Apparently they are targeting people who have had a death in the family....I called Capital One directly and they have NEVER had an account with the person who has passed on...I feel these people are scams........Call Capital One...check it out!

I received a call from this number yesterday and today. They asked for my husband who died last December 21. I do not intend to call them back but I'm glad this posting is here so I know more about who it is.

They are debt collectors for Captial One. Like many, my husband died and just a few weeks later they started to harrassing me. Fortunately, or unfortunately my husband refinanced our home ear;y in the year and they were paid off. Unless my husband's cancer spread to his brain, there is no way he billed up the credit card in two short months up to $3,000. Ifd he did what did he buy and where is it. I do not plan to pay them again. I sent them proof of payment but they fail to send me anything with a list of what he bought. They are unbelieable.

My wife became very sick and with in a short time I lost her. It's only been a couple weeks and we were so close! I never thought that I'd have a relationship like this! She was my everything! These people started calling in regards to a Capital One credit card in her name. The last month for my wife was terrible! She took care of all the bills & paperwork so when she was so sick that neither of us were thinking about any bills, I was taking care of her night and day and could only think of how to get her better and she wasn't able to make a payment! Since I lost her I spoke to an attorney and they told me not to do anything with any wills, or money for at least six months because any debts like Capital One will have to be paid before anything else can be done but if I wait six months they can't demand full payment. In fact they can't do anything at all so that's what I'm going to do and they can get maybe a dollar per month from me for being so disrespectfull and rude! I understand it's a debt to them and that it should be paid! I don't want there to be any debts against her name but they need to change/eliminate their harrassment policy! They'll eventually get their money but it will be MY way and not theirs!

Seriously! I tried to call them back to tell them to stop calling me, and I heard one ring and then 'click' like the line hung up on me. They call at least once a day, usually right when I'm trying to get my baby to sleep. They're hurting their business, not helping it.

Calls minimum two times daily. Several attempts made to call these people back and got recordings saying to enter some kind of code. Finally a woman answered and wanted to know if someone had died recently that something was in probate. No one has died so don't know what game they are running.
