This is a robocall reminding of a DMV appointment at the Southwest office in Bakersfield.  There is a problem with the recording, which starts near the end of the message, and then instructs you to press "star" to repeat the message.  When I pressed "star" the call disconnected.  

I applied online through my credit union to open a savings certificate for my friend's newborn baby and received an error message from World Financial. The message said there was a problem processing my request and to call customer service at this number. When I called the number (twice), I received a pre-recorded message saying, "Hey sexy guy, what a great way to talk one-on-one with hot women across America..." Fabulous. I hope my banking information hasn't been compromised.

Got a voice mail starting with "you have an upcoming appointment with our field office march 17th," with no reference to the DMV, but I have no such appt.

They called to my text free web number (pinger), and never made an appointment for DMV...Weird

Thanks for the update everyone.  We do have an upcoming appointment with the DMV next week.  It is unfortunately, the phone number came up, however the name CA DMV does not come up on the caller ID.  I would have answered the call and they would have goth their verification that the call was received (since I had legitimate business scheduled with the DMV).  The government should be aware that people no longer pick up unidentified calls, so if they expect a response, they should identify themselves when calling.

Wondering why they couldn't put "CA DMV" on the caller ID instead of "IVR"

I'm guessing it's the DMV (from other comments and because I have an appointment with them coming up) but they just left me two empty voice messages, ~1min long.

Just got that call....picked it up and no answer.  Now I know its a reminder for my written test on Monday.  Sheesh...you can't tell the legitimate from the telemarketers anymore.

Weird. It was a call from the DMV for California. Someone put down the wrong phone #. I live in Tennessee.

Yes it is an appointment reminder from DMV and not a telemarketer.

After paying my renewal a week from today there system still says unpaid. I called six times in a row and all I get is busy singles I cannot get my car out the impound to go home. The dmv is playing games

Lol this is kind of funny. I didn't answer, but this is an automated message from the California DMV about an upcoming appointment at a location in Simi valley or something. What's super funny is.....I live in Phoenix....Arizona. And it sounds like someone used their online form but might have made a typo in their number or something.

Called twice in less than 5 minutes, left no messages.  I have no current business with the DMV, so why the calls?

The automated message starts with a LONG string of silence, then the DMV appointment message finally kicks in after about 10 seconds. The silence threw me off, and I hung up the first time.
