This number is a telemarketing firm giving false information to entice you to attend a timeshare presentation. They are paid by the timeshare company $300.00 for each couple they fool into going to a timeshare presentation.
They fooled me - claiming I was going to an awards ceremony for a contest I had entered. They promised me that I was one of 19 that would receive one of the following - 2008 Eddie Bauer Lincoln Navigator, 8 day/7 night Carnival cruise valued at $8000.00, $2500 cash, or a 32" Toshiba flat screen TV.
All of this was a pure lie. It was just a typical Westgate Resorts timeshare presentation. Painful BS!!!
Don't waste your time and certainly not any money on this scam!

I got a phone call saying I won an all-inclusive trip for two under my yahoo email account. I was told to go to Stanwood, Michigan this coming Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to collect my prize and validate who I was. I was told it would take less than 90 minutes and there was no purchase necessary. Gave his name as Joel. The only requirements for accepting the prize was that I was over the age of 25 and under 70 and married and also that the yearly household income was over 60,000. I was told to call him back at 1-800-779-9962 ext.8065 by 7:00pm if I had any questions. Callback number was a fake, no answer. Caller ID showed 708-441-8065.

Called on 6-26-09 claiming I had won a prize in the "change your life" sweepstakes.  I told them I hadn't entered it.  They said I had and that I had won one of three prizes. They said it didn't cost any money.  That's when I told him thank you bye.

I got this call too. I called the guy back and he said I had won one of the four prizes, Lincoln Navigator, 32 Inch HD, 3 Day/2night trip or 2500 cash.

He said I was one of 12 who won the Grand Prize and asked me to come in and scratch a ticket...shermer road in Northbrooke ...So I asked what were the odds of winning the Lincoln Navigator and he said he did not know. I said if only twelve won then my odds should be one in twelve. He said he did not know. I asked when was the last time someone won one of the prizes besides the 3 Day/2 Night trip...he said he did not know :)

Needless to say, I did not go.

So, you posted this comment on November 12, 2007 complaining about being offered a 2007 Navigator because  you thought it was 2008?  You should be in therapy, not blogging about scams online.

My boyfriend got the call last week saying that one of us had entered in a drawing and won (neither one of us recalled do such a thing since we do not ever want to be solicited).  We were told if we listened to the 90 minute presentation we would get a scratch off card for either a Navigator, $2,500, a 32"tv, or a trip.  We did actually get a scratch off card and get a 3 day, 2 night trip to Mexico (we had to mail in a voucher and wait for the official forms to be returned in the mail so we will see if this happens; I just mailed them yesterday).  The voucher did say that when we book it we will have some fees to pay so we will see what those end up costing before we decide to book. They kept claiming it wasn't a timeshare, but rather luxury condo rentals.  When we were there we won an impromptu contest and won a week's vacation in Mexico (again had to mail in forms and will have fees to pay).  As of right now I am happy to get 2 free trips, even if we end up paying a nominal fee for each (we will see).  I feel like it was worth it to sit through the presentation so far, but will have to post back as soon as I actually get the forms for the trips in the mail and try to book them.

Call just showed as "unknown caller" - but is most similar to the incidents reported above - so it may have been made from the same phone number.

They had my name, address, (and obviously telephone number) and asked if I remembered filling out a "ballot" when making a Toshiba or Lincoln motors purchase.  They even gave a supposed date (about 9 months ago) that I had supposedly filled out this "ballot".  They said they were giving away $2500, or a trip to Orlando (minus taxes and fees), or a Lincoln Navigator.  They said to qualify, I had to be married, between the ages of 28 and 70, and have a household income of more than $50,000.  When I told the person I was not married - he/she seemed very flustered and kept asking "couldn't you arrange something", "just for a day", "just for 90 minutes", "some women friend or cousin or something" to "go to the giveaway center" (they did not say where that was).  *Very* bizarre - the only thing I could think of is they wanted to know whether I was single/married for some particular reason - or - it was a setup to get me to leave the house at a particular date/time.

We received a call from them as well - same prizes - said they put entry boxes in Chicagoland South area - Home Depot, Menards, Lowe's etc...  but the number is different than those listed above.  Our caller ID listed 312-674-4653 but they ask that you call them back at 1-866-598-3512. Seems they have a number of teams for United Travel Network operating all over the place.  Beware!

My wife received the same call tonight at 9:00 pm from 716-524-9957,called UNITED (TRAVEL) NETWORK stating we would receive one of the 4 prizes, 2008 Lincoln Navigator, cruise, $2500.00 or "32 HDTV.  Needed to present 2 forms of ID at appt time and there was no need to purchase anything. Needed us to attend a lecture for 1.5 hr and scratch off winning numbers and receive prize. Told us there will be a gift award ceremony and a refreshment break serving coffee of juice. Told her this allows her word-of-mouth regarding these products be the best means to advertize the above products and that they are paid by the above manufacturers to promote their products by giving them away to reciepients like her. 1st guy and 2nd guy (his manager) both had Indian (from India) accents.

Good news, I may have won a 2008 Navigator.  The have left about 20 messages over the last 8 weeks on my voicemail.  I was supposed to call 1-800-779-9962. They told me to ask for Antonio.
Every time I called back I left a message for them to call me on my work phone, but they never would until today.
I called and told them to stop calling my house and that I had not entered any contest.  The lady who answered said she would give them the message.  5 minutes later the manger of the "Claims Center"  called me and told me that she didn't even see my name as a potential prize winner.  I asked her if she was a vacation comany and she replied "yes, we are Star Vacations." Then she told me that no one by the name Antonio even worked there.  I told her I have all the calls recorded and all of a sudden she would be glad to let Antonion know I called.

I told her to revoke my entry and not to call back.  And then I added that they should not lie to customers about who they are.  Watch out for these people they are for sure SCAM ARTIST.

I received a call from (773) 486-3053 last night and again this morning.  THis morning, they left the same message as above... won a lincoln navigator (among other prizes) and need to call the 866-768-9529 to claim my prive from this yahoo contest.

I was quite alarmed and did not notice there were any previous posts saying they had said any personal information.  They left a message with my full name, address, and email address (yahoo acct.).  Almost impersonating Yahoo... said this was in regards to the email address .... @ yahoo.com.

At first I thought it my be yahoo, but if I did win a prize they would not have had this man who sounded african american and gave me a spanish name:  sergio hernandez,  calling me in such a lousy, nervous tone left on my machine.  He also told me to have a "blessed day!"

Needless to say, I never called him back.

My message was EXACTLY as yours. Did you go? I'm curious as to the outcome. I did get out of the guy "Brian Gibson" that it was for Westgate Resorts.  The number they called from originated out of Chicago (312-265-6341 - 1st call, 312-962-0227 - 2nd call) He told us no longer than an hour. And gave me a claim number for one of the "guaranteed" 4 prizes (same prizes as yours).

I received the same call yesterday from Mark Gray ext 8068 stating I had entered this contest 8 months ago. I would receive one of the 4 prizes, 2008 Lincoln Navigator, cruise, $2500.00 or "32 HDTV.  When he stated that I had to have a major credit card to claim my prize.  I asked "why I needed a credit card to claim my prize?"  He said even prizes won on Oprah had to have taxes paid on them and this was the way of getting their tax money.  I stated I did not have any credit cards he told me he would have to put me on another prize list. This needs to stop!

A guy named "Joel" called my house and left a message saying I won a 2008 Lincoln Navigator and gave me a call-back number of (800) 779-9962 ext. 8065. I called back and was told I was guarenteed 1 of 4 prizes: Navigator, 8 day vacation, $2500, or a 32" LCD TV. In order to collect my prize I needed 2 forms of ID, a spouse or significant other, earn more than 50K a year, and have a major credit card.

Then I was given a date, time, and address to claim my prize. I was told that none of my identification (credit card included) would be taken from me and it was only to verify who I was. After "Checking in", I would be given a scratch card with a series of numbers on it and a drawing would take place to determine my prize. Joel said that I'd have to listen to a speech about the company and what they do because they are new to the area and this contest was a promotional event. He said it'd be no longer than 90 minutes.

Realizing it's some timeshare scam but still curious, I set a time and date and am probably going just to see if I get a prize with no strings attached, without them photo copying my IDs, or gathering my credit card info.

I'll post again in a couple days if I go.
