I think i will start harassing them. Now that I know it is for medical bills. I have a a weird medical condition that happened 2 years ago that made me lose most of my eyes sight, I make to much spinal fluid and from the strain of the pressure in the back of my eyes it damaged my optical nerves blinding me. At the time I was a Manager and making over 45,000 a year able to deal and pay medical bills as well as having wonderful insurance, However not being able to do my job and not being able to drive, I quite my job and my husband and I have lived off his salary and our savings. However at the age of 35, and bringing in nothing, I am trying to just keep the roof over our heads, Thank GOD for my husband, I am trying to get social security now because we have nothing left but thats probably still a few months down the road and I have put the medical bills at the back so we could have electric, gas, water, phone, and internet. No we dont have cable, we dont go on vacation and the car he drives is paid for and almost ten years old. My husband has to have internet for work or I would shave that 45 off our bills a month as well. We dont have credit carda so I was wondering who it was calling me 15 times a day. Thank y'all for telling me and now I will answer and harass them as well. I truly hope nothing ever happens to any of the "Bill Collectors" that happened to me but I wish they had an understanding. Sorry I am on a soap box and thank you letting me rant.

I got this message every day when I had voice mil for home phone. Same MSG ever day, but no actual person. I googled the number and it is American Medical Collectin Agency so they may be legit but if it is a hospital balance that wasn't paid by insurance then it is a ripoff that we have o even pay more so too bad!

***** they are a debt collector , and yes they call repeatedly and sometimes they get very rude and threatening ( no matter the fact their job is understandably highly stressful -doesnt give them the right to act unprofessional or rude/threatening towards u ) ... you dont exactly need it but get a call recorder app. next time they call just patiently hear them out .. let them tell you everything they need to ..then you chime in with YOUR opinion of the subject / debt..they are calling about... (BE NICE BECAUSE ITS GOING TO BE YOUR WORD AGAINST THEIRS TO WIN THE CASE ) ...tell them u are aware/unaware of the nature of their call - if it does or does not pertain to u ...if its legitimate - my suggestion; pay the debt if u choose or tell them very clearly "do not call me anymore" "take me off of your call list" (as for ANY calls from other businesses, do the same ) If they ignore the demand - log every accountable time they do, they are in violation of the law, a verbal cease and desist is now legal cause for lawsuit allowing you compensation for your discomfort ... I have METRO PCS and they have METRO BLOCK IT app for $1month ..provided by *PRIVACY STAR* . FOLLOW THE APPS INSTRUCTION TO FILE COMPLAINT AND YOU WILL GET A CALL BACK ASAP CONFIRMING YOUR COMPLAINT. THEY WILL HAVE AN ATTORNEY GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU TO FORWARD THE CASE AND STOP THE CALLS WHILE ISSUING THEM FINES TO YOUR COMPENSATION ....GOOD LUCK ***** HOPE THIS HELPS

I repeatedly keep getting calls from this #. The person they are looking for doesn't have my number. I have had my cell # for 11 years. When I call to ask them to remove my number, as I have requested several times. I get hung up on. When I call back. I am left on hold for a ridiculous amount of time.

logical thought....
Why would anyone respond to a company that goes by three different names..
1. RMC
2. Retrieval Masters
3. American Medical Collections.
Clearly should like they are trying to hide their business from who hmm .......let's see .. federal Government ( FTC)
or maybe from State Consumer Protection office...
They do two of these companies have a F rating from the BBB
It all adds up do not respond to their number... get them out of business
And were is Elmsford NY
Puck 2014-05-30 01:09:30 Debt Collector
I confronted them as I called them. Told them that FTC laws says that they first have to send out a letter to informed
you of the debt.. got a blank answer
According to BBB they have a " F rating"
and Ripe off line has numerous complaints about them too..
Why are slim ball allowed to operate

Your advice is off.
You have to notify them IN WRITING to stop contacting you. And you have confused laws for TELEMARKETING, with laws for COLLECTION. And the Miranda thing is quite laughable.
What practices are off limits for debt collectors? -from consumer.ftc.gov (notice "raising of voice" isn't on the list):
--------
Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:
use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.
Debt collectors may not:
give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn?t; or
use a false company name.
Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt ? or your state law ? allows the charge;
deposit a post-dated check early;
take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or
contact you by postcard.

They have called my cell phone repeatedly. I have never answered their calls. After they called several times, I blocked their number. Earlier today, they somehow managed to get a call through to my cell phone.

It is against the law. Unfortunately, we now live in a country run by criminals, so justice is difficult to secure.
Jean-Paul Tertocha 2014-04-30 14:20:43 Unknown
I do not answer unrecognized phone numbers such as this one; 800-804-0057. No message left. I have no affiliation with this firm.
Patience Page 2014-04-28 21:20:33 Unknown
They have been calling me since last year. Two times a day at the most. Caller id always says unknown. Getting very annoyed with it.
Patricia 2014-04-28 15:24:45 Unknown
don't know who it is but when called back only static
anon 2014-04-17 22:15:03 Unknown
Getting numerous calls from these losers, whoever they are, per day. I blocked them after about three days of calling and them not leaving a message. You would think if this was 'so important' that they would leave a message. They don't. Therefore, I consider them just another scammer and a nuisance and blocked them just like the 300 other scammers who have done the same the last two years. I pay for a phone line for MY convenience .. NOT theirs! In fact, it should be considered a crime, the equivalent of breaking and entering into my home (I work out of my house, so it is also my place of business) since they are disturbing my peace and my ability to conduct business!! These companies are absolute scum of the Earth.
nrenee 2014-04-17 14:56:09 Unknown
They keep calling me and dont leave a message. So I just put this number on " no ring " on my "ring selection tone" This way they dont bother me.
Spambuster 2014-04-17 14:28:55 Unknown
Just got a call from this number, Googled it, and found numerous reportings (many in Japanese!) as well as this site. I wouldn't take these calls personally in terms of your credit-worthiness, or get involved with them in way. While it may feel personal, who knows how many numbers are being robo-called by these groups. I'm sure they are well-trained in identifying within seconds if you're going to take the bait, or if you're wasting their time.
Reporting to the FCC is about all you can do, and I'm not sure how effective that is.

I get 3 to 5 calls daily from this number with no message.
Beverly 2014-04-10 21:47:39 Unknown
When I answer no one there!!!
Beverly 2014-04-10 21:46:15 Unknown
You are correct, it is a scam. Get calls on my cell phone and only my family has that number.
Ed 2014-04-10 18:14:35 Unknown
There is a scam that comes up International call and you get a charge to your bill if you call them back. I like so many on here don't owe but get this call 2-3 times a day and have never called back because of the scam.
Concerned 2014-04-08 15:00:29 Unknown
I keep getting phone calls from this number. When I answer no one is there and nothing happens. If you are going to call me at least say something. I have no outstanding medical bills and do not know why they would be calling.
Kevin 2014-04-08 13:54:31 Unknown
I called back, they were looking for my ex girlfriend. Debt collection, in this case student loans. I am hoping to not hear from them again.
P Smead 2014-04-05 16:35:54 Unknown
Too many calls for months. No one there!
Daniel 2014-04-01 18:44:03 Unknown
This number (800) 804-0057 calls my number like clockwork every single day. When it rings it says "United States" under it. Whoever is calling from that number never leaves a message, and if they were a legitimate collection agency they would leave a message. I just set there number to go to voice mail. Does anyone know how to block them from even ringing through to your cell phone?
stacey 2014-03-28 15:28:43 Unknown
its a medical bill debt collection agency
Not my bill 2014-03-22 04:37:58 Unknown
Angela, that's great if it's your bill. I just got this number and apparently some debtor used to have it and they won't get it through their thick heads it isn't me.
