A man with an East Indian accent called saying I must get on my computer right away and help me fix a problem that Microsoft just found out was killing the operating systems of 8.1.  I refused and then checked this site.  So very glad we did.

It is VERY obvious, that you were called by the raghead computer scammers, who attempt to cheat decent folks, in order to feed their camels!

I have been receiving calls from this number, men with Indian accents stating that they are Microsoft certified technicians and that my computer is sending out error messages. My computer is working fine. They are pushy and persistent. On one call, I old a man to call call back the next day and he stated that that was going to be a holiday for them. To see what they were up to I logged into my computer and he had me go to an events page that listed some critical errors. When he said that he wanted to do remote viewing of my computer I ended the call. When I tried to call the number I got a fast busy signal. My land line telephone has a call blocking feature, and I have entered this number to be blocked. Hopefully it will prevent me from receiving more call from these people.

Not gong to stop anytime soon.  These people are scammer/extortionists working out of Indian call centers.  They are pretty much bullet-proof and they know it.  Call blocker is your best bet.   Occasionally the Indian government shuts one or two of the call centers down, but they start up again somewhere else.

Occasionally I threaten them with a hellfire missile air strike; or I tell them I'm going to sic  NSA on them.  It shuts them up for a few seconds, but than they ramble on  again.

I do get mad at 'em.

i got a call today from this wonderful number, normally some trash like this I let slide. I live with my grandparents who do not use computers and know very little about them. when I got the call they said in a very heavy mid eastern accent that they were from some company I could not make out after asking they guy to repeat himself several times. he proceeded to say my registry in my windows XP computer was full of errors. Well I said to the guy funny my XP computer has errors I have not owned XP in years. He said oh I ment windows 8. Again I said funny I own a windows 7 computer. I asked for his name again, his title, and his address and return call number.  He said none of that is important. I laughed said well i hope you think it is important that the call was recorded and now will be sent to the police and reported to the FTC. Called me a rude name and hung up. I looked up the number online and found not only this but  few other places where I can see that many folks were contacted by this. Sorry if my thoughts here are not complete I am running on no sleep. So does anyone know after this gets reported to the FTC and police what happens? How long will this take to stop?

I received a call from this number a few minutes ago, seeing as they called the other day and were trying to get my 12 year old daughter to allow them access (which thankfully she hung up) I told him I am going to notify the authorties. He then started getting very nasty saying don't "f***ing" threaten me and "lick my lolly".. I really hope they can find these people and take care of this issue.

Get calls all the time from these idiots.  They say "I'm with windows technical department", anyone dumb enough to believe should fall victim to this scam.  I think they are indian or some foreign place like that.  It is so fun to mess with them, I love making them repeat themselves a hundred times then tell them I have apple, it is soooo great.

But seriously I wish we could stop all scammers I am so sick of them its not funny, but if you recorded me messing with them you would laugh your butt off.

They've been calling me (a guy with an Indian accent) and even left a voicemail message once.  This time I decided to answer and string him along. He said he was calling about my windows computer.  I asked him, "Which one?"  He hesitated and then said "Well, we believe you may be using more than one in your household."  I asked what version of windows and he said vista, windows 6, windows 7.  I asked what company he was with and he said something that sounded like "Italxo in New Jersey".  He told me to get in front of my windows computer for him. I asked why. He said that there are people experiencing issues that they are unaware of.  I asked what and he said it's to address some issues with slow performance, taking a long time to load and things like that.  I said, "So let me get this straight. You are going to call everyone, every household that has a windows computer and just help them out?"  And he said, "No, not businesses. Just homes."  I said, "Well, I don't need help with that" and hung up on him.  What worries me is that there are people that will end up giving him their IP address and if they do any shopping or banking online they will have lost everything. :(

My husband got a number that just showed up as 8100 on caller ID.  It was an automated call saying to press 1 to allow state to state access on his credit card.  He just hung up. He called our banks and cards and no one has any business with us like that.

I received the same type of call.  It is a shame that anyone falls for this type of social engineering but they do so be careful. Microsoft would not just call you out of the blue and say something is wrong with your computer.  Do not provide any information to anyone who calls randomly. Be very careful as these individuals go to sites like spokeo, white-pages, etc and can easily get you name, phone number, address, names of potential relatives etc. With this basic information they can trick you into thinking they are legit. Again be careful- provide no money to any caller, no personal information, no birth dates, no bank information, no account information, do not answer any questions, nothing. JUST HANG UP

Got a call from this number yesterday and i told them thats funny i don't own a computer and asked how they got my number. The not very well speaking english man who sounded like he was from india began yelling at me telling ms im wrong and cursing at me. I laughed, said a few choice words and hung up. It would be nice that since we pay these phone companies thousands of dollars each every year that they should figure out a way to intercept these types of calls.
