everything was going fine until he said that there would be like a $200 activation fee for my account before they could go any further with the process, and she told him about how I pay for all my own stuff, and that she would discuss it with me. When she said this he was extremely pressuring of her to call him back before 6, and he was like "the role may already be gone by then, so get back to me asap!" and kept pressuring her like that. So, she told me (as an experienced adult) that she was not comfortable, and felt like it was just a scam because of the high-pressure sales, and such, and that she didn't feel like I should do it. Reluctantly, I agreed, and told her I'd tell him no. This morning he called, and I missed it, then called back, and told him I was financially unable to do it (which is very true!), and he STILL kept pressuring me to find any possible way to come up with it, so I said I'd try to see what I could come up with and call back in 15 minutes. I called back, having scrounged up $40, and then he KEPT pressuring me to come up with more and more, and finally I just had to flat out decline, and he hung up quite disgruntled. YET, even as he was hanging up he said I had 2 hours to come up with the money... WOW TALK ABOUT PRESSURE?!?!?!?! My mother and I are both very sure this is a scam, and we hope that this will help yall in the future who are trying to decide for yourselves...
God Bless You All, and may He grant you wisdom and guidance in yall's career decisions(:

P.S. the call was not actually from 800-763-8517, it was from 1-866-611-8672, if that helps any of you know who to be cautious of.

I am a member of Exploretalent.com. Exploretalent does not make such phone calls. U signup as a member list ur talents, search their web site for auditions and submit your self to the ones of ur choice and only the project casting who accept u contact u ONLY through email w day and time of audition, which always is a group of several people n a well know bussiness u can call and verify if in fact the company will be @ the place and time emailed to you. They R not any auditions just for an individual. sometime not very often a secratary of a casting director sends u an email inviting u too an audition u have not submitted ur self to. Even at the auditions u never see the casting director, u see a casting crew. I have never spoken to anyone on the phone concerning auditions and noone has had a foriegn accent. These are obviously people using the exploretalent name.  The phone number listed isn't even Exploretalents phone number.

I just received a call from 1 800 888 0999 but didn't get to answer it. The "Creative Director" named Christina left me a voicemail saying "Hi. This is Christina Creative Director from Explore Talent. I recently matched you up with a lot of casting auditions in your area ready for you to attend please give me a call back at 1(800) 888-0999 extension 3116. Thank you. Have a nice day." It sounded shady so I googled it and found this site. It's not the same #, but same "Creative Director" bullcrap from Explore Talent.

I also got a call from this number. They said they were "explore Talent" in Hollywood, CA. The man had a heavy accent that I could barely understand. He wanted to talk to my son. They kept calling for my son everyday until I asked them, "I am his mother, What can I help you with?" The man then put another foreign accent man on the line and he said he wanted to activate my son's profile and he wanted me to send $30 in for activation of something. I said "NO" then he hung up.

ame thing - 'Creative Director' called to say they had auditions for me.
Then they began to talk about business cards and my own website. Asked me why I wanted to do this. Told me $$ needed to be the #1 reason!! I then got to talk to the 'Creative Director's' superior (um sure, that's they way it works - NOT!)Who went on and on telling me how he didn't have time to go into details (a 20-minute call from someone who doesn't have time????) and that I would receive 30,000 or some such ridiculous number of auditions per month. And guess what? I'd get preference because I had business cards and a Talent Advisor.
Silly silly silly. I didn't even wait for the sales pitch. I was having a hard time not laughing! Couldn't even understand what those men were trying to say! Oh, and my eyes- they told me my eyes are brown when they're blue!
Plus they kept calling me by my last name, or 'Annie'. I am NOT 'Annie'!
Thank you for posting here, because I got a feeling when the call started and Googled the 'agency'. Got this site!!

I got 2 calls back-to-back from 2 different morons that don't speak English very well.  One ID said "UNAVAILABLE" the next one a minute later said "Unknown".  It seems those scam artists are dumber than hell since they hit me twice on their 'lists'.

They both said they were a director and they wanted me to do auditions.  One had me auditioning for 'serious parts' while the other one just had me doing 'commercials'.  Both said to call back.

I am thinking of calling back and playing along and just before sending whatever money is needed, say, 'SIKE this is the BBB'.

Dear Consumers,

Financial Freedom of America is aware of the telemarketing being performed through an auto dialer using the phone number 800.451.7391.  Financial Freedom of America only advertises through radio, television and billboards.  We have never, nor will we ever, use outbound advertising methods such as telemarketing with an auto dialer.
We have already filed a complaint on our behalf with the Federal Trade Commission (complaint # 21093301), and we are working with the Texas Attorney General’s Office in a proactive approach to prosecute the individual or individuals behind this scam to the fullest extent of the law.
We have been successful in tracing the ownership of the phone number to a company located in Carlsbad, CA, but unfortunately, at this time we can not reveal the company’s name for legal reasons.  As soon as we have a resolution to this problem, we will post an update.  Thanks in advance for your understanding in this frustrating situation for all of us.

Very respectfully,
Financial Freedom of America

I just got a call from this same number. He told me that they wanted to audition me for a feature film produced by Ashton Kutcher's company. This is a complete scam. No reputable agency would call random people for jobs like this. Especially, if they do not know the acting capacities of the person they are calling. Do not fall for this scam. He said his name was Patrick Morris. He had an accent which obviously does not match the name. Be careful out there people. Fortunately, I did not pick up the phone. I just got a pathetic voice message that I could barely understand. It seemed rehearsed too.
