I received calls from them.  I have no DISCOVER card so now what?

I just received a phone call from 18007671134... they left me a voicemail (female voice) telling me to call the number back. Who is this???????

The recorded message always is calling in the Lewisberry, pa area at 2:30 pm almost every week day.  Is there any info on why? and should I be checking my phone bills for improper use of my line?

My friend was getting this too. It's pretty funny.

I decided to call it from my phone.

You are greeted with "Thank you for calling discover card. Please enter the last 4 digits of your account number."

I entered 9999.

"Please enter the last 4 digits of your social security number."

I entered 9999.

Please enter your 5 digit zip code."

I entered 99999.

"We were unable to process your request with the information provided. Please enter the last 4 digits of your account number."

To me it seems like some sort of weird information gathering system. If this was discover card and they really needed to reach you why wouldn't they simply call you?

Hay Folks, I just called the 800-767-1134 and pressed zero's 0-0-0-0 untill someone answered. Then I made him tell who it was on the other end. They were very nice and explained that they were Discover accounts Dept. I gave them my phone number and told him that I did NOT have an account with Discover. He came back with my wife's name and address. Which was correct! Also the balance on the account was also correct. I think these folks are genuine deal. I also explained that that number with no information given sounds like a scam and rip-off!! The account agreed and made a note to the supervisor.

The phone number by a girl person...nothing else....

It was discover card. I agree- super shady, they should definitely provide their name in the message.

This is a ligit number for Discovery Credit Card and the operator says some states do not allow the mention of the company. I lodged a complaint with Discovery Credit Card and requested to change their way of notifying their customers, as I too thought this was a scam and ignored it for days!.

I received a call several times now...  'And just remembered, my Discover bill is late. 8/

This is a call from debt collection at Discovery card.  I am 82 years old and it takes
me at least three rings to get up to answer--five to get to the phone.  I don't own
a Discover card--never did and now I know I never will.

Please afford me the freedom to not have to put up with this.

These people keep calling my home number and despite numerous requests to stop calling because I have never had (nor now will!) a Discover card, they refuse to stop their harassing phone calls.  Collection agents answering their phone number are RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!! Let's report these folks to the FTC, FCC, Consumer Protection Agency and Better Business Bureau!

I too have been getting non stop calls from 801-902-2938 for last week. Today, that number called me 5 times!! I finally got a generic voicemail with a lady IDing herself as "Barb" from Discover. The message stated to call Discover at 1-800-767-1134. I have never been late on ANY of Discover Card payments. I got my latest statement in the mail last Friday saying I was late on a payment. The statement was the first I had gotten since the last payment! Based on reading the above messages, something is going on...

I received a similar call and I'm glad I did.  I am a longtime customer and there was a problem with a phone payment that wasn't credited to my account, and because of this we were able to resolve it quickly.  If you are a responsible adult, wouldn't you want to know if you missed a payment, and why would you consider it "harassment"?  Do you expect them to psychicly know that you know you missed a payment, as opposed to it being an oversight?  Get a grip, people.

Also, Discover is better than any other card I have with monitoring usage and calling for anything suspicious.  This minimizes fraud, protects my identity, and saves us all money.

After getting the same call and reading these posts I called Discover's 800# directly and found out I did have a payment due which I made over the phone. Probably too late to avoid late charge.

Female voice urging me to call them back. Interestingly the call was from 1-801-902-3152 but the message was asking to call the above #. This site says its a call from Discover. I don't own a Discover card! Plus they are calling me on a WORK cell phone. This isn't even MY cell phone they are harassing. I've gotten several calls like this from other companies since I recvd. this work phone. I've only had it about 2 months. This is very annoying - if anyone from Discover is reading this please make sure you are calling the right person.

I have gotten at least 5 calls a day from these people wanting me to call them back. I do not even own a discover card and I finally called and told them I do not own a discover card she was very nice asked for the phone # and my name and removed me from the list. It seems people are putting random phone numbers so they can not be contacted when they do not pay their bill. I do believe that once they leave a message for that day that they do not need to call four more times! That is a typical collections department!Relentless!!

We have had a female voice call with the number.  It has happen several days in a row.  I have not called.  My bill is not late.  If it is Discovery, then they will have to identify themselves before I call that number.

Thank you for this site.  I have been receiving this call (automated voice that just states, call 1/800-767-1134 - no nicey nice or who's calling or what for) for over 3 weeks.  Yes, my account is overdue for the first time in decades, but I have the new bill, WITH finance charges (so I have the privilege of paying late fees AND getting pesty phone calls - what a deal!!) that isn't even due yet & I'm getting harrassed over it.  Well, you all know how to stop these calls - right, pay the bill, but I am with John & Earl on March 6, I am not sure this is the type company I want to deal with.  Maybe if people left Discover, they'd figure out they were doing something irritating.  Ya think?

More information. It is a legitimate Discovery Card number. These phone calls are the result of them thinking you are late on a payment.

Caller ID number 801-902-2091--known to be Discover.,   recording mentioned they had "ways to save with your tax refund or economic stimulus check"  and that they had a special offer--I'd better call 800-767-1134.  All without identifying who they were.   I hope nobody out there is foolish enough to return a call like this...do they think they're being funny?   Well I'm laughing, but I'm not calling them back.

I AM late with my Discover payment....
Just got a call from this number, but I would NEVER return a call like that.  No name, no identification.  If it weren't for this site, I wouldn't have known that my payment was late.

Yes, this is Discover collections.  I just talked to someone and they were very nice.  It could just be a mistake that they called you, but they won't know that if you never call them back.  You will probably continue to get calls from them until they realize they have made a mistake.

I continue to get a voice recorded message to call 1-800-767-1134 at least once a week. Have never tried calling them back. Getting aggravating. If it is Discover Card, I don't even own one!
And none of my bills are late.

I got the same call - a random girl on a recording - called it said it was Discover Card - asking for my account #.  I called Discover - they claimed it was legit.  I was a member for 12+ years - never missed a payment - always paid in full - my check was 3 days late and they treated me like a dead beat....   I WAS a member - NEVER again - how pathetic.

I just assumed that the answering machine cut off the beginning of the message, but I guess that Discover likes to keep their identity a secret and hopes that you call back this unidentified number because a sweet voice asked you to...twice!
