I received a green notice in the mail .
It reads: An important message has been left for you call toll free 1-800-784-1735 to access the message please enter the following personal Id:1502033 your message can be retrieved 24 hours a day .
On the front and back of post card it says Unclaimed Property Notification
Then it reads in a box 41.7 billion waiting to be returned by state unclaimed property programs .
This is b***s***   only because there is a legit site that you can actually look into to see if you have any unclaimed property of any sort . And I know for a fact I don't so becareful and it ignore it it comes from Denver Colorado

My postcard actually says there is unclaimed waiting for me!  So ridiculous, it says if I call the number, they will give me instructions on how to claim it.  Mine is from Denver also, I know there is no way I would have property in Colorado, myself and my family all live on the east coast.  Nice try!

My card was neon green and same as the others.  I know not to call this.  Could be any number of things, but it definitely is fraud.  I will not cooperate with fraud no matter the source.

Thank you for the info about ohio. I also received this post card, and when I called and entered my reference #, it was only an ad for free.com
Unfortunately I'm at my parents house and used their house phone, so if this is for them to capture a phone number, they're now going to be harassing my parents. I don't have any debt but medical debt so I'm not sure what this is about, my old charge acct debt for a retail store was already charged off as bad debt, this is a bunch of B.S.!

Just so everyone knows. At least in the state of Ohio, it is COMPLETELY illegal for a debt collector to contact you by postcard. Each offense as such, as well ad when they call and leave a nasty message or make a threat...every time they contact you at work, or contact a relative and leave details other than to locate you...is worth $1,000.00. They are further required to identify themselves AND their company. Any threat to take you to jail, file a police report, garnish wages, or visit you in person is a direct violation of your consumer rights.

Go check the consumer protection laws for your state.

I got a yellow card in the mail and called it from skype because I am overseas but when I entered my reference number, it was an ad for free.com. That doesn't match anything I have seen on here so just wanted to add that to the thread of stuff that happens when you call it.

Thanks everyone for letting me know that this is a scam. I received a legitimate post card from the US Postal Service recently indicating that they attempted to delivery me a registered letter and that I could pick it up at my local post office and it listed the post office address and office hours. This yellow postcard showed up a couple of days later and I thought maybe I had another letter to pick up, only I knew right away that this yellow postcard seemed to be an imposter. So thankful that I looked up the 800 number and read everyone's messages! We have to protect each other from scams like this. I'm going to send this to the Oregon Attorney General so they can pursue these people and put a stop to this scam. I recommend that if you received a yellow postcard that you send it to your state attorney general's office so they can investigate the matter further.

Received a neon yellow postcard sized mailing, 33 cent stamp, posted from Denver, CO (other info such as zip# badly smudged so I can't hazard a guess). Attempted to call through the Internet using  phone app that creates a random # (didn't want even more shysters getting my real #). Kept getting a message that I needed to call from a digital phone & use a valid reference #. Didn't make sense to me so before dialing thru my phone I Google the # & thank goodness. I was suspicious anyway bc I didn't order anything I haven't received!

I received the yellow pot card , stamped, and postmarked Denver CO. I wasnt gonna call until i googled the number... Glad I did. Not calling it. Devious on their part. and really, a delivery for parcels named, 'Delivery Service'.... telling you you have something but its restricted or insured, needs a sig, unable to use PO Box and no signature .... delivery services leave orange or green tags on your door, no stamps. or postmarks, and never a ref number.. a tracking number.... epic fail.

Debt Collector
Supposedly there is nothing to be delivered (that is why they say issue is resolved).  It is supposedly a debt collector (scam) trying to get phone numbers to put with the reference numbers so they can continue to call and harass you (on old debts!!).  Do NOT call back from your phone (unless you want them harassing you).  Trick them and call from a public phone somewhere (pay phone if you can find one!!). They are probably buying old debts to collect on.  ALL the post I have read on this - not ONE person has received any package!!

  Same as above.
   Called 1-800-684-0574
    Entered 4001408 ref. #
Told "this issue has been resolved." if I wished to speak to a representative enter"1"
Entered "1" and received a "Thank you for your call, goodbye."
Call would not complete in any of the 4 attempts after that.
An attempt on my wifes phone resulted in pretty much the same thing.

Debt Collector
I got the yellow card today, but these people are vicious and determined to contact me about a debt that has been settled! When I saw the stamp, I knew it had to be them, They've been leaving threatening messages for the last few months, but I never answer because I googled them from the very first call, and did my research and found out that they have no rights as a third party collector. That's why they try so hard and make all those threats to try and collect debt that they have purchased! Your original debt owed has more than likely been written off......they can call and send mail as much as the like, their numbers are blocked, and I toss the mail in file 13!
