He told me that my warranty has expired, and don't let me hang up the phone because they said if I hang up the phone, they are not gonna let me buy the warranty again. My phone ran out of battery, after I recharged it, I called my car dealer and they told me I still have my warranty.

SO, DON'T TRUST THEM!!!!

I am actually very happy they called.the warranty on my ford explorer expired.the truck needed transmission work two months later.needless to say my mechanic told me i saved about four thousand dollars thank god i had that warranty.I would have not been able to pay it or my rent and i need the truck to go to work.they were very polite and professional and gave clear and concise explanation of what i was buying and what would be covered and how long.

Received 2nd mailing via USPS...."FINAL NOTICE.....Automotive Warranty about to expire."  I bought a used car in 2003, and NEVER HAD a warranty on it.  This just began happening in August 2008.  My concern is....1. WHERE are they getting the mailing information?  And....2.  Is anyone else having any OTHER types of odd calls or mailings cropping up around the same time as this issue?  Has anyone checked their Credit Report lately to see if there's a problem LARGER than just "these people--ie auto warranty?"  Unsolicted mailings like this one, STINK unto High Heaven that some ELSE could be wrong......

These folks are scam artists. Telemarketers that get a list of recently purchased vehicles and call about a warranty package for your car/truck. They don't represent the dealer. And WAIT until you get a load of the price they'll quote you for an extended service contract. It is another 50% above the actual dealer/manufacturer's cost. And, many will not take a check. They want to bill direct to your credit card. Phoney-baloney salepeople. There outta be a law against these types of businesses that prey on people.

PS - There are multiple groups around the nation. Another is based in Missouri (St. Louis) and another in California. Different numbers, but they have me on their mailing list.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. THEY KNOW NOTHING OF YOUR CAR OR YOUR WARRANTY. THEY ARE SMART MOUTH WHEN YOU CALL THEM TOO.  I AM SICK OF THEIR CALLS AND MAIL.  I HAVE A NEW CAR AND AN ETENDED WARRANTY AND DON'T NEED THIER FOOLISHNESS.  THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS WHERE I LIVE THAT IT WAS ON THE 6:00 NEWS.  WE WERE ADVISED TO HANG UP AND REPORT IT...I, LIKE A NUT, DIDN'T WRITE DOWN THE NUMBER. BUT,I AM GOING TO FIND OUT THAT NUMBER AND REPORT THEM FOR CONSTANT ABUSE....CALLING CONSTANTLY, WRITING LETTERS CONSTANTLY, AND REFUSING TO TAKE YOU OFF THEIR LIST IS ABUSE.  THE LAST THING I READ ON THIS PAGE WAS  TO CONTACT THEM...THEY AREN'T VERY EDUCATED EITHER...IT SAYS "YOU CAN COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS COMPANY"...   HA HA HA.. IT'S COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS COMPANY. USE PROPER ENGLISH AS NOT TO GIVE YOU FRAUD AND MONEY SEEKING DUMB A**ES AWAY!!! I HOPE THEY GET ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO GET THEM IN COURT...MAYBE EVEN LOCKED UP WHERE THEY BELONG.  IF ANY NORMAL CONSUMERS READ THIS AND YOU GET THE SAME CRAP AS EVERYONE ELSE, CALL THE POLICE....ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WON'T STOP....911

Just got a mailing from these people, with the "URGENT" stuff on it; however, no return address or envelope.  Very likely a scam so DO NOT CALL -- will be absolutely useless to talk with them.  I got this after recently moving, so they are probably getting mailing lists from USPS when you forward mail to new address.  USPS gives out or sells mailing lists to legitimate businesses for "welcome special" coupons and deals (some are good and useful) to people new to an area.  But, on the downside, you get crap like this.  Just my theory anyway.

They keep calling me...but I didn't answer the calls from them. After I receive many calls from them, I got a letter stating that my warranty had been expired!!! And in a big bold red letters saying...TO AVOID LATE FEES OR PANALTIES, PLEASE CALL WITHIN 3 DAYS OF RECEIPT OF THIS LETTER.  CALL NOW 1-800-771-7251 by Cindy Marshall ( Warranty Manager). I think this is just another SCAM!!! So, don't trust them!!!

I received a letter and was curious on who they were.  I called and did not give them my info.  I asked who they were and they said they were the company providing the extended warranty on my car.  I told them that my dealership was covering my warranty and he said that they are contracted from the dealerships.  I then asked him why I was needing to purchase further extended coverage on my car when it was only 2 years old and the regular warranty had not expired.  At this time we was angry...  said that there was a mistake and hung up.

He was rude and belligerent and I called just to know the scoop.  Scams are everywhere....

Until today I never recieved one of these cards before and I always work on my own cars, but recently I had a wheel allignment done at Sears, I was wondering how they had my name and vehicle info on the card and where these two pieces of info would come together. Thanks for the tip. next time I'm back at Sears I'm going to bring the card and demand to sit down with a supervisor to review the forms that they asked me to sign before working on my car because I don't see a spot where I gave them permision to release information

So, i called this company right, and they seemed super nice. im on ly 19 and just bought my uased car 3 months ago. They kept wanting my credit card number and i kept telling them i had class and i needed to think about it. then they went into a huge explanation that this offer was only for this time and they couldn't wait for a call later. then i was transfered to someone else. back and forth. it sucked. i dont understand why they wouldnt let me call back. they made me late for class and got me to give them my credit card for a down payment of 100 which will be taken out this monday. i didnt even have time to think and now im worried about my account. they said i have 30 days to cancell. do you really get charged for calling them? they kept talking to me for like a half hour and wouldnt let me get off the phone.i dont know what to do.i dont want to be with them especially if they are a scam

I did not get any calls yet but I did get a letter. Looked somewhat official but very questionable. So I googled the phone number and found all of these comments.

So you all know,  I just bought the car less than two months ago and it has 34 more months or 33,000 miles of Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty and an additional 58 more months, 48,000 miles of drive train warranty. My guess is that these "Motor Vehicle Services" guys are a total scam.

Ever since we bought our SUV a few mo's ago, we've been recieving these B.S. notices in the mail about our so called warranty about to expire! I knew it was a scam from the start but after looking them up on this website now I know for sure that they are and thanks, Chip for the link to the BBB as I'm reporting them now! My husband, who trusts everybody, actually wanted me to call them until I explained to him that it was probably a scam. Are there any reliable places out there where someone can purchase a REAL warranty for their used vehicle? Thanks as always to everyone on this website! p.s. another thing I found questionable about this mailing was that it only had the 1-866-238-6239 number on it- no where on the mailing was an address or name of the company, other than at the top it had something about Motor Vehicle Services! Scammers!

I'm pretty sure this number is a scam (1-866-238-6239)
I just called them, and they claimed to be "Motor Vehicle Services"
but when I asked if they were listed with the better business bureau

they said they could be found in St Peters Missouri under the name of
Direct Warranty Services LLC, which has a different phone number listed for it.

kind of suspicious if you ask me

I don't understand what the issue is with you all. Who cares you got a mailer just like I do from local cable, internet, and every other company out there. I purchased a warranty for my car 2 years ago and yes they don't cover every little item but they did save me 1200.00 on a repair..

I got that same letter with the same phone number, 1-866-238-6239, as stated in a comment earlier, except this time it is from Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  Looked legit right? I just barely moved and changed my address with the DMV. I thought it was real because how else would they know my new address and make of my car unless they really had the warranty on my car, but then I got curious and googled the number and read this. So confusing.  Makes me mad that people would do that.

I didn't receive a call is this is a made up name due to the fact that don't want nobody to know who I am.  But I did however receive a letter in the mail stating that I must call this number because of expiration on the 1999 Ford vehicle that I have but what they fail to realize is that there over thirteen owners for this vehicle and the purchase was from a private owner.

Recieved a letter in the mail stating my factory warranty is about to or has expired.  The whole 0% financing which is odd becasue I am 20 and have applied for a couple credit cards to start building my credit but have been denied due to lack of credit history. I am pretty dence and that shows a red flag to me. My letter says they are out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL permit # 792. Same immediate action and warning on the outside, looks professional. I have also been received calls on my cell phone around 5 months ago. The calls have dwindeled since Googled the "No Call List" and added my cell number. Currently I have no received a call roughly a month now.

These people get your information from the state you live in. When you register your vehicle with your state, they turn around and sell your information to these clowns. There is a way to opt out in each state, some have a small box to check on your registration if you don't want them to sell your information to others. It may be different state by state, but it is your state that is selling your information.

This exact thing has just happened to me. I live in Detroit.  The letterhead looked legit, and hte financing was pretty good so I called.  I spoke with three people and it was too good to be true, Zero% interest for 24 months.  $108 a month. Everyone can afford that right?  Well I just didn't feel right, something was wrong.

Don't trust calls from MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICES phone # 1-866-238-6239

I got a cheezy tear off the sides letter about my factory warranty being expired.  My vehicle has 20,000 miles on it and is just over one year old, I also have an extended warranty for 70000 or 84 months.  I have recieved phone calls saying my warranty is expiring.  I have requested that this company stops contacting me, yet it is the same old crap!  I think the dealerships are double dipping and selling our info to scam artists who will pay for it.  We the consumer are the ones that can stop this, I think everyone should call these idiots every spare moment that we have, and waste their time.

They act like you are a customer and tell you that your warranty is expiring. Then try and sell you a new one. I have never had an auto warranty in the first place! When you ask for any other information on the company they hang up on you.
