Totally agree, I have no idea who is calling me but I will agree Amex said to me that they wouldn't move forward if I paid the monthly, they LIED the jerks... By the time I knew what they had done (and I paid the monthly payment) it was too late and they said they had no idea what I was talking about :( ) sad sad company... Almost as bad as Canadian tire 34% interest :(

Do some Google searches on this company and you'll see that its a fraudulent collection company that has been proven to buy contact lists from AMEX and the like and there is no due diligence done as to whether there is actually a debt owing or not. The simply harass people until they pay. Their harassment includes breaking the laws regarding how many times and when they can call and that they have to identify themselves and the reason for their call. Their rudeness and lies aren't actually breaking any laws specifically, but there are plenty of illegal actions they are engage in... unfortunately it means time and money for anyone to do anything about it:( Send them a letter by registered mail indicating you dispute their claim and if they want to pursue it that needs to be done in court. They are legally obligated to stop calling you at that point... not that legal obligations mean anything to these people, but its likely your best chance at stopping them. If you do owe money to who they claim to represent, mention in your letter that you are dealing with the company directly and will not engage with Collectcorp. If they cross the line, like harassing friends, coworkers, etc. then you may want to get some legal advice and have a lawyer to the next letter.

I keep getting calls from this number. The person they ask for is not me. I politely told them the first 3 times that they have the wrong number. On the third call, they asked me if I know the person they were looking for. At that point, I said lady if I knew the person you were looking for it wouldn't be a wrong number. The called a fourth time while i was away at work and my fiancee answered the phone and once again told them that the person they are looking for is not the owner of the number she is calling and to please take our number off her file. The lady was always polite but was not getting the hint or didn't believe she had the wrong number. Will have to wait and see if it works this time. Starting to get frustrating. I can guarantee that I am not the person they are looking for.

I got a call from same number asking about a name close to our family name...my husband rushed to say it is the wrong number and hung up. Then I thought why don't I call them back to see if they meant to ask about one of us but misspelled it. The guy who answered the phone had a weird voice ... I asked what kind of company they are and he said abruptly they are a financial company. He searched for my number and promised to remove it from their data base cause they were looking for another person. And when I asked what is the name of the company exactly, he was upset and said he cannot give out more info... he sounded so secretive like he is with a spy agency or something.

I told them "DO NOT CALL again."  The lady sounded like it's my fault that they have a wrong tel. # in their hands.

this number calls me at least five times a day, I never answer as I feel if it was legit they would leave a message. Is there anyway to stop these calls? I am on the do not call list but that list was just a lie to appease the public as I am always getting calls.

Company has called me 3 days in a row for someone I do not know, nor have ever heard of before.  3 days in a row I have told them this and asked them to remove me from their list and yet ... they keep calling.  So your whole "If its the wrong number simply answer or return their call and tell them, by law they HAVE to remove it." is bull!  If it IS the law, they sure as hell aren't following it.

I have not received a phone call but I did get a letter in the mail.  I look after the accounting books for my employer and this letter was addressed to the company.  This letter does not state their company name and indicates that it is a Default and Recovery Division.  There is no signature on the letter and it states;" YOU MAY PAY THIS ACCOUNT BY CERTIFIED CHEQUE, MONEY ORDER, VISA, MASTERCARD OR WESTERN UNION VIA QUICK COLLECTION SERVICES".  There is a side note that indicates that my credit card statement will indicate payments made to Salma Sheikn, in trust.

Just add their number to call reject on your cellphone and that's the end of them. Collection Agencies have absolutely no power. Its illegal for them to call you on a cellphone.

Let them call and just do not pick up your phone and let your answering machine do the job of answering stupid calls.  If there is no message left, then assume they never call and if there is a message and it does not relate to you then again, assume that phone calls never exist and just erase those messages.  That's how I screen my calls.  Minimize ringtone volume on your phone so that it does not bother you when those stupid low class and low paying job workers call you either to sell something, survey, greedy association collecting clothing or else.  Do not let them provoke you and if you are provoked, these trained psychos gets even more excited and feel they are successful in aggravating you.

This is what happen when the economy is not doing well.  On one hand people cannot pay their debt, on the other hand there are desperate people who are willing to take this kind of low class job just to aggravate other innocent people.

Some of us do not owe any money and are being harassed by these people.  This, and many other collection agencies are committing fraudulent activities.  They are telling me I owe over $4000 on my Amex - my amex account was closed (by me) over 2 years ago and only had a limit of $2000 on it - it was paid in full, and when I speak to Amex about it they agree - these people would like me to pay the amount they say I owe by credit card immediately.  Fraudulent and illegal.  Take a moment before judging people and take a look in the mirror - what are you doing on this site if they haven't called you???

this number belong to a collections agency, to all you people out there that think that ignoring the calls or screening them will make them stop.........IT WONT! These collection agents will tell you they call 3 times a day seven days a week and that there is nothing you can do to stop them. This was the fourth call. Furthermore Certain Banks use internal collection departments from multiple cities as well as multiple third party collection agents all at the same time on one account. The only course of action is to keep a log of all calls and report regularly tp phone busters and which ever police department handles these issues in your area.

Keep getting a call from this neumber and they are looking for my old roomate.... even after I tell them they have moved out over 2 years ago and move out of province They still call every single day !!!! really stating to get annoyed .

they call all the time i don't answer there calls most of the time, but they called today before 8:00am and i was pissed so i answered it and asked them why are you fn calling me, she said is Rosemarie there, which is total bs no there is no Rosemarie here and stop calling me. This is odd, reading other comments I gather this number is a collection agency.  
I was curious because this person just called me and asked for a name of an estranged family member whom I haven't seen or spoken to in 7+ years.  I say it is "strange" because just last week, I also got a call at my workplace from a very friendly fellow pretending that he knew me and asking me how he could get in touch with the same guy.  If he did know me, he'd know that I severed ties with that jerk!!
Clearly these people/companies will scour the internet and telephone books looking for anyone with a surname similar to that of the person they are searching for.
