This is a collection agency, attempting to collect a debt. What kind of debt? I've got the slightest clue. However, they're relentless. They El call every single day without fail. And trying to call them back with a blocked number, proves to be ineffective. Some how our another, their phone system unmask your number this allowing them to know who is calling. I allowed the call to go to voice mail due to the fact that I didn't recognize the number and they left a automated message indicating that this was RENEX INC. Attempting to collect a debt and to please return their call at the provided number. Therefore I did call then back, blocking my number and just as soon as someone answered the call, they immediately as for the person that they've been trying to reach. So I told them that I do not appreciate the fact that I'm receiving a number of phone calls from then and wish to be taken off their call list. Because it's obvious that the person you're trying to reach either refuses to take your call, they may be the wrong recipient, and bottom line is, it's harassment. They're other methods available to track a person down and if you feel the need to have to make several attempts to reach them via phone, then maybe you should resort to an alternative method. By the way, if in fact I am or was the recipient, and I request that they stop calling me, then by law, they have to stop. If they don't, you're able to file civil charges with your local police department. Although it may not be simple as just calling your PD, it may just be worth it. Especially if they won't stop calling. They're well within their rights to attempt to collect a debt, but intimidating or harassing isn't legal. There are a number of apps on the market to record your phone calls should you feel like you have to. Also apps that can block the call completely. If they're calling your landline then you can take the number they're calling from and contact your phone carrier to have that number permanently blocked from calling you again. Hope this helps.

they call everyday. we have no outstanding debt. They give you an 800 number to call them back and then they put you on hold for a long time. i will try again and tell them to stop calling me or I will report them to the proper authorities.

I got a called from # 1-609-945-3000 my caller ID showed "other" as caller. A woman identified herself as Pat Baker and said that they're attempting to collect a debt. I requested a # to call back they gave me 1-800-772-9284. When I called back a women picked up the phone but did not identify herself nor the company. I mention that I'm returning their call, they put me on hold and then Pat Baker picked up. She said in so many words that they're a collection agency "remex" so on and so on....I requested that she give me specifics pertaining to the account that she called about. She could not identify the account nor can she tell me the lender's info. Long behold she hung up...
Beware, if you get calls like these, let the caller identify specific info. DO NOT give them any info over the phone.

I also received a hand written note wedged in my door. They need to be stopped. This is haressment to the fullest!

My mom got a call from this # and I called it back.  They refused to identify themselves.  They asked my mom to go to the neighbors house to tell the neighbor to call the #..  I want to know who it is.  Does anyone know who this is?

I just had the same thing happen. I came home with a note from my neighbor that said this number called and he has been unable to return my calls to him (Ron Ryan) and for them to leave me a note.

My brother got a call about my grandmother (who is in the nursing home) requesting to speak with whomever handles her finances. His name was Ray Reed - kinda close to Ron Ryan (above) huh?!? Anyone have any ideas???

Everyone should call the telephone company and the police dept., to see what can be done to these people for their constant harrassment. I know that this company is in Houston, Texas.

This people are a collection company and I believe the name is remex or renex its weird because I can't find them on the web but I talked to Pat Evans a representative and the one lady who answered the phone was very rude and fail to identified her self or company, question is.... by law don't they need identifi the company's name, them self and them recording the call? When they called me the number showed 1 609 945 3000 but when I call I get no answer, but when I answered their call they game me a 1 800 772 9284 and that's where the lady answered the pone.

these people came to my house, knocked on my door at 10:00 in the morning. I was unable to come to the door. I later found a hand written note on the winshield of my car. With the name Ray Reed on it and the number 1800 772 9284. When I called back they wouldnt identify their company and flat out denied coming to my home.

Company name is Remex Located in Rocky Hill, NJ 08553.  It is a collection agency.

I too received this same call, a woman identifying herself as Karen Dennis, some lame hobag, attempting to collect a debt. Funny thing is, the first attempt was from 609-945-3000. Good thing I screen my calls.

A phone message referred me to this number. A Karen Dennis, a raspy-sounding live female speaker (not the usual robo-call female voice) phoned my home from a different number, 1-609-945-3000.

First, she stated she was calling to collect a debt. She identified herself as Karen Dennis, from Ramex (spelling?) Inc., and said to contact her at the 800-772-9284 number. THEN, she switched tactics and said it was "an important business matter". Whatever. Thank goodness I just vet all my phone calls to the answering machine first. This one gets a resounding *delete*!!

Woman called used the name Judy James. Gave me the number 800-772-9284 to call. I asked for a business name or reference number and she there is neither but to please ask him to call. I'll tell him to proceed with caution. Thanks everyone for your posts.

Jo-Anne called repeatedly and convinced me that something terrible had happened and my neighbor who I don't know needed to be contacted.  Calls me several times per day. I went to my neighbors to leave notes and give the urgent message. The neighbor looked up the number only to find this website.

I received a call from Joyce from 800-772-9284 at my place of business.  Asking for my dad, No explanation  except its a personal matter.

Just got the call wanting me to go over to my neighbor's house and tell them to call this guy in the next five minutes....totally ridiculous.

I had a voicemail from this company when I got back from a meeting.  When I called, they answered with "How can I help you?"  I told them I was told to call this number, and he immediately asked for my account number.  I told him I had no idea to whom I was speaking, nor what company he may represent.

Apparently, it's a call center that works with a debt collection agency that works with many companies.  How that all works out, I have no idea.

I've been neglecting a card, so I got this type of call from the bank itself a while back.  We worked out a deal where if I paid a certain amount (like 3x the normal minimum) over the next couple of months, they'd consider my account up to date and not send me to collections.  No problem, and the first payment has already been cashed by them.

This company was attempting to collect a debt, and in order to bring my account current, I had to pay nearly twice the newly agreed upon amount, or else my account would be charged off.  I told him he was nuts, that I already had an agreement with the bank, and I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

The audacity that came out of his mouth next astonished me.  He wanted me to contact the bank, get that agreement in writing, and fax it over to him.  I said, in no uncertain terms, that if there is a communication problem between their two companies, then those two companies need to figure it out, and I should be left out.

So, while not necessarily a scam, there's no way in hell they're getting any account information from me.

My mom called me today and said someone called her house (where I used to live) and asked for me. When she mentioned that I wasn't there and asked to take a message, the man said to have her(me) call Jim Abrahms at 800-772-9284. He said, "She'll know what it's in regards to" Me not knowing what or who this person was, called back. Thinking, it's an 800 number it's a business, it rang twice then a man got on the phone and said, "can I help you" NOT the way a BUSINESS would answer the phone.

I received a call from Jim Abrams from 800-772-9284 at my place of business.  No explanation to my secretary except its a personal matter.  My secretary would not give any information and they insisted it is very important etc.  No doubt a scam

People from this company keep calling our phone number.  They call from several different numbers today it was this one.  They also keep giving different numbers to call back.  Today the number they called from was 609-945-3000.  They always give some type of generic name.  Jim Abrams, Alan Richards etc... and refuse to say who they are or what they want.  One such call the caller stated that they had some kind of business deal.

Whatever it is and whomever they are - they are violating all kinds of laws.  Our phone numbers are listed on all DO NOT CALL LISTS.  They appear to be some kind of telemarketers with a scam.  THe phone number they asked us to call today was 800-772-9284.

I just received a phone call from these people.   They asked if I had my neighbors phone number.  They had the name and address, but no phone #.  They asked me to leave a note in the neighbor's mailbox asking him to call them back @ 800-772-9284.  The name I was given was also Carol Babs.

My daughter just received a call from these people.  I tried to call back on the 609 # with no answer, the I tried # 800 # They would not identify the company but they have called ID and knew my daughters name, asked if I was her. I told them I was going to report them if they didn't give me the name of their company, he refused.  The call back name was Carol Babs

MY MOM GOT A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE...THEY INSIST SHE CALLS THEM BACK. THEY VERIFIED OUR ADDRESS AND OLD NUMBER AND MY MOM IS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT WHO THIS IS.  THEY WILL NOT IDENIFY THEMSELVES, SO MY DAD WILL NOT LET HER CALL THEM BACK....WHAT SHOULD WE DO.  MY MOM IS ILL AND I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...I WISH THEY WOULD STOP CALLING OR IDENTIFY THEMSELVES...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO THIS IS....

Received a call from a man that ID'd himself as Kevin Jones and he requested that I give his name/number to my neighbor, he knew my neighbors name and address, but wanted me to leave a message in the mailbox for my neighbor to call him, he would only tell me that it was a personal, time sensative matter.  We called the # back, and they just answered "hello" and did not identify any business.  If he knew my neighbors address, why did they not mail him a message?
