I checked my credit report after these people called me and there is absolutely nothing on it at all regarding this supposed debt.  I guess they think we're all stupid and don't know our rights.

I am sick to death of all these scammers trying to threaten me into giving them $ for something that doesn't even exist!! I mean they've broken numerous laws already by calling me at work; and then leaving all kinds of details of their "bogus" claims. This kind of stuff just angers me to no end because it's all of us who are likely working our butts off to make a living and then these scumbags all sit in an office; figuring out of how many ways to scam good; hard working people out of their money. NOT GONNA HAPPEN YOU A** H***. Then when they actually have the balls to send letters to my parents address on a "Word" document any novice can download or create in MS Word; about their bogus company and bogus debt. I found it ironic that not only is this other company non-existent they have denied all requests to validate this "debt"; and since I've never lived at that address before they couldn't find me they said! LOL! What a crock! And besides that; this so called debt; I've NEVER had a credit card from that company!! I really hate when I have to take precious time out of my day to fight all this stupid crap! Don't give any of thes scammers any information on you; don't let them hassle you and certainly don't give them any money! Your credit score will not likely be affected since the debt likely doesn't exist or was paid off years and years ago! UGH! I despise these bottom feeders! Today they're "Capital Mitigation" who will they be tomorrow? ANd it looks like they've gone by a few names just in the past month or so!!

I just got the same call from Emmanuel Carter stating pretty much the exact same thing everyone posted. He called from a 708-843-8012 (which is probably a dummy number) first and left a message stating exactly what he told you and to call 800-771-9766.

Because I was totally annoyed by the attempt of the scam artist I turned the tables and throughout the day I will call them ?Blocked? and stalk them instead or some times I will ask for Emmanuel Carter and just let the phone sit there till he eventually hangs up. Let?s see how the feel to be harassed. Lol!

these low life scum bag scammers are the most illegal operation going.  Dont fall for their illegal scam people.  if they call you, REQUEST their MAILING ADDRESS (they will of course refuse to give it to you), request ANY AND ALL DEBT VALIDATION IN WRITING VIA THE MAIL. Of course they WONT do that because if they do, sending illegal fraudulent mail now becomes a FEDERAL OFFENSE from MAIL FRAUD.  Have fun with these scum bags, call them constantly.  Tie their phones down.  Call these scum bags and then three way conference them in with their same number so the scam artists cant answer the phones.  Also, I call the FTC hotline then conference in these scam artist scum bags so they HEAR the complaint being filed against them.

They cannot due a single thing at all... by law.  They try to scare people so that they can get a commission on the money that you may or may not owe.  Do not pay them or talk to them as your credit score will not be affected than it already had bee.

This is a version of the you-have-committed-a-crime extortion scam and you are being...
1. charged with fraud or passing bad checks or embezzlement or
2. served with a court summons or arrest warrant or bench warrant or whatever or
3. located in preparation to being served or for a lawsuit or to be arrested or
4. sued for cable TV usage that you've been stealing for years or
5. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.

And you have to...
1. call back with your case number or
2. confirm your address or SSN or whatever so you can be served or your papers can be processed or
3. pay $895 now to avoid paying $5,000 in court or
4. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.

Beware extortion scams come in many flavors and they constantly evolve to stay one step ahead of the law.

I got a cal from this number stating that his name was michael stevens from mte financial saying i owed a payday loan from them, as i sent them my pd in full recept he said it was not valid that i was going to court and they would have an attorney contact me i looked up the name he gave me capital litigations and it have me several listing i called my origional loan company and they told me there was no way a company can take you to court for a loan that has been pd off or charged off. beware i was frauded one time and thats enough for me.

I also received a call from this number.  Indicating that I owed money for a payday loan.  Never applied asked what bank did this money go to they indicated First Union.  There is no first union in my area.  Beware of this company they are truly a SCAM.

My family and friends have been hounded by this companyfrom someone saying they are Emmanuel Carter. When inquiring about there company told me the same thing! I have recently been scammed by online scanners out of 6000! The FBI told me to be on alert because they most likely were not finished yet. I definitely know these people are a scam!

i have been getting these same phone calls for the past two days..they call my sister house and i have no idea how they got her number..its some lady named stephanie who keeps calling me saying i owe them money and i have to pay.. fi have no mail from them at all, they cant even send me anything in mail showing whats the problem and wjhats going on. they just say i owe them money and i have to pay them over the phone and set up a payment plan with them...im just going to turn everyhting over to my lawyer. and i live in st louis mo...one person on here was from ga..so hey must be trying to get over on people...

I spoke Terry Banks today relating to a call made concerning the collection on a defaulted loan that was now part of a civil complaint.  I asked Mr. Bank about his company, CMIT Group, and was directed to the Gerogia State Department Corporation Bureau to verify the company's existence.  I did just that after Mr. Banks hung up on me for the second time.  The Georgia Secretary of State has no record of CMIT Group as of 07/13/2011.  Mr. Banks would provide no information on the alledged civil complaint, but finally said his company called the wrong person.  Of course, Mr. Banks does not beleive his company violated the Federal Debit Collection by doing this.  Beware of any call from this number and CMIT Group.

According to them, I owe them $800. When I checked my credit report, it states this bill was closed/paid in full.

My brother-in-law got a call from this company looking for my daughter. They said she owes them money...my daughter is 8 yrs old! She doesn't owe anyone a dime! SCAMMERS!

The caller did not leave a message.

I just got a call at work stating that owed them money and they were willing to settle out of court for 630.00 and I had 48 hours to make up my mind as to what I was going to do. The guy calling was a John Hall stating he was calling on behalf of MGE Financial.
