The message I just posted was a scam email I received it said the phone number is for Bank of America but it is for WAMU

ATTENTION BENEFICIARY

STATE INHERITANCE COMMITTEE IN CONJUNCTION WITH UNITED NATION, WHICH MUST BE TREATED VERY URGENT.

In the course of our General Auditing and Account revision, we discovered that the Bank Accounts belonging to some Benefactors have been changed on the basis that the owners have died some time last year or have given out an authorization note of change of data.
After the investigations however, it was revealed that there are Foreigners who are collaborating with Retired Staffs of the bank to make these changes illegally without the knowledge of the Bonafide Benefactors and one traced to your own change is this Mr Allen Smith who said you are dead, hence they have forwarded some documents of funeral service held for you so as to divert your fund.  They have also forwarded this bank account below as the new account that will receive this money.

1. FULL NAME

This is an old WaMu customer service number that must now be routed to a collection department at Chase. My mother had a seldom-used account and was trying to order checks using an old WaMu deposit slip. The number is printed on the checks. She called and they started asking questions about an account in the name of another family member. It was obviously an attempt to get information as part of a debt collection effort. I believe it to be a legitimate number, as the information they had on this person would not be known to someone who did not have access to Chase or WaMu records.

This is a chase #.  I've been dealing with them for years. If they are calling you chances are you owe them money. It's also chase acct services so you can call to do banking and get assistance. My advise is if they call you simply answer and work it out.

This number is listed on an email from "American Express" saying there is a new "Security Alert" on my American Express - to click on the link to log in and see the alert.  Only one problem, I do not now and have never had American Express.

Keep getting this call too and they say for me to call back and give me an extension to use. No other details besides that they are calling me and asking for some lady named Michele Cho.  Hmmmfff

This is a fraudulent call.  I have checked with Chase after I got a call from "Chase Electronic money Movement Department"  asking for my Pin#.  This is NOT a Chase number and the department doesn't exist.  Their security folks are now trying to track the people down.

They continue to call our business, looking for an employee who is no longer with our company.  When we tell them that person no longer works for us, they say thank you we will call back.
Call back?  What for?  To waste our time.  Seriously.

I'm getting calls from this number saying I have a message and tells me to wait several times.

Yes, it's Wash Mutual; they just called as a courtesy reminder to activate my new card.

This number has called me several times and leaves a message saying to take a WAMU service survey about their automated service. I do not bank with WAMU. I do not have any WAMU credit cards. And they called me at 2:53 AM on a Sunday morning! I think It might be a scam.

It is a SCAM they say its a Chase/Wamu  when you call, but it is not legit.

I received an email originating from nigeria and telling me to call this number which they said this is the number for Bank of America. Believe me this is a scam!!!!! Hopefully you guys seen this on ABC's news about this Nigerian Stuff. So guys don't ever give away your personal stuff over the phone or reply to their emails. Ignore this people! Warning you guys this is a scam!!!

This was Chase Fraud calling me.  I saw this forum and was worried that the call, itself, was fraudulent, so I called the customer service number on the back of my debit card.  They told me that this number, was, indeed, from them, and they were calling to alert me to fraud attempts on my account.  They also called me, within a few minutes of the first call, from 800-355-5265, which Chase told me was also a real number.  They followed up with email alerting me of fraud.  

So I don't know if people know how to "spoof" these phone numbers or if they were used by WaMu in the past, but as of today, June 14 2010, those were legitimate Chase Fraud numbers.

Got a call from this number. Was Chase asking me to verify a charge on my account I had made literally 5 minutes prior. No information was asked for and none was given except to verify I was me and to say yes or no to charging $xxxx on my card. Nothing more and nothing less.

I got a call from this number as well.  They claimed they are Chase Electronic Money Movement and they wanted my pin#.  I refused the info and called Chase.  This number is NOT a Chase number and Chase has no such department.  They have turned the number over to their security folks.  This is a fraudulent call.  Do not answer any questions from them.  That is a good idea at any time.

Yo, if anybody cares, there's actually laws about what times they can call and when it is ILLEGAL for them to call if their intention is collections, such as dinner time, weekends, middle of the nite, etc. I have Pre-Paid Legal, so I was able to ask my attorneys about some of that kinda stuff and they got them to stop harrassing me. In my case, it was unsolicited harrassment because I didn't owe s***! In some other peoples cases, might not be that easy. Thats collections from Washington Mutual - Since WaMu was bought by CHASE these people started calling and they are relentless. They call TWICE every time if they hit an answer machine or if you hung up on them. They also call from "Unknown" number but is the same people. Yes this is an outsourced company / call center in India or Philipines and they dont understand that if you are late on your mortgage you KNOW you are late. They do call at all times of day or night including weekends. I gave up answering them. And I never give them any of my information. Pure harassment.

This number has called me several times in the evening. The calls have gone to voicemail because I am usually at work when they call and my cell phone is turned off. It claims to be a WaMu customer service survey about their automated service. I don't bank with WaMu. I don't have a WaMu credit card and none of my store cards are through WaMu. I kind of think it is a scam for these reasons. Plus IT CALLED ME AT 2:53AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING!!!!

These poeple have nothing to do with our business transactions with washing mutual/ chase. I am certain they have some arrangement where they get paid by the call so they don't care if they are valid or not.

Fraud call. They claim they are from chase bank and want verify my account with my birthday date. You are in trouble if you tell them. Donnot answer their call!

These people call me 7 days a week day and night, never leave a message,, and when they do  they are harrassing me about payments they claim are past due that have been paid to or 3 months ago...washington mutual has been like this ever since they merged with another company last year..They have abused my number, and i havent lived in the house in 2 years, my daughters there, yes its in my name, half of these people calling can barely speak english.I will change my number,
