I just received a call from these jokers as well.  For some reason, ARM appears to be hitting me with lots of calls.  They had called me with three other numbers first.  I sent in a cease and desist letter...  Then I've gotten two calls today not identified on caller ID, but one of those was this number.  So, my guess is ARM.  They received the C&D letter a couple of days ago.

I don't have any outstanding debt.  No idea why they call me, but the C&D letters worked with two other companies calling me for someone else.  Hopefully these jokers wise up.  Also wish someone would stop giving out my number I've had for over 7 years...  This all started at the beginning of the year.

These cretins refuse to stop harassing us. They want a deadbeat who owned our phone number YEARS ago. They have been told over and over and over and over, both on the phone and in e-mail to their website, that they have the wrong number, but they refuse to remove our number from their automatic harassment list. This is putting me in tears, all the constant ring, ring, ring ... every day.

They have called me a few times, never leave a message. So I called them back, at least to see how they would answer and who it was, but I was on hold for sooooo long I gave up. If it is some kind of collection agency, then they must have the wrong number/person. You'd think if they really really wanted to contact me (or whoever)then they would leave a message. Guess it's not important. I'm glad I found this web site.

Um if you just paid your bills you wouldn't be recieving calls, and most collectors are descently smart, because if they're still employed, then they must be recieving payments from ingnorant people like you...Just something for you to ponder on retard.

Here is a good way to deal with these Hitler Youth rejects and their disreputable tactics; First, never mind the number on your caller ID, it?s virtually always a fake and strictly one-way.  But the call-back number on the voice-mail has to be real, otherwise they could never scam a dime out of anyone.  Also, if you know for sure which collection company it is, visit their website and if the e-mail address under ?Contact Us? doesn?t readily suggest a debt collector use that too.  Write a realistic-sounding too-good-to-pass-up add for anything appealing to as wide a range of people as possible using their contact info. - then post it on Craig?s List! The ruinous overload of calls and E-Mails will soon cause their networks to crash and with these vermin, down-time is money down the drain.  The vast majority of collectiods took the short bus to school and are therefore notoriously slow learners, but this method will likely get the point across.

I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. I came here to see to whom the phone # belongs.  After a quick search of ARM of New Jersey, I found their website (keep in mind, this may NOT be the same ARM of New Jersey).  Just thought I'd pass this along.

They called TWICE today, didn't count the other days. I finally answered the second time. Some rude hood-sounding young male was on the phone asking for my sister by only her first name, which they misspelled at first. Skeptical, I asked what the message was...they said "confidential"...I asked what the company name was so I could relay some message to my sister...again they said "confidential"...at this point, I'm thinking this is a fraud or scam of some sort. They said my sister should know what this is about. Like, what the hell? No she did not. She googled them & found places like this, saying how ridiculously scammy they are. Turns out, this is about a friend of a friend's debt! Again, WHAT THE HELL? WHY would ANY company go calling around such distant, distant non-connections like this? AND be allowed to continue to work? Isn't this a violation of some sort of privacy law? That dude even had the nerve to ask my sister to supply him with her social security number! Like anyone would be stupid enough to give out their social for a debt that's not even theirs, all to get their own credit ruined or possible become the next victim of identity theft? There's gotta be something us private citizens, who are law-abiding, tax-paying people can do to not get harassed like this!

Received several calls from this number, CA's state they are calling on behalf of ARM in reference to a credit card that was closed as fraudulent over 2 years ago.  We have repeatedly told them we never opened the card and dispute the debt, and they say to mail them documentation of such (how, exactly do you document a negative?) but call several times a day.  Last time I checked, the mail service wasn't that fast.

The people at 800-788-7646 will NOT stop calling me.  They said my husband owed Citibank $1,000.20 but that they would discount that today to be $500.20.  They immediately asked me for debit card info.  I asked them the address they had for this bill.  It is not ours, nor any place where we have ever lived.  As a matter of fact, my husband has never had a Citibank account.

They were VERY rude and finally hung up on me after I repeatedly asked them for their physical address.  They tell me that unless we give them our last 4 digits of my husband's SS# they will continue to call until they are paid!!!

Got a call from this number and also talked with a woman with an Indian accent.  She was trying to negotiate an $8576.33 balance that my wife had with a Citi Credit card.  She has an account there, but the balance is FAR below that number.  When I said I was going tell her about it so she could call her back (I didn't know the bal at the time), she got quick with me and tried to get a $100 minimum payment out of me on the spot.  When I told her no, she QUICKLY hung up without giving me callback details.

Thanks for sharing, everyone!

Received from 1-800-788-1646, up to 5 times a day. I called to find out the company. They said they were from Accounts Receivable Management. They spoke with an accent. When I asked if they were in the USA, she became very rude. I told her to stop calling my home. She said she had every right to call to collect a debt I owed. I told here to mail it to me. Then she asked for my address. I told her I was going to report her to the police, do not call and the FTC. She hung up. Haven't received a call since.

this creditor keeps on calling even after I asked them to stop and mail me a letter with their proposal and alleged past debt. I asked for their contact info so I can have a lawyer call them and they hung up on me. I then called back and they continued to hang up, with twice speaking to a supervisor that tried to guilt me into paying off my wife's debt. I asked for the contact info and they denied to give it to me.

I got this call account recievable management and they said I owed them 79.00 for bank of america.  Never had a bank of america account.  When I said something to them about this they go oh wait its for direct buy, never heard of them either, then it was double day book club.  I told them until I get something in writing from them and the original bill from the person, to my home address which if they are a legit collection service they should already have my address then I was not  paying them.  That was 3 weeks ago and I still have yet to recieve something.  But they still call every now and then I just don't answer the phone.  Never leaves a message.
